This is so fascinating. I’m 81 years old. So interesting to see what the options are for todays young women. You can have a successful career AND be a mother with this process. WOW. Hiya! I had my daughter at 38. I was classed as a geriatric mother (in NHS terms!) which was daunting and meant more scans and tests! However, the midwife told me I carried better than most 20 year olds and I had a very healthy and happy pregnancy. I think being older I felt settled and was financially secure. I had my daughter on my own, as my ex partner decided he didn’t want to have a child - we did this by drawing up contracts to ensure I had complete control and my ex partner didn’t have any financial and legal responsibilities for my child. Yes it was sometimes a struggle, but I live close to my family and they have been extremely supportive. My daughter is now 8, and I can honestly say that she is the best decision I could have ever made. Yes you do have to put someone else first and yes you have to prioritise them over you! But it is worth every sleepless night and every worry. Goodluck with your journey - however it may happen and unfold! You are still young and healthy and in the perfect place to become a mum when you are ready! Xx

I think the notion that having eggs frozen will necessarily guarantee you a safer fertility outcome is a myth. It isn’t just as simple as freezing and pausing your fertility if those eggs are thawed integrity can be affected. As the body ages other factors come into play. Although I appreciate the sentiment I don’t think this is necessarily an isolated solution. People need to understand everything that can still go wrong and act accordingly. Speaking from a place of understanding

Hi Laura - Rooting for you as I am well aware this is a tricky and sensitive subject for some. As such, I'd like to say that although this process of IVF is very mainstream and relatively accessible to all (it could be quite expensive), it is by no means an easy process. The psychological aspects and complications (in certain cases) are real and should be acknowledged. I wish you the best in your own journey and I do agree that knowledge is power.
You can have a great family up to the age of 45 , don’t worry about it!

I suppose I feel "lucky" in a way that I never wanted children and I still don't (yes despite people telling me for years as a woman you're apparently supposed to want one! lol), so fertility never even crossed my mind. Good luck on your journey. Love to see an independent woman not settling but taking matters into her own hands.

It's funny I didn't know what camera to buy and decided on a Sony ZV1 because it was so light and portable yet seems to have everything you need unless you want to do serious films. It's kind of a point and shoot camera because I don't think you can change the lens, at least it's not meant to be changed. BUT you just put in the settings you want and it can do them. What I love about it, is that it has a 'beauty' setting so it can hide things like texture and enhance you. I did think you looked and sounded a bit tuned down. The color not as bright, the sound lowered. My 2 cents. IVF in the states'; just everywhere and just about everyone these days because the food and environment is poisoned and everyone is toxic and so fertility is way down. Good for you, but that means you will definitely have children because you're not spending all this money and making all this effort without using it. So you will!

The most important thing for a woman should be finding the right man because nobody should commit to a relationship just because their child raising time is running out. However, if you are in your mid thirties or beyond there are other things to consider as well as fertility. My daughter is 36 and has a healthy three year old. But subsequent to that she lost a baby due to placenta issues and now that she is pregnant again has found herself pregnant at 24 weeks in another high risk, stressful pregnancy due to a Subchorionic bleed and her waters breaking prematurely a month ago. I'm just saying this because if any of your followers are younger, in a stable relationship and delaying child rearing because they think it's easy to do as an older mother, you might find that it's not for reasons other than fertility. Young bodies statistically cope better.

i'm right there with you have had traumatic relationships, left wanting options for future. im in america, I have my consult for freezing at the end of the month. there is long waiting lists at most clinics here just for the consult, which is frustrating. i found a lot of information watching youtube videos of other women going through the process. i hope it isn't too late in life for me to get a successful amount. thanks for sharing, sending 🙏& love best of luck with yours!
