Presentazione Falling Star

One afternoon I was at my parents' house, and the TV was on in the living room. I was attracted by the interview of a famous TV presenter, who I had known as always smiling and cheerful. In that interview, however, he was talking about a difficult moment he had gone through, recalling the same sensations I had felt many years earlier in a similar situation. So I sat down at the piano and wrote the song straight away. It's a painful song in which I got rid of the burden I'd been carrying inside me for so many years. The title of the song, "Falling star", evokes a star that is consumed, slowly extinguished: the only wish to express is that of not being swallowed up by darkness. (“Falling star, fading in the dark / this lonely night is tearing you apart, Falling star, you know I'm trying hard / to fill the hole in your soul with the beat of my heart”) When I published the song, I wrote to the TV presenter telling him the circumstances in which the song was written. I didn't think he would answer me, but he did! He was very sweet and he told me "I hope that composing and singing continues to give you satisfaction throughout your life and that it consoles you in moments of discouragement, which are the gifts that life gives us to appreciate the happy ones more deeply."
