I was revising my Warden today early. Launch and sit to watch your videos... Checking this, paying a lot attention I realize that: I JUST ORGANIZED and arrange MY MASTERIES shortcuts at same place and order like yours. Incredible.
I was looking at this guide earlier Louey7 and i have to be brutally honest! This video and of the gambit system must be one of the best on youtube! I am a returning player been away for 10 years and back in the day i remember when the warden first came out and things were different much harder but today i am loving the experience as a tank i have (dyslexia) memory issues short term working memory, but with your explanations and quick slots and tried and tested in game what a difference so (Thank you very much) for a well put together video, but more so your time and many considerations -
The timing of this video is perfect. I just returned to the game a few days ago after a very long break, and I want to dust off my Lv.105 warden that I boosted and pretty much left alone ever since lol.
I want to say a few other warden tips that I think are worth knowing. Shield-slam can cancel the animation of whatever gambit you are using currently. So you can use it to do wall of steel or onslaught instantly. Your gambit builders have a cool down, so it you are doing say a mighty blow, you don't want to build it 1 2+3 1 because that second spear will be slow. Make sure you line up gambits to avoid this. Finally, move around while you are attacking. If you circle your target, you can both cause then to be slower to attack you occasionally, and you will git hit less by a mob of enemies because of the way pathfinding works in the air, they won't stand on top of you, so while a bunch are chasing, you can drop aoe skills while only getting hit by some of them (edit) quick clarification on animation canceling with shield slam, if you need to do interruptions, right before you go to interrupt the ability, either do a gambit, or hit a builder, and cancel it with shield slam. This way you can get that free induction interrupt, and also get value out of the animation cancel. You only want to use it specifically for killing animations if you know you don't need to interrupt key inductions.
As someone who's trying to get into keybinding use and moving more with a mouse to keep my fingers on skill keys, how tf does one manage to move around a target WHILE attacking ? That is a complete mystery tl me, if you could enlighten me that'd be much appreciated. In other words ig, how do you get around fighting ? Do you click on skills and move with qwsd or what ?
@@Indivus I use sedf instead of awsd, and I unbind rotate and only use strafe, I rotate with the mouse instead. Then you can use one to two fingers for movement, and the others for skills Edit: moving to esdf frees up your pinky for skills
@@nayber2352 Thank you, i took some of your advices, and am slowly starting to get the hang of using keybinds for combat ! It takes a little bit of time but it's getting there.
Now I want to play my Warden! Thank you for the Video, it was very helpful for me as beginner Warden. Especially the parts with gambit-builder and battle memory. Now is time for some practice...
Great video! I had no idea Ranged Resounding Challenge had a DoT component. A ranged AoE with a Light DoT... yes please! Tried it out last night and it might just be my new favorite way to pull mobs.
Very helpful, thanks! Would you share how you were able to display the gambit descriptions over your UI? That would be great when learning new gambits. Thx!
Awesome video which I will continue to rewatch several times as I'm super bad atm haha, quick question I might have missed, when you say "use your strongest gambits first" once you do do you then use the smaller ones too afterwards (do thry stack for eg) or just rinse & repeat the strongest? Hope that makes sense tia.
I haven't watched the whole video yet so you might have said this, but I hotkeyed the 2 gambit removal skills to q and e. This way I can easily remove the last builder or the whole lot of I need
I mentioned keybinds (which since this video I actually do use myself basically 100% of the time with gambit masteries now), but that is a good tip! I'm personally too used to q and e for strafing at this point :)
@@Louey7 Yeah it's pretty hard to get used to changes with that stuff! Thanks for the vid btw, I've barely played the game since Mirkwood, only to kind of level up so I'm so out of touch of so many new things and changes. R.I.P Disco Challenge ;(
I really appreciate this video. I learned my rotation the first 20 lvls, then get 9 new skills that completely flips everything I know about the class on its head. Terrible game design.
This is one of the most confusing videos I've seen in a long time. I've only made it to 13:31 and I'm even more confused now than when I started. Face/palm.
I still can't figure out the gambit builders and I got two wardens to Moria. It takes me so long to memorise regular gambits :P Also, I use 1,2,3,etc. for regularly used skills, and I've put gambit builders in the other slots (ctrl, shift, etc.) and it's hard to use the keys with those since I use my mouse and keys at the same time and only have one hand for the keyboard 🤣
Yeah, the gambit masteries take a while to get down. I also have trouble managing to use all of those with keybinds (ctrl, shift, and functions keys for me) on just my left hand without any clicking, and often do resort to clicking the masteries, as well. It's still something I'm working on improving with my playstyle on the Warden!
@@Louey7 I have all my masteries on the numpad, plus some other useful skills like QR and NS. That has worked really well for me for the last few years
I think goad is actually the worst potency gambit to use for a few reasons. It is a slower animation, so you spend more time on a pretty bad effect, and the fist gambits are just so frequently used, that using goad for the final part of a desolation or to 33 clear 1 to get a single fist quickly is a much better use of it.
@@Louey7 Thank you very much Louey. Could you help me with another issue please? You say it's better to keep moving with Warden while inducting the skills. But how you keep moving in circles around the mob, facing him, while you utilise predetermined combinations skills for gambit as "spear and spear" for example? I ask because, my right button on mouse keeps the camera locked, so I can move around the mob facing him, but also I would use the mouse to click on the skills to prepare the gambit. It's impossible to do it while locking the camera with the right button of the mouse. You change any mouse/button/keys configuration to keep moving while you prepare your gambit skills? Sorry if I couldnt explain right what I meant.
It's even easier to play now. I miss mirkwood era warden when wardens had power issues. Dark before the dawn, which gives power only worked when you had less than 50 pc morale. Having to surf that morale line while keeping heals going was a lot of fun.
I've got a tip for u, learn to play with the keyboard. It will go faster in making gambits and gives u time to see what is actually happening on the screen
Louy7 first tip is crap DO NOT use pre builder masteries they r for noobs use ur freaking abilities the way they were meant to be used one click at a time gees louy7 im disappointed in you tbh
