I worked for the catering company that provided the craft services for the show. He was the only person on the entire set that learned my name and asked me how I was doing, he was a gentle giant and never once even raised his voice.

It's a very serious problem in this world that people can just harass you and follow you around with a camera like that. There's no excuse for harassing someone and making their life miserable just to profit off them like a parasite. We need a serious reexamining of how the press should operate.
It's considered fine when it's celebrities people don't like
It should be possible to film in public and for people to be in that film with or without their consent. But the law should be adjusted so that an individual cannot be the primary subject matter of the filming without their consent.
They could even make the consent implied, so that it's ok until the person says to stop.

I firmly believe that if a man like James Gandolfini gets angry enough to walk up on you and resort to physical confrontation, you probably had it coming. Anyone who ever spent any time around Jim would tell you he was the furthest thing from a confrontational guy and was never hot-headed with anyone. But his reaction was 1000% justified in this instance. Leave the man alone and let him be with his family.
