  • Here is an eBay link to the Discovery 2 Clutch Master & Slave Cylinders rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53...
    This time round, I deal will a very soggy and almost non-existent clutch pedal by replacing the Clutch Master and Slave Cylinders.
    Also in this video, I ponder what the first words spoken by aliens will be, when they finally visit planet earth and later, I drink some coffee.

      +Raj Masani Thanks Raj, looking forward to watching the world go by and other people rushing around. You're right, with a clutch that works, an engine that can breath and a chassis that wants to stay in one piece, it feels the way it was designed to be. :)

    How long did it take to bleed through once you'd put it all back together again? I've started the same job and can't get any pressure at all.

    No pressure switch on your clutch master cylinder ?

    Thanks for the complete video ! I'll try this (and succeed I hope) this weekend, my td5 got the same issue. I just have a little misunderstanding about the bleeding, what is the right order : Push ->Stay pushed + open the bleed -> close the bleed -> up -> push -> stay pushed + open the bleed ... and so on until no air in the system ?

    • @florian717
      @florian717 2 роки тому +1

      Ok I succeed ! Without any issue, everything is perfect now, I feel that I have a new car.
      I was alone for the bleeding but it went well. This is what I did : 3 clutch pushes, keep pushed on the 3rd with something, a stick, to leave the clutch pushed, open the bleeder for 3 secondes, close it, and all again. In five minutes it was done

    Oh, and I forgot the Watts linkage, new battery, full mat set, injector loom and fuel regulator . . . Happy Days . . . !

    Good vid, ta very much. I'll do my master cyl at the weekend due to it leaking. I take it you have not had the other fun issues like blown head, blowout rear airbags, duff starter motor, alternator, ign switch, radiator, blown top hose, both steering swivel pins on both sides, ACE leaking pipe and of course, the ubiquitous leaking sunroofs? Lol!

      None of the above but the Power Steering Pump has started playing up, and the 3 Amigos have made an appearance. :(

      Yes, might be an idea to check the alternator output though before looking at the ABS sensors. they all came on when my battery was dying. Oh yeah, I forgot I'm on my third steering box . . . Not always a good idea to buy second-hand I suppose. Mind you, any steering input from the driver I've always found to be entirely superfluous to the outcome of the journey!
      Well done with the chassis job, I wouldn't even contemplate doing that!

      That's interesting. Hadn't thought it might be caused by a dying battery. Will check that out. Cheers.

      My alternator went very insidiously. It behave perfectly normally but was only putting out 10 volts= chaos on the way home afetr a trip out.

    Of course the new clutch went in when they changed the engine - and air-con condenser - which still doesn't work . . .
