Thanks!
Is there a lift kit on it ??
Iv been working on an 04 Liberty renegade, your videos have been so helpful. Thanks man.
Thank you for watching!
@@RockyXTV did you have issues with your cv axles popping out after lifting it? My passenger side keeps popping out
The Super Swamper IROCK ND is the same tire I used to run on my TJ. I loved them! They suck in snow, but they'll go over and through anything else. Just make sure to get your tire pressures figured out right and keep up on the rotations. I wore my Swampers out prematurely because I ran too low a pressure for too long. :(
Renegade looks awesome man!!!!!!
Thanks! I've been trying out different pressures, still haven't found where I want them though. Thanks for watching!
Man that is so sick. I am hoping to buy a 4x4 KJ before winter. This is very close to what I'd like to do with it.
Thanks for checking it out!
Those rims are fricken awesome. Much better than the stock ones
I had an '06, if you have to have a KJ, these Renegades are the ones to get! I had a blast with it upstate NY. I had 31" Duratracs and it handled a foot of snow with no problem. Of course, I aired down. 🌨❄🌬 Definitely prefer a KJ Renegade than any 4 dr limo Turdler. At least the KJ was meant to be a 4 dr.
i have an 05 rocky Mountain KJ im planning on doing the lift next tax time, love the look of the rim and tire package, looks beast.
Thanks for watching!
Wow that looks awesome! Now time for you to build a tj up lol!
Looks good with the new wheel and tires.
Jeep looks great!! 👍
Thank you!
@@RockyXTV you're welcome! 🙋
I'm going with virtually the same suspension specs, wheel and tire size. Wheels arrived last week, lift kit should arrive next week and I'm still researching a tire choice.
Awesome! Turns out I didn't need to fold the pinch weld like everyone said, but I did have to trim a little off the front air dam/lower bumper plastic.
Thanks, that's good to know. Should save me some time when installing my lift kit.
Rocky X TV do you have a pic of how much material you had to trim from the fender/air dam/lower bumper? I actually had to pound the punch weld because of rubbing but I'm still getting a lot on the front when turning.
I didn't trim much, I need to trim more now that the new suspension has settled in.... I've got the front rub now to....
it looks amazing
Thank you for watching, don't forget to subscribe to keep up on all the new videos! Thanks again.
what is your back spacing on those wheels?
looks good. can not wait for the finished product.
Thanks!
Now that thing looks sharp just need to paint it red and half of it wrapped in camo Realtree I think if you had a different bumper on that still a factory with a winch it would really stand out
those wheels look sick! that spinning made me dizzy! can't wait to see it out on the trails now
Thanks! Sorry about the motion sickness, I wasn't sure if the spinning was too fast or not. I can't wait to see how she does on the trail! These tires are really loud on the road though, louder than the Nitto 35's on the JK!
lol not really too fast just too much lol. Yeah I have heard swampers are loud and they wear quickly too
Nice!
Thanks!
Why is the front not rubbing? Even with my original size tires, 0.5 cm remains on the fender during turning.
Did you need to change the gear ratio after installing bigger tires?
I did not as I have the Renegade package. This came stock with 3:73 gears, which are more than enough gearing for this size tire. Thanks for watching!
Did you have any rubbing in front, at the plastic inner fender protrusion (not sure how to describe it best, it is a plastic covered reinforcement at the lowest part of the wheel well)? Most people I talked to had to cut that plastic and bend the reinforcement. I am curious if you had that issue. Nice wheels though, are they very noisy?
At first I did not have to do any trimming whatsoever, but after the lift settled/sagged over some time I ended up having to trim quite a bit. As for the tires, YES they are very, very noisy. Thanks for watching!
Aup mate what's biggest tyre ya can put on a kj? I want mine to be like yours lol I want to swap my bonnet n grille for one of the flat ones that's on yours they look better I think
KJ's can be a little strange when it comes to tire sizes. When people lift them, one size will fit on one KJ but not another, even with the same lift... The most I've seen on a Liby is 31's with a regular lift and no rubbing. That being said, I couldn't fit regular 31's on mine after the lift, I had to go with 245/75LT16. Now you can fit bigger, but that's when you get into the more expensive and complicated lift kits with new coil-overs, CV axles and a bunch of other stuff...
Please suggest best bigger size rim (lift) for Jeep Liberty 2010 having 225/70R16
What did you do to bolster your sagging lift and what lift kit did you use that sagged on you? Thanks. I have an 03 limited that I'd like to do something with to make a fun mud, woods, camping rig. Also would 3:73 renegade gears easily swap into my earlier model do you think?
Hey man love the build! You said you had to take it back to stock suspension? I have an 03 limited I want to lift but want it to last, what would you suggest I do to prevent from going back to stock in a few years from failure of the lift kit? Also what's the difference between your tire size at 245/75 r16 vs 265/70 r16 I was reccomend? Thanks!
looking good man.I have a 06 liberty sport with a 3.5" lift and love it. How do the Super Swamper Tires handle on the road?
Pretty good so far, they are pretty noisy on the highway though, thanks for watching!
I'd like to see a remote start install...
I actually have that in the making! I'm just working out what company I'm gonna go with. I'm thinking Fortin, I used them for the Wranglers remote start.
Rocky X TV Hello, i have a quick question so i want to use 285, 70 R17 on my 2002 leep liberty how much a lift do i need?
and awesome videos it really inspires me to work on my own jeep and make it look awesome.
A 285/70R17 is a pretty big tire for a Liberty, that's around 32.75-33"X11-11.5" Most standard 2-3" lifts for the Liberty KJ won't allow that big of a tire without major cutting and fabrication. I had 3 inches of lift on mine and could only get something like a 31x9.50 under it, and it rubbed after the lift settled down to 2.75" The size you want to go would require a pretty substantial lift like the ones from Jeepin' By Al, but they are pretty expensive. Unfortunately for us Liberty owners, Jeep didn't really want people lifting them... Thanks for watching!
@@RockyXTV Thanks for the response. i looked into the jeepin' by Al tried contact them but they are discontinuing their lift kits since 1 june 2019. bummer. i saw this Skyjacker 3.5 Inch Suspension Lift Kit. what is your take on such lift?
I haven't looked into the SkyJacker. I knew things were not going the greatest with the Jeepin' By Al sales as he told me on the phone when we last spoke, but he didn't say anything about discontinuing their kits... That sucks!
Hey Rocky happy thanksgiving, I’m looking at upgrading to 17” wheels but they’re a different bolt pattern. What are your thoughts on spacers?
My personal preference is to avoid them. I've never had a set that ended well, but at the same time I've never had a set that went horridly bad either. If you had no choice, just make sure you're getting quality adapters/spacers, don't look for a bargain. Get hub-centric adapters/spacers and torque them regularly. That's if you have to use them, I just avoid them and get different wheels. That's all just my opinion though.
hey man. whats the offset on the wheels. I'm looking at getting some wheels that have a 0 offset to the they would stick out 2" wider. would they still work on my 2007 liberty with a 3" lift? i really don't what a flush wheel i would love a deeper looking wheel. I really hope a 0 offset will work.
A 0mm offset would push your wheels out further and you should be fine. If you go negative offset they will stick out even more, just don't go with a positive offset if you want your wheels to stick out. I wanted a stock stance on this build so I went with a 16x8" wheel with 5.25" backspacing, that comes out to a +19mm offset, this is very close to stock. Say I wanted the wheels to stick out, then I could have went with a 16x8" wheel with 4.50" backspacing, this would be a 0 offset. I hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching!
Rocky X TV thanks for the info.
I went to discount tire and chose the wheels I wanted. The Raceline shift wheel is the one I want but he said that the only offset had would push the wheels out to far.
So I’m stuck with getting the same wheel but it’s more flush. 17x8 5x114.3
And the tire size I’m going with is a 265/70R17
My car is 2004 is it fit and where can I find them and how much is it thank you guys
If you are asking about the lift kit, I would NOT recommend this kit as it has failed and destroyed my front suspension. I talk more about it in this video ua-cam.com/video/iwmnZh5dlJc/v-deo.html Thanks for watching!
where the steel bumper
You have a lot of cranium accessorises
That I do, thanks for watching!
What tires are they by what brand and where can i get em
They are Super Swamper IROK ND. Made by Interco Tire, they are available at most off road/4x4 sites. Thanks for watching!
Where can i buy that same front bumper and grill?
Es magnifico loque hace, ojalá lo pudieran compartir en Español. Gs. Saludos cordiales...
Any clearance issues with the front wheel well?
I did have to trim a little of the front air dam/lower bumper trim, it also has a little rub on the front of the fender liner on bumps at full lock but not too bad. I didn't need to do the pinch weld mod like everyone said, plenty of clearance back there. Thanks for watching!
how bad was the power loss with the bigger tires?
Hardly even noticeable! It helps that it's the Renegade edition, they come with 3:73's. Thanks for watching!
Ok buddy how much do ya want for the old rims ? I really like those over the plain silver aluminum wheels ..shoot me a message and let me know,, thanks.
The stock wheels may be going back on this year. The lift I installed has crapped out and screwed the entire front suspension, so I'll be putting her back to stock unfortunately. Unless I decide to pay out the $1400 for a good lift...
@@RockyXTV can you elaborate on what the lift did to the suspension? What kind of premature wear or failures can we expect? Also how many miles did you have on the lift?
What backspacing and offset are on those wheels?
16x8 with 5.25" backspacing, U.S Wheel made them in that backspacing for me. thanks for watching!
Thank you
what did you do with the stock rims ?
I still have them in storage. They'll be going back on soon though. The front lift and suspension has completely crapped out, so back to stock she goes... Thanks for watching!
WhT kind of lift? And tire size?
Would those tires fit with out the lift?
Hey how did u lift the front???
What is that bull bar called?
how many inches lift?
It was a 2" kit, but with the new springs it came out to 2.5" in the rear and 2.75 up front. Thanks for watching!
Have you pounded pinch weld? Do you have any rubbing on road?
I did pound down the pinch weld, but it turns out that I didn't need to as I have plenty of clearance behind the tires. It is a little close on the front of them though, but no rubbing on the road and full lock to lock steering without contact. Thanks for watching!
Hey Rocky. Any pointers on doing the pinch weld mod?
Not much to it, I suggest a 4lb Drilling Hammer and some paint to prevent rust after beating the crap out of it. Thanks for watching!
I'm about to give it a go. Will report back on how it goes. Thanks!
Is it easy enough to remove the wheel well liner entirely and pound it that way?? Or should I cut into the wheel well liner, pound it, then mend it back?
If I put 240/80/R16 tires on without lifting it do u think they will fit
I don't think they would fit without major clearance issues without using a lift. I'm not familiar with a 240/80/R16, but for example a 235/80R16 comes out to 30.8x9.3. The 9.3 wide is no issue, but the 30.8 is, that's basically a 31" tire. A 240/80/16 would be just over 31" I hope this info helps, thanks for watching!
Rocky X TV I meant to say 245/70/R16 lol
Those would be a better fit for a non lifted KJ, I can't say for sure on any rubbing though. Those would come out to 29.5x9.7 so I imagine they would be okay.
Rocky X TV where did you get all ur suspension parts? How much has the build cost you so far
All of the factory style suspension parts have came from Detroit Axle, I have a lot of their parts in my Amazon Storefront -www.amazon.com/shop/rockyxtv
I honestly have no clue how much the build has cost. Then again I probably don't want to know LOL!
Why a Liberty?
Why not? My channel also has a 2015 Jeep Wrangler if that is more your style, thanks for watching!
Awesome Jeep Liberty, check out my Jeep Liberty build.
Thanks! I'll be sure to give your rig a look!
