I also have the DVD, and I watch it often. I love how well their voices blend together. Only singers from that era could sing like that. I absolutely loved this show when it was originally on, and I'm so glad to have some of it now.
That control dionne has rivals that hell might be superior to Whitney. She stands un phased and just belts without any fatigue. That was most definitely a family gift the ability to belt on end without fatigue

Fab job by both. Wish I had been in the audience for this one. A goosebumps moment. They nailed this. A lot of work went into this performance during rehearsal. And, you can tell they were both feeling it! This rocket of a duet ROCKED... Took of like a rocket!!
I rather doubt there was an abundance of rehearsal for these three. Of their time they were indeed the consummate professionals, at the top of their game. Each with an instinct for timing, phrasing, and could walk on any stage at any time and bring the house down Acapella of they wanted to. Toni and Dionne we're just gifted like that.

I would give up the internet and my mobile if i thought this kind of programming and live performances of this caliber were waiting for me every saturday night again.

I never appreciated Toni Tennille during the 70s and boy I was wrong. Dionne was an established icon and you can tell she and Toni were having a "moment" with this number. And it is truly a television moment. Toni Tenille had true soul. And when Dick Cavette stepped in half way through producing The Captain and Tennille Show, making it more singing numbers - then did you see a growing number of A-list entertainers like Heart, Rufus and Chaka Khan and others who would never have done a Variety Show otherwise. But they did it because they wanted to perform with Toni Tennile. An amazing talent.

I definitely prefer Dionne over Toni, but Toni was not out of her league. I actually love and respect her more after watching this. There's just something about Dionne's effortlessness that is awesome to watch. She is one of a kind.
