Her head voice held up remarkably well...it was those higher chest notes that were the first to go. When a vocalist has given as much as she has vocally for such a long time and smoked heavily for just as long, of course there are vocal changes. I actually love the richness of her lower voice, and she works around her reduced range quite well...but she's a college educated musician, after all :) Love this performance and this song.
Just like Whitney in the end her head voice was still in tact it was that chest voice that needed a little TLC and with time would’ve came back or she would have reinvented herself as a vocalist as she did before. Dionne was a master at reinventing herself

Two Legends singing like nobody's business. This song is so fantastic. This song is so true to life. When you know when you must just let it go and move on.
I don't know about this Luther holding back or even Dionne holding back. They both sang the song with feeling and did not oversing the song. I did not see any "DIVA" moments of anyone trying to out do the other. Luther said throughout his entire career that Dionne meant more to him than anything. They both did a great job and those notes that Dionne hit towards the end was amazing.
A guy known as "Lobsterjesus" had some of the best footage available on Warwick. He was banned and his posts deleted. He has everything on Warwick. I hope he comes back under a new identity and reposts his Warwick collection.

Whitney was her first cousin (not niece), Whitney’s mother Cissy is Dionne’s aunt. The age difference throws off lots of people.
