@@kunar69 Wow it sucks, is this the only reason why you would like to risk somebodys life? Volvo trucks in Europa have system sinca a long time and it safe so many life's. And there are people too, saying its sucks but they DON'T plug it off.
Why would you want to disconnect safety features? Trucking firms in the UK would kick you out the door if you touch anything to do with safety features and try and disable them.
The versions of the "safety" features put on the US trucks simply just don't work as they're advertised (partially due to the higher speed of trucks in the US, but that's a whole other topic not to get into), not to forget the fact that the majority of what those systems do can be achieved by driving with actual care, such as leaving a reasonable amount of distance behind vehicles and paying attention to your driving. They're best for heavy traffic and areas with suddenly stopping traffic, outside of that they're just a nag. You can see in this video, and a lot of his videos, he's driving basically in the middle of nowhere most of the time. Main reason companies put those systems on their trucks is because 1. Liability and 2. It generally comes as part of a "safety" package which increases the resale value of the truck
@@fredmercury1314 That's great, but the "safety" package you'll get for most trucks won't include blindspot monitoring, or when its still on the truck the drivers still disable it because of the number of false positives they give. And the trailer isn't going to have absolutely any safety equipment besides ABS, and in some rare cases, tire monitoring. Most trailers in the US don't even have reverse lights. And that doesn't change that a lot of the trucks on the road today are either the most basic models, or pre-2008. It comes down to drivers either forgetting something, or not driving with care. Both from trucks and cars. These accidents don't happen because of the blindspots, they happen because people generally don't know about the blindspots, or the fact that it's not particularly safe to have a massive vehicle next to something 1/10th it's size.
I'd like a visual blind side aid like the mirror having a LED that blinks when I activate the signal if it detects a car. I never drove a new volvo but on Freghts, the auto brake system activated on me multiple times hard when it did not have a reason to, that thing can die in a fire.
I'm in a base model 2019 VNL760 and I love it. I've been in freightliners, KWs, and internationals and the volvo has been the best quality of life, ride, parts longevity, you name it.
Maybe they should make a safety system that is not so annoying. Volvo used to make good trucks but after driving this for 2 plus years now I can say I now hate Volvo trucks.
A "globetrotter" is someone who's constantly traveling the world. In Europe, "Globetrotter" is the name Volvo uses for the sleeper cabs on the FH series cabovers, with basic "Globetrotter" being the normal sleeper, "Globetrotter XL" being the high roof sleeper, and "Globetrotter XXL" being the new extended high roof sleeper cab. The Volvo USA marketing department brought the name over to use as a trim level for their two biggest models - on the 760 cab, it's just Globetrotter, and on the 860 it's "Globetrotter XL" to denote that the 860 is bigger than the 760. There is no "Globetrotter XXL" in the US.
The first Globetrotter cab was launched in 1980 on the F10 and F12 series, and I believe it was the first regular factory-built high roof sleeper, possibly in the world. I don't like these systems any more than you do but you gotta be real careful, especially in good old litigious US of A!
The guy I drive for is in love with Volvos. So he buys Volvos. Personally, I prefer Paccar...as in Kenworth or Peterbilt. Volvos are said to have longer springs for the steer axle and that is why they are said to ride better. Right now, I am driving a 670 with a 450 Cummins ISX and some sort of automatic transmission. It is set up for economy and therefore, shifts at 1500 rpm when starting from a dead stop. It may shift four or five times before you get through an intersection and it takes forever..!! In fact, if you are first in line when the light turns green, it may change again before you get through the intersection. I'll take a stick any day over this automatic...preferably a 13-speed. If I hauled heavy, an 18-speed would be useful, but for me, the 13 with the ability to drop half gears on a pull works best. I can see that you are glad to get away from that Freightliner/Western Star 5700...they are almost as ugly as an International Lonestar. Maybe a 760 or 870 (or whatever the model numbers are) Volvo would be better, but the 670 is a bit cramped for my liking... I drove a 579 Pete with a deleted 455 MX with a 13-speed and it pulled like it was 500 plus. And the ride was darned good as well. And those damned distance alarms/lane departure warning things are turning an entire generation of truckers into steering wheel holders. You can pull the fuse, relocate your license plate, or take the cover off and aim the damned thing up into the air so it quits making noise, whatever you can get away with. I managed to log over 4 million accident-free miles without all that electronic shit so I just ignore it when it goes off. Or turn the stereo up.
You need to have right combination of transmission and rear end gear ratios, you guys talk a lot but mostly air!!! 400 hp engine can move any truck at 150 mph with right drivetrain. You can't say truck A is faster than truck B
I had my 770 for 14 years and I always looked forward to driving it, I couldn't wait for my 10 hour break to be over🙂🙂 My truck was one of the first ones on the road, other drivers in the truck stops while getting fuel or resting would ask me to see inside and they would ask all kinda questions for several months 🙂🙂👍
Dude, I wouldn't disconnect the radar, if something happens and you rear-end a truck or a car or whatever on the highway, you could possibly be held liable

What a cry baby. Oh and when they take it into Volvo for whatever reason they always plug the truck in. The ECU records all the faults, when they happen, how long etc. Good way to void your warranty lol all because of a beeping.
Shit, my company had the radar systems disconnected on all their Volvos. We just got a 579 Peterbilt and they wanted my input on a few things and went ahead and had the Pete reprogrammed.

Now that´s a nice Volvo you´ve got there! I´m looking forward of you reviewing it. And as always I´ve watched till the end... this was very kind of you. 😃✌
I put 500k on a 2013 Volvo before the company traded it in. I left clawmarks down the side of the truck when they drug me out of it and stuffed my ass in a brand new Kenworth. The KW is so much smaller, I had to put in for hometime to get rid of stuff. I can't complain about a brand new KW but I cook in my truck and try to exercise so the extra space in the Volvo was awesome. It was also super dependable, great ride with super singles and the 12 speed I-drive is the best automatic I've ever driven by far.
You should not disconnect the volvo adaptive cruise because that thing will save your life once... trust me it has saved me in a volvo FH the european volvo truck

Imagine the look on the company owners face if that happened. The cruise control radar is annoying, but bragging about disabling it online is asking for trouble.
@Sasha Braus It´s funny to see that Volvo sells 2021 made trucks with an, Volvo FH series dashboard, which was launched in1993. The "new" (European) FH series which was released in 2014 is already getting, not old, but well worn. ua-cam.com/video/jieVDAw4QP4/v-deo.html 1993: ua-cam.com/video/PxKEoTJQTVo/v-deo.html And just to inform you why we do not have nose built and apartment sized sleepers on our trucks. It´s all about strict total length regulations. I´m from Sweden and our maximum total length is 25,25 meters (about 82 feet) and maximum total weight is 64 tonnes (about 141 000 lb). This would normally have to be distributed on, at least, 7 axles. The latter is simplified because there are other uncountable regulations (like axle distances and so on...) to follow before your combination will comply to the weight allowance. For this simple reason we cannot have these beautiful trucks like the VNL860.

This Volvo faster than Western Star & Frightliner 👍🤘❤️
It's not.. His company is wide open and not governed at 65
Not mines. 2021 cascadia with the DD16. 😎
You need to have right combination of transmission and rear end gear ratios, you guys talk a lot but mostly air!!! 400 hp engine can move any truck at 150 mph with right drivetrain.
You can't say truck A is faster than truck B
I had my 770 for 14 years and I always looked forward to driving it, I couldn't wait for my 10 hour break to be over🙂🙂
My truck was one of the first ones on the road, other drivers in the truck stops while getting fuel or resting would ask me to see inside and they would ask all kinda questions for several months 🙂🙂👍
You actually got me when you said you didn't get the truck lol
@17:10 looks like that guy also disconnected that front radar ;-)
Nice Volvo man !!
Great work rusty. Good thing happen to people who wait nice rig. Sounds a lot quieter as well. Cheers mate from Australia
What a nice truck the other I watch a documentary of the factory assembling these.
lets goo! hopefully this beauty is a good one and gives you the best ride as you deserve Rusty! Deuces!
Man that is great your new truck came in! Be safe!
@Hello Eddie how are you doing
@@lydiacapps709 I am doing great, I drove back in the middle to late 70's
@@eddieatkins9730 ok I hope we can get to know each if you don’t mind
Dude, I wouldn't disconnect the radar, if something happens and you rear-end a truck or a car or whatever on the highway, you could possibly be held liable
Talking from a person who helped Walter with his “money” problem.....
just plug it back in ezpz
I VERY much need and want one of the 2cups things for my truck that is cool. And your new truck is bad ass. Congrats bro
@Hello Robert how are you doing
Sounds like the company you work for is pretty nice.
Ohh, wow... VNL have same shape/Looks of windscreen, rear view mirrors, dash etc... that area as of FH16 cabover i drive.
Yah, volvos comfort is amazing..... you will love her rusty, beleive me
Volvo is awesome..... hope you love it as much as I love mine...
If I had an 860 with governored 75 mph, I'd be a happy camper
dro good to see just read the manual the beep and flashing light are there to help you it the same VNL 860XXL for your safety
Perfect video. I love the driving scenery, your commentary and the choice on music. That Volve looks perfect.
@Hello PB how are you doing
Sweet new ride. Those 2cups are awesome. Would love one.
@Hello how are you doing
Good evening Rusty, I am Isaac from South Africa and a truck driver myself. Man I wanna come and work that side as I have applied for job that side so I am waiting. I watch your video all the time and you really are do inspire me to come and work with you there man.
2 cups 1 driver lmao 😂
🤣
One for soda and the other for water😜
Glad you got the truck you wanted... She looks amazing
Does your company have any issues with you disconnecting any of the mentioned features on your truck?
If they didn't know about it they know now. Deactivating safety features and endangering their brand new truck, the load and the lives of other drivers because they don't like the beeping. What a cry baby.
Oh and when they take it into Volvo for whatever reason they always plug the truck in. The ECU records all the faults, when they happen, how long etc. Good way to void your warranty lol all because of a beeping.
@@DIRF04 beeping doesn’t let you concentrate so if your tired, that’s a accident.
@@Zoneeee13 beeping when tired keeps you awake and alert
@@Zoneeee13 If you’re sleepy enough that a beeping breaks your concentration, pull over and take a break.
Shit, my company had the radar systems disconnected on all their Volvos. We just got a 579 Peterbilt and they wanted my input on a few things and went ahead and had the Pete reprogrammed.
Congrats for your new toy
Congratulations Rusty. 😍 I love Volvo Trucks and I like Volvo FH 16 Globetrotter 750 (cab-over truck ). Love from India
Also from India
You should get satellite system on this! Dish makes a portable satellite system called the dish hopper. Much love from overseas man!!! Hope you enjoy your new globetrotter man!
I'd love one of those 2Cups, and man that Volvo woooweee
Bony m
Def want one of those 2 CUPS for my KW! That is pretty awesome!
"GLOW-BEE-TROTTER" 😉😆😎..... Just messing with you Rusty. Be safe out there!.....
Yes the vnl is the best truck on the road right now in America in my opinion
Ladies and gentlemen..
He's back 🤣👍
I've been waiting for a video!
Now that´s a nice Volvo you´ve got there! I´m looking forward of you reviewing it. And as always I´ve watched till the end... this was very kind of you. 😃✌
Guys, I guess we will never see the Volvo rebuild series ever again 😥😪
Na, we probably will. Probably just trina make some bread first and work on other stuff
Oh you will,,. Soon
@@TheRustyCracker You got a new volvo from the company, Dam they must love you!! Plus Rusty please don't break this one lol.
@@TheRustyCracker nice truck 👍
Woow love it! Volvo are getting better day by day💙
First time I watched your videos. Thumbs Up BEAUTIFUL VOLVO!!!! Stay well Frankie L.I.
@Hello Frank how are you doing
I put 500k on a 2013 Volvo before the company traded it in. I left clawmarks down the side of the truck when they drug me out of it and stuffed my ass in a brand new Kenworth.
The KW is so much smaller, I had to put in for hometime to get rid of stuff.
I can't complain about a brand new KW but I cook in my truck and try to exercise so the extra space in the Volvo was awesome.
It was also super dependable, great ride with super singles and the 12 speed I-drive is the best automatic I've ever driven by far.
I love my volvo. It's like driving a Cadillac lol. Love the videos and be safe out there
@Hello Frank how are you doing
Nice truck but again be careful anything collision and DOT or company sees that radar unplugged puts you at fault automatically.
I would love to have a 2 cups!!!
@Hello Derek how are you doing
Glad you got the Volvo, hope you can keep it. Thanks for another video.
Finally!!!!
Nice truck R.C. Stay safe and enjoy.
1:04 ngl he had us in the first half
Right tho 😂
You should not disconnect the volvo adaptive cruise because that thing will save your life once... trust me it has saved me in a volvo FH the european volvo truck
Does Volvo still have Globetrotter name, that is beautiful old name? Globetrotter means world traveller so nice name for a truck :) Thank you for the video ! I have seen Globetrotters here in Finland all my life, I like F12 most. Circulating the world = Globetrotter :D
@Hello Pentti how are you doing
I pick up a brand new 2021 Freightliner next Tuesday first Automatic iv ever driven the Truck itself is extreamly nice but 15 yrs of 13/15 & 18 Speed Kenworth and Classics honestly it is a great truck I can wait to pick it up
I think globetrotter just means, that you are travlling around the world;)
Scooby Doo is big in Sweden and the Harlem Globetrotters have solved more than one mystery on that show. Hence Globetrotter.
Nice truck bro im gonna start my Journey Schneider ,be safe driving
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
This truck looks awesome! Every new truck has those sensors so I guess you can never find the perfect truck since you hate them so much but maybe you will get used to them after a while :)
finally vnl 860 greets you warmly
I’ll take one of those cup holder things.
Nice video. Glad to see you back!!! Be SAFE!!
Hey Rusty you should really watch "Luke C in a HGV" and watch the difference between UK Hauling and USA Hauling. You will find it interesting. He is a tramper so does layover work.
Some say he’s still rebuilding a Volvo.
thats the way i found him :)
man alot of people saying that your old truck looks bad, for me it looks more badass than the new one
10:43 LOL! I read "Probably assembled in the USA"
Like...hmmm, thats wierd xD
I watched a video from Volvo on this truck..Man that is a nice truck..I don't know why Volvo gets a bad rap. I'd get one
@Hello Michael how are you doing
Dobra robota, miło się ogląda 😃
Congratulations rusty nice truck God bless truck driver God bless United States of America love you so much from morocco ❤ life is beautiful ☺
Finally keep the content coming 🙏
Congrats, Rusty on the new Volvo.safe trip.
Imagine the look on Crusty's face if he gets into an accident and while in court the other guys lawyer plays UA-cam video of Crusty bragging about disabling safety equipment on his company truck. Imagine the look on the company owners face if that happened. The cruise control radar is annoying, but bragging about disabling it online is asking for trouble.
See that crash in Dallas he got backed up at? All companies are going to it...lowers insurance rates.
My thoughts exactly
That's a very hot semi truck but I love the background of the semi track but just Keep On Truckin and stay safe to all who drive semi tracks
I think rusty should prank her company that the volvo broke down lol
@Sasha Braus It´s funny to see that Volvo sells 2021 made trucks with an, Volvo FH series dashboard, which was launched in1993.
The "new" (European) FH series which was released in 2014 is already getting, not old, but well worn.

And just to inform you why we do not have nose built and apartment sized sleepers on our trucks.
