UPDATE: I slightly over filled and had to drain a little at the end off camera, also I did change the main fuel filter on drivers side when dealer had in stock. More videos coming soon! DUECES!
I do punch holes bottom of the filters. Much cleaner oil chance that way.
She's a beauty Rusty. I know you are proud to be getting this truck on the road as owner/operator. Best of luck to you brother and can't wait to see more videos.
tip:make hole on bottom of that oil fiter before un screwing it that makes that lot cleaner
I also write on the filters the date and miles. Also, I snap a picture of the odometer. Then I grease the whole truck and 5th wheel plate.
So Volvo designs a truck, designs the filters, tells them how to do the procedure CORRECTLY and the guy decides: "naaaaa... I'll do it my way!" Dear Lord....
Your Dad taught you well Rusty !
a trick you can use is get a Oil funnal cover the hole as soon you drop there plug drop it into the funnal the oil will coming the funnel but plug will sit in it until you move funnel then you have it put funnal over bucket just grab the funnel tip the funnel over then get the plug right into your hand
Screw driver punched to the bottom helps drain the filters won't burn yourself.
Rusty, 9 gallons is what D13 likes. It looked like you overfilled a bit.
She’s looking good Rusty. Can’t wait for the first video on being on the road. Congratulations. God Bless
That drain valve is the best. I used them in my Duramax's with 0 Issues...
rusty definitely deserves to be owner op,bros driven like 5-6 different trucks, even a day cab for a day,and he's been through so many trials and tribulations as i'm sure others like him as a truck driver have been through, his time has come 🙌🏾
That’s great that you are hands on and know how to work on your truck. Good stuff
Number 1 as alway thumbs up Rusty for providing such an amazing video
If h wanna drain them quicker poke holes in the bottom of the filters.
Those drain plugs are good as long as they don't get knocked off by something, and yep oil filters tell you that but I have hade them come loss by hand tightening. I always snug them up with a wrench.
Coolant filter should be done every 100k miles
I mean if you're interested in it. I usually use a center punch to poke a hole in the bottom of the oil filter as it's a little cleaner and easier
Should just use the OEM Volvo oil filter socket wrench tool ,it's way easier & don't scratch or dent the filters
