dude thank u, all other metallic text photoshop vids just try and show how replicate the effect on flat w bevels and stuff 💀this is some real 3d! youre the goat
In case anyone was wondering why every menu option might be greyed out...make sure your document is in RGB mode. Magically everything works. Image menu > Mode > RGB color
Hey!! Little late to this video, but looking for the "deactivate native canvas" setting in the latest photoshop and don’t see it. Any setting updates I should check instead or is that step not relevant anymore? Thank you, love the video!
telling me to desactivate that option before starting saved my life lol i've been trying for days to replicate the effect but it was always bugging so thank youuu
Hi guyyy, thank you for your explanations which are really good! I however have a problem, when I put 40% on the strength, the volume only goes in the upper left corner, so there is no 3D at all :/ I don't know how to fix the problem...... Have you seen it before or do you know how to fix it? Thnx for everything btw!!
Hi, I had the same problem and doing some research I found that PS is phasing out 3D effects so slowly many features are being taken out and causing problems. They don't plan to bring it back and now I'm sad cuz I really wanted to do a cool banner for my behance profile :(
Hey there, this effect can be tricky with all the settings. Make sure that you have the latest updated Photoshop and that you check "deactivate native canvas" on the system preference box. Close and reopen Photoshop after this. Give this a try. Hope this helps ✌🏼!
Hello! Could you list which version of Photoshop you're using in 3D videos? Since Adobe is removing the 3D features from PS, it would be nice to know which version to roll back to in order to follow the guide.
subscribeddddd!!! you saved me a hella big learning curve on blender just because i am obsessed with chrome text! more tutorials like this, short, chill and straight to the point, regarding people who struggled with applying the effect back and front even though you selected it. click on the BACK INFLATION MATERIAL layer and apply the same effect. Thank you!!
Thank you so much for the tutorial, I've been looking at so many videos to try to do this effect and your video was the easiest to follow and had the best results
Hi Elbert thank you for sharing this! Great video. I don't want to be a bother, but I am struggling with the environment portion around 3:50-3:55 in video. The separate psb file opens completely black. I have my preferences set to deactivate native canvas. Any idea what could be going wrong?
Hi! I had the same problem, and just figured it out! Make sure your photoshop is updated to latest update. Once I did that, the checkered board window showed up :)
The 3d panel is completely grayed out for me, ive tried double checking all the steps you said, and restarting photoshop multiple times but it's still grayed out. I saw photoshop is getting rid of 3d features, could this be why?
This tutorial helped me immensely, however I’m stuck at the moment of applying the textures over the 3D text, you said in the video to Command + Save, when I try to do that I only get a full sized texture that doesn’t apply over my text? Anyone know how to help?
HELLO there, i would like to thank you so much for that constructive video. i did learn a lot about PS and i really like the way you present everything. Thank you so much
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I learned how to create realistic textures using this method. It worked for me once, but I've been trying to create the same metallic effect but when I go to apply the Metal Chrome (checkered) material, its really huge & out of proportion causing the textures end up looking really stretched out and pixelated. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I've looked everywhere online for an answer and can't seem to find one :(((((
damn, this is amazing! i am kind of a beginner, but i got there eventually haha and i love the results! gonna practice more for sure, obv still gonna watch this video, while doing it for now hehe so thank you very much for doing lords work!
Hi! Please, I need some help. I'm having some problems with defining the borders, they're kind of pixelated... How can I fix it? 😊 thanks! amazing tutorial ✨
Sick video! thank you so much. I have only one question, when I export the final file from Illustrator the edge of the text is pixelated. Does it also happen to you? Does anyone have suggestions to fix it? Thanks :)
Hey! This is an amazing video. Thanks so much. I am running into a problem. when I go toenvironment, edit texture, and drop the image on the checkered surface, the text is not actually affected. the picture just sits on top of the texts, and I can kinda see the outlines of my text, but the text isn't affected. what could be wrong?
Hey! Thanks a bunch for this tutorial as it has opened my eyes for more stuff I had no idea Adobe PS could do! :) I have one question; How do I apply the texture I choose to go on both the front and backside of the object I am texturizing? If I rotate it a little too much before saving it as a PNG I see the other half (backside) being black. Keep it up with the great content!
dude thank u, all other metallic text photoshop vids just try and show how replicate the effect on flat w bevels and stuff 💀this is some real 3d! youre the goat
Haha, appreciate it. Made my day frl, thanks for checking out the content 🔥. Stoked that it helped out!

In case anyone was wondering why every menu option might be greyed out...make sure your document is in RGB mode. Magically everything works.
Image menu > Mode > RGB color
thnx bro
this is the best advice i have ever received
Because RGB is for screen.. its additive color mode and CMYK is subtractive color model and is for print media..
Hey!! Little late to this video, but looking for the "deactivate native canvas" setting in the latest photoshop and don’t see it. Any setting updates I should check instead or is that step not relevant anymore? Thank you, love the video!

He man this video is great but do you think you could make a new tutorial using ps23?
yeah, I can't find the icon in the properties panel and I think it's due to the update
This was so great! Do you have an alternate technique for this now that Photoshop removed this capability?
for those who use windows : you find the "preferences" click option under "edit" then "generals" :)
