The brick structure reminds me more of a fire station than an airport terminal. The take off in the rain, great shot!
Wow! What a nice, clean, and easy airport to get in and out of. Great video.
It's great to see a video of the Boeing 717! These are rare!
I love the 717's! Especially the takeoff thrusts.
WOW, that surely was a quick takeoff run, about like a Dash-8 Q400 or ATR-72. I'm so disappointed that Boeing did not hold on to this bird for a longer time than 2004.
The Boeing 717 had so much potential in replacing birds like the aging DC-9s or perhaps the Fokker 100. I'd prefer flying a plane like this or even a Q400 as opposed to flying on board another CRJ-200 again, that's for sure!
Highly enjoyable footage
Awesome work! I just flew on this same plane today! And the same exact seat.
Was the beginning supposed to be an easter egg? “6:11” caption. The famous locomotive 611 is from Roanoke.
Sadly Delta for whatever reason stopped the 717 flights, and now as of 2019 only flies seasonally (not during the summer) one mainline A319 flight a day. Some Delta RJ flights have been upgauged to a CRJ900 though. Extremely disappointing, but we can’t really complain as Delta is the only airline flying full size jets to ROA regardless besides Allegiant. CHO which is about 2 hours away still gets 717 flights. Most of the flights that come up when I look to fly to ROA are the CRJ100/200. I don’t live in Virginia personally and my local airport doesn’t even have commercial air service so I have to drive about an hour away when I want to fly, so I’m just glad Roanoke has commercial service regardless
Nice shot! you took of from RNWY 15 or 16? Glad you chose Roanoke to do business in and I hope you come again soon.
I've just looked at the Roanoke Airport diagram on Adobe Reader. It looks like he took off from Runway 16 out of Roanoke. I saw the terminal go buy just as the bird left the airstrip.
TY
Thanks for the safety booklet. If you crashed I would have known what to do!
Do people see that that plane looks like an MD-80
They are both modernizations/derivates of the DC-9.
The 717 is actually an MD-95 , but it was renamed because Boeing bought McDonnell Douglas
