I had the distinct pleasure of flying on a 757 out of Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport this past Sunday evening while returning from a week's vacation in Melbourne,Florida enroute to LAX. I think this was my first flight on a 757 unless I am wrong. Anyway, the power this plane has on takeoff is enormous! Also, I like the feature on the screen in front of you on the back of the seat. With this, you can elect to either watch an inflight movie or even choose to activate an actual flight tracker. Here you can track the status of your own flight while you are airborne and even after you land at your destination! I chose to utilize the flight tracker feature and it was the first time I have ever done that. It was simply amazing! While in flight, you can obtain the ground the speed of the aircraft, the altitude, your estimate ETA at your destination, the current time there, and even the current time from where you departed from! It even displayed the temperature outside of the aircraft at 35,000 feet! BRRRR!
Basically yes since it is the main hub of Delta Airlines. The amount of flights coming and going from this massive airport is almost beyond comprehension! You could spend an entire day there and never grow tired of the action both on the tarmac as well as on the runways!
The 6 story beige hotel, which can be seen in this video just before turning on the runway on the left opposite the airport is where the Atlanta Airport used to be between 1950-1979. The current terminal is, of course, between the runways and was built in 1980..
I love flying out of this airport. There main philosophy is to get people in and out of there and they sure do a good job of it. Being Delta's HQ it sure is full of delta planes, and more, and more... plus even more delta
Poop MgGeeh can’t wait to travel with them this summer. I’m going to North Carolina on Delta Airlines. I was going to go on American but I wanted Delta instead. And the customer service people at Delta is very friendly. I have heard nothing but good things about Delta. They seem pretty popular out of all the airline companies.
I flew out of Atlanta on my way to Cancun, i Remember because we got to fly on one of deltas 753 big treat. We were also on the tarmac For over an hour. We taxied from terminal six Down Taxiway L to the Very end. crossed the end of runway 09 Left and right, We then proceeded on the taxiway Romeo, Sierra Charlie then Sierra golf to runway 10. If you look at Atlantis airport diagram You'll see it's Quiet around about way to go huh.
People do not realize that these 757 planes are dinosaurs with oil leaks, system malfunctions, and all other kinds of issues that comes along with keeping a old hooptie in the sky.......however Delta loves their 757 aircraft and is still having a hard time letting go.....even though they are slowly retiring over 30 757s with the 737-900 aircraft.
+joey Galileo Hotto Some 757's use Rolls Royce RB211 engines which have a notorious buzzsaw sound. Deltas 757's mainly use Pratt & Whitney PW2037 engines which are a little quieter.
I'm an atheist, but this is like reaching up to touch the face of God. So elegant. I'm going to San Francisco next year and hope to take off at Atlanta-Hartsfield, and I hope its a night flight!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope you have/had fun at San francisco! San francisco is a truly magnicificent city (my personal favorite). I really miss living there (I now live in Texas). SFO also has a wonderful takeoff/landing ocean view!
This camera quality is absolutely phenomenal
I am really gonna miss the 757s when they're gone.
So am I with a passion! They are such magnificent flying machines!
Love this airport I have been here before and it's huge!!! This is the home bace for delta that's why their is so many delta airplanes

this is my fav plane the 757 delta and i love the md 80 and nice video
Where were you flying to?
If any of you wanted to know, the plane was going to Kansas City.
Is it a coincidence that you are in a 757 and your video is 7:57 ??

At 2:35 is that a Janet unmarked airline from Vegas? If so, what's it doing in Atlanta?
If you don't mind me asking where were you headed?
Great video. You can tell it's a Delta hub :-D
Very steep and powerful take-off at ATL. Very great recorded!! THUMBS UP!! What,s your flight-destination?
3 min 15 sec to 10,000 feet from about an 1,100 foot point of takeoff at ATL. Quite fast climb.
Sounds like the attendant said Kansas City. 1 hr 45 min sounds pretty quick for that route.
Cool! How do you fly so much though?
how many of those little md 90 jets are there back there at 0:24
yey, thats 4 in a row :)
Because alanta city airport is the busiest airport
What seat is this?
There's a lot of delta!
Love the video! :)
Its mostly a combination of airtran, southwest and delta here at KPIT..
That old 8l departure
It looks like he was climbing really fast. He got above the clouds quickly.
Nice catch! Looks like it!
Great video! 5ubscribed
we took off at the same runway!
wow i like it
I love planes!
my flight out of madison wi will be connecting there, I've been there before, the airport is insanely big!
isn't that a Janet 737 at 2:36?
+bigjoe686659 It sure looks like it! Maybe it was there for maintenance, I know Delta does some outsourced maintenance, maybe for the government also!
It's a long ways from Area 51...Wait - What secrets are going on here in Atlanta that we don't know about?
Why is it that some 757's have the buzz sound during takeoff and some do not?
+joey Galileo Hotto Some 757's use Rolls Royce RB211 engines which have a notorious buzzsaw sound. Deltas 757's mainly use Pratt & Whitney PW2037 engines which are a little quieter.
You don't get the buzz saw sound behind the engines generally
Yep I was in the A 320-200 all the way in the back and all I heard was just strong wind and thundering sounds
It's about 34 or 35F
I hope that's my flight to Nashville in September.
my uncle flies the delta 767 and hes the captian of it!
what is at 2;36
I was going to take this flight tomorrow to Orlando, but my trip has been canceled I'm saddened and heartbroken,
