I mix everything because at 65 I still love most of the things I’ve thrifted and collected over the years. I mix rustic, southwest, Victorian, a touch of modern, . You name it, anything goes!! My home is relaxed and so comfy. Our main sofa is a large overstuffed down cushion love seat we bought in 1999. The fabric is like a dull velour in a dark mushroom color. Everything I pick up works so well with it. Time to do a bit of restuffing the cushions. I love your home and how you have my same attitude towards mixing it all up. Love your redo spirit from across the pond!!! ❤️
I had an obsession with vintage lamps in the 90s but down sized and got rid of most. Tomorrow I’m going to be brave and tear the material off the shade of one of them and wrap some faux wool on it. I wrapped all my light shades in the house in rope and raffia but I’m worried I’m going to regret tearing the shade to this lamp tomorrow. 😳🤔🤭🫣🫣🫣🫣
Deep breath and go for it! There are some amazing yarns about at the moment, lots of chunky wool and faux wool plus faux fur yarn!! Let me know how you get on😃
Love the herb idea. Was thinking I have expired sesame seeds. Love how you twist coir rope on cords. I’ve made cloth covers for electrical cords but I may try your idea. Susanne in Montana
Thankyou for this video and for sharing this spectacular idea.I have just tried it on an old vase and very pleased with the results. Cayenne pepper dates back to best before 14/11/15 ! Oops
Helloooo and thank you for being here! Have you got lamps that need a makeover? Never tried it? Or are you a regular revamper? We love it here when you share! 🥰
Tracey great work! I love all lamps Transformations, they Look definetly high end and i so love the vintage look of them, you are so talented! Thx for sharing greetings from austria with many blessings to you 🙋♂️🤗🫶💐
Oh my gosh❤️ perfect timing. I just, this morning, was thinking about up cycling some thrifted lamps for the homeless housing apartments I’m working on. You and I are kindred spirits 👍
Love the use of rope etc. I’m doing a young boys room kinda safari theme and it will look fab to do the lamp like yours. Thank you for giving me so many inspirational ideas to make these apartments homey, so these folks feel welcome.
We are! Upcycling lamps for the apartments would be ideal. I’m guessing you have someone checking all your donated electrical items just to be safe? I know my local charity shops do that xx
Thank you so much for showing us your lamps. I've never really seen all the different rope and Twine. Been wanting to see how you wrap the Lampshades. Going to do my mother's old floor lamp. Thanks so much for your ideas and your videos.
Wow, this is one unique, one of a kind lamp ! Love the technique and wrapped cord. Love that you have such an eye for balance. The 3 new vessels on the other side are spot on. You really make me want to experiment. I am going to look for some interesting lamps at my thrift shop. The rub and buff turned out beautifully on the small antler lamp. I have always loved metal lamp shades. I did do a project I think is right up your alley with the Easyfil..... I first age terra cotta pots. Then I take a similar product and mix in a nice moss green paint. Then , I found a gorgeous plastic fern stencil. I tape it to the front of the aged pot and stipple on the Easyfil to make a raised fern on the front of the pot. It turns out so wonderful for the garden. I made a large and med pot. My girlfriend loved them so much, that I made her a set for her birthday. And filled them with new garden gloves, some seed packets, and vintage garden hand tools Makes a unique gift.
Wonderful lamp makeovers!! I am definitely trying your stone effect as it seems so much more natural than all those videos where they are dabbing paint splotches all over the piece. You are amazing!
Oooh! I 🙏 i absolutely enjoyed your video Tracey, I loved all the lamps but I’ll have to choose the black lamp that came out so stinking gorgeous with the rub and buff effect. Gland you persisted with the cayenne pepper as that seems to have paid off. Well done on another gorgeous transformation ❤
These so beautiful, now deciding which to use. I have a smallish lamp on my kitchen counter with just a plain white shade desperately needs a make over .☺️💕 Thank you for sharing .
Tracey, the addition of chives is fabulous!!! I adore that hint of earthy green the chives lend to your stone technique! 💚 & your nail color is so pretty and spring ready! I love it! 💖 The white on the table 🤍🤍🤍 The little antler lamp turned out so nice!
Hi from Canada , I’m new here just came across your channel by browsing and I have to say I LOVE your approach on recycling old things to give them a new life. We have enough throwing-away in our society. Keep up the good work 👍👍😊
Tracy, I found your channel right before Christmas, I watched all of your Christmas makeovers during the holidays! Loved them all!! I shared them with friends and now you have more fans in the US (across the pond)😊 Thank you for giving me new ideas and inspiration..you have an amazing home, and you are a MASTER designer. I'm currently watching all of your Sping and Summer editions from last year..keep them coming!❤
Tracey, I am so pleased I found you! I have now done 4 lamps, I did the last one with your stone affect and used coir, I have done them all this week 😂 can’t wait for car boot season now 👍🏻 thank you , lots of love Caroline xx
Well…it’s happened again😃 I’m out thrifting this morning. Struck up a conversation with the nicest lady. As soon as she started talking, I had to ask her where she’s from…..of course she said England. I told her that I follow an amazing lady on UA-cam who lives in Sussex. Small world because that’s where she grew up. That’s the 4th Englander I’ve met in a matter of weeks, how about that. Oh….LOVE the lamps!!!!❤️❤️❤️
It’s such a vibrant colour! Cinnamon is great, mine is all in date and I cook with it a lot so the cayenne was a random substitute as I don’t use it any more 😄Thanks so much for watching 🤗
Stumbled on your channel and just love your content. I finally know what to call my style: rustic neutral! I love it! I love thrifting and upcycling or repurposing pieces. You are so talented and refreshing!! I can't wait to see what's next , especially autumn and Christmas videos. Cheers.
Welcome! Delighted you found me! I don’t know if ‘rustic neutral’ is a term the world of designers use but if it best describes our style then let’s use it! 🤎🤍
Just Curious does the joint filler hold up? Here in the USA people were using baking power mixed with paint and after a few months time it just falls off even after you've sealed it.
It does! I’ve don’t this for several years with the wall filler and everything is as good as when I first did it. It sets completely solid. I only use this method for indoors though as it’s not waterproof 😊
How come that all Tracy are so cute and amazing! There is Tracy, that is as sunny as you are and she has a chanel about upcycling clothing. I think you would enjoy her videos a lot! Tracy Myers, I think.❤
I LOVE the look of the lamp with all the spices tucked into the plaster. I have a question on how to finish it, do you "seal" the fill/plaster once you've let it all dry? Like using a matt polyurethane on it - to help keep those spices from falling out (if they tend to do that or not?) This is a great idea to use on two lamps for my living room - THANK YOU for the idea!!
I don’t seal it as the spices don’t come out if you have worked them in. However if it’s in a high tough area then it wouldn’t hurt to give it a spray with a matt varnish 😀
Oh Debbie I’m a total neat freak!! 😂 I don’t like cleaning though but I re style so often that it does get a regular thorough clean. As for storage, check out the full property tour coming this Sunday! Lots will be revealed then😉

Ooooh yes Susanne the sesame seeds would add texture and interest, give it a go! 🥰🥰🥰

Love the use of rope etc. I’m doing a young boys room kinda safari theme and it will look fab to do the lamp like yours. Thank you for giving me so many inspirational ideas to make these apartments homey, so these folks feel welcome.
Another thing I love, about your ideas, is no need for a shade, because so many of the donated lamps don’t have shades.
We are! Upcycling lamps for the apartments would be ideal. I’m guessing you have someone checking all your donated electrical items just to be safe? I know my local charity shops do that xx
It’s such a wonderful thing you are doing Kathie 👏🏼🥰
Yes I tend to paint or wrap the lamp holders and by adding a nice bulb it can make a real statement ❤️
Oh my gosh, I love how you just give it a try and see what happens. The turnout is just amazing.
Great work! 🤗
Thanks so much! 😊 Always willing to ‘risk it for a biscuit’ 😅
Watching from Cape Breton, Canada. I love the process you use to update lamps and pots. I will be trying this for sure.
Hope you enjoy it! I love doing both 😊Thanks so much for watching 🙏🏻🤗
Such unique ideas ty for sharing!

Lovely projects again 💖 (instead of Cayenne try Cinnamon - I use this for rust effects)
Yes I use cinnamon too but all my cinnamon is still in date!! 😂
You certainly have a knack. Just absolutely gorgeous every lamp different, lovely, striking. Thank you for the wonderful ideas. 🌹✨🙉

Very inspiring, thank you.

"Don't judge me", looks like some dates I recently threw away. Who knew they were condiments for diy's. They all look fabulous.
