I just started my UA-cam channel 2 weeks ago and I'm so glad I did, I've gotten such an overwhelming positive response! I'm almost wishing I started sooner, but nearing 1000 subs already! Thank you for your videos Sean, they've been a big help. Keep doing the great work 😊
Ok seriously how did you get that many subs so fast? We just started our channel and have eight videos up but only about 16 subs or so. So what’s your secret? Did you market your videos somewhere that gave you a surge of traffic?
After many videos posted, I still get uncomfortable each time I record a video, but do it anyways because in order to achieve the goals you want you have to step outside your comfort zone, it’s the only way.
I can understand that. Most people are often surprised at what their own voice sounds like. Good news for you though, is that it can be fairly easy to overcome, and even work on it to make it more versatile. One of the best way's I've found, if to grab a book, and read out loud for about 5-10 minutes. Make sure to record yourself, and listen back. Pay attention to: -any fluctuations and places you can pause -is there any type of emotion you can try to convey from the characters you're reading? (i.e. anger, frustration, joy, excitement, etc) After doing that, try reading out loud again for 5 minutes and record it and go through the same exercise again. Extra challenge. Do this while looking into the mirror and take note of your facial expressions, eyebrows, mouth movements, head nods, etc. Hope that helps, I know it's helped me on my channel!😄🍹
Partly I guess it's to accept and getting used to hearing your own voice. I am not bothered by my voice anymore, but one thing that helps me speak more clear and with more confidence is to do some simple voice exercises before hitting record.
I'm still camera shy to this day. But you are right, I have gotten better over time & the more videos I do. It has took me over a year but I finally hit 1000 subscribers this week. My videos still stink but with each video I'm working x2 harder than the video before. Turn on your camera and hit the record button! You my just be a natural!
I was paralyzed by my fear before I started my youtube channel, every time I would see the red play button (youtube logo) it would freak me out and give me bucket loads of anxiety. It was very hard. But now that I am almost a year in, I have learnt how to deal with the criticisms and watching the viewers numbers go up and down constantly. It has been one hell of a learning curve but the best decision I have ever made. UA-cam has helped me get many coaching clients and helped my business grow tremendously. Think Media videos have been very helpful when I first started out. Best of luck to all those who are starting out.
Every time I get behind my camera my heart starts beating a little faster😅...but once I start filming, I’m totally fine and calm! Thanks for these tips :)
i started a youtube channel to overcome thinking and depression and to make some cash. i am an orphan and most time i think a lot on how to survive on my own, so i decided that anytime i become moody, ill start to speak to my camera believing that i have people watching me at that moment and after the recording, i may have forgotten what sadness was on my mind and start thinking of how to edit and upload the video online and then what video to do next. i really hope creating a youtube channel can help me with this, though i lack the facilities now but i am hoping for better days. thanks @think media for giving me the opportunity to express myself
Thank you very much for all the tips and advises try grab them as much as possible to improve my youtube channel.its been one month since i started my youtube channel thanks to you 190+ subscribers..Keep making AWESOME videos just like this !
I started my UA-cam channel 2 years ago. I did a google search and found Think Media and you guys really helped me get started. I have learned so much by watching you guys. The fear was crazy but I just did it and I have 3400 subscribers now. Never thought anyone would subscribe. I recommend your channel to everyone who is wanting to start a UA-cam channel and I just received your book in the mail. I can’t wait to read it!! Thank you guys for all you do. It’s a lot of work to maintain a channel.
Fear will always be present, but fear will be the catalyst for the courage to push through! That's what you taught me and I keep learning from you guys! Keep inspiring! There's no wall too high!
It always helps to go back to watch that first video you decide to upload and see how far you have come... I think when you feel like you're making progress and leveling up, it is much harder to stop. But you can't stop if you never start. Good luck to everyone out there who is thinking about getting started!
I'm punching fear in the face and decided to start a UA-cam channel! I'm getting to know the FedEx and UPS drivers on a first name basis! Your videos are awesome and an invaluable resource to a newbie like me just starting out! Keep up the great work!
I started taking my UA-cam channel more seriously about two months ago. A few years ago, I just saw it as a way of recording art software tutorials for my classmates to review while we worked on a project. What I didn't realize was that those tutorials also helped others, not just my classmates. Recently, I revived my channel and started making more videos after my sister encouraged me to try out "vlogging". At that time, my 'real world' contract job ended, and even though I was sending job applications regularly, somehow I couldn't find another one and kept getting rejected. Meanwhile, I just had this small part-time niche business in my living room that I knew I could create content around. I didn't really have a specific plan - I just knew that my tutorials were my most popular content (well, not like 'viral' popular - they just got relatively more views). So, I just kind of started creating content based off of that. I'm actually so glad I started making youtube videos because... one thing I didn't realize was how it can also affect me personally in a good way. I used to be so worried about my appearance before others, and I felt I would be judged if I tried to "seek attention". After making a few videos and getting used to it, I started not to care as much anymore - the actual finishing of the video, editing, and recording it to make content that I could be proud of, was bigger than my insecurities. So, I really agree that just getting started is important. Keeping it up is also very difficult. But I think I've already gained a lot emotionally just from even trying.
I'm new to "vlogging". Got started because my wife and I are now Fulltime RVers. Friends and family wanted to see our journeys. Your channel has really helped me get started. I'm a photographer and being in front of the camera is very strange for me. Thanks for the inspiration and motivation!!!!
I took the Video Ranking Academy 2.0 course and it has helped me get a ton. I'm creating my first video's now and will start uploading within a week using the VRA methods - Thank you for creating this priceless content.
A HUGE reason many ppl will not start a channel is how easy it is to be demonitized, WITHOUT WARNING! This is a huge reason so many who desire to do content, don't. You hear about fear of camera, and not wanting to entertain, but I have heard a lot of people in their mid 40, and up talk about how easy it is for an account to be terminated. This is true.... Something has changed this yr, smaller channels who have been ok for 4 yrs, 6yrs.... all of a sudden. Striked, flagged, and channels down 😢😢😢 It's so sad, bc it would be lovely if we all did content!!! And to see who is coming up to be the next greats!!! 🎉🎉🎉
This is the hardest part for many people, especially those that use the camera. But if you're not seen by people and are talking about products, then it's not so bad as long as you know what you're talking about and your information is useful.
No time like the present! Every time we watch these videos it fires us up to keep on keeping on. We always tell each other...this is a marathon not a sprint...Thanks Sean!!
I just launched my channel yesterday (original music), and I can't believe how much fear I experienced pretty much every step of the way. It can be scary putting yourself out there. Now I have to make sure I keep "punching fear in the face", so that I continue to record and upload, regardless of how scary it is!
Thanks for sharing this video. I started my UA-cam channel 01/2019. I didn't really start posting my videos until about 5 months later. I think it was the fear of what will people think, views, subscribers, etc. I am really glad I started posting. I wish I'd started sooner. Thanks again for sharing this.
I did NOT feel ready to post, but I took your challenge and I posted my first video! I’m glad I did because it taught me all the things I need to learn, that I’d never be able to learn if I wasn’t posting. Thanks again!
I started my new youtube and still learning some things about ThinkMedia I will grow this channel with ideas and tips from Thank Media. This will probably be my path to success and learning and I am really grateful for Sean Cannell's courses and all tips he shares with the community. Thanks!
I put off posting videos and building my channel for years but after watching your videos and Roberto Blake’s channel inspired me to to start mine a few months ago it isn’t growing as fast as I would have liked but it’s steady and the quality of my videos is improving with each one. I’m still using my smart phone but have picked up a mic and some camera lenses for my phone. But you are right if you don’t start one day you will never have a channel so start today there is no time better than now to start!
You just gotta start! We’re on our 8th video in just over a month and are having a ton of fun making content trying to get better. Thanks for helping us newbies out!
My videos are bad and they will be bad for quite sometime but I will keep it moving...perfection(if its even real) will find me on the way. Thanks for this success guide
I've already posted my first video as a trial video and still need to narrow down what I want to do with this channel, so my goal for the next 10 days is to narrow my focus of this channel and post another video!
What I “feared” most wasn’t strangers or acquaintances judging me or my content but my own family who hate risks and change. Last year on my bday I just started uploading and never looked back.
I agree! I have that saying, punch fear in the face and hit record right next to my computer. Do what you can do now, if one video a week then do that one. You will learn more and you will get better. I’ve been up now for almost three months and I have a small but growing following. It’s possible, just don’t give up!
I posted my first video back in July of this year. NorthWest Gun Reviewers , thanks again have been watching your videos for awhile to learn new tips and products
Great video Sean! FEAR = False Evidence Appearing Real. Best way to replace FEAR is with knowledge. With Knowledge comes understanding and confidence. With understanding and confidence comes comfort and peace of mind. Share this fact in many of my vids to help people move forward. Overcoming FEAR in all areas of our lives inspires positivity in ourselves and others resulting in success. Great Job buddy! 😃
First your way of explanation and tips are great. I started my you tube channel on 1 January 2020 and it's already 4 videos in 20 days. Like you said just start ..so i shot the video and edited it a little bit and uploaded it. It feels great to get started because then you start thinking clearly and what you want to do next.
For me as a Family Vlogger, every time we film, I'm just thinking that we are just documenting every happy moments we are doing, it's like just being normal 😁😁 Thanks for this channel, it always gets me boosted 👍
100% Agree with your first videos being about practicing and getting better, video by video. One thing that has always helped me is to record myself and re-watch, or just talk to yourself in the mirror. AND practice your facial expressions in the mirror and pay attention to each muscle and how it responds to the rest of your face :P Great video Sean!
I'll be punching fear in the face soon. Starting a Christian apologetics/motivational channel. Working on a channel trailer right now! Let's go, let's go, let's get it!
Thank you for posting this content. I just posted my first video and I almost took it down because of my self-doubt. I appreciate all your encouraging words.
I just wanted to say thank you! I didn't know where to even begin with my gaming channel and Think Media and Video Influencers have really helped me figure out how to draw new users in. You guys are awesome. Love everything you do!
I started my UA-cam channel a few years ago, I don't post often (which i want to change lol)..but I post when i overcome that anxiety...hopefully I can get in gear this year!
Thanks for all your tips and advice. I'm new to UA-cam and have felt discouraged about the beginning process of UA-cam but will be staying persistent. Thanks to you and others, keep encouragement going.
Love the advice! As a beginning UA-cam Musician, the intimidation of already established artists can cause anxiety and self-doubt. However, I love what I do, and continue to do it for me and for the progression of my craft. My next cover will be out on Saturday! Got that weekly schedule downpacked now too. Would love any support/advice fellow influencers could give!
A great video as always Sean! One of the best motivators out there! I started my UA-cam channel about Life Tips and my daily life here in Sweden, 1 month ago and I am glad I did! Because it will allow me to build confidence in front of the camera! 😄
Like some of you, I just started my channel... I’ve been watching this channel and it’s got great tips. I hope to utilize some of these suggestions. I’m lucky in that I don’t show my face, but still... it’s my craft and open for criticism. Thanks to @thinkmedia for these videos!
Great encouragement Sean! I started my UA-cam channel after I posted a ‘half baked’ video and then forgot about it. Months later I saw my video get served to me as a recommended video... I clicked and was shocked at how many views it had. Since then I have made four more videos. Not doing well at the moment but it’s a waiting game and having the courage to grind on without becoming discouraged.
*Just start* 😄 It always sounds easier said than done, but the beginning is always hard and difficult. To boost the confidence is get a good night sleep, have a great morning routine and your day should be fine. Thank you Sean for sharing this with us! Winny out... _for now_ 😉
Everyone's gotta start somewhere! 😜 A good night sleep, and even having a 'pre-recording' ritual can really help get you in the zone and focused and energized too! 😄🍹
I love everything you're doing. U are helping so many people to reach their goals, face their fears, and follow their dreams. (Including me) you're truly doing something amazing. Thank you for putting this kind of content out there and making people feel like they're ideas are worth it ❤👏
I had such a hard time posting my first video but overcame I was excited! Although I knew it was probably not going to be my best, I knew it was a start!
I'm close, I'm so close, but terrified. I have gone as far as uploading as private, even showed a couple family members. But pressing that button to share with... well probably nobody... maybe tomorrow. What's worse, everyone seeing my video, or nobody seeing it?
Ahhhhhh! 😱😬This is freaky! But I am planning to post my first video on February 7th, 2020 😝. I really want to create a YT channel to build a community of people who are passionate about essential oils and other aromatherapy related topics. ✌🏻🌿💕
Dany #gotaworldtosee how much do you like to post? I’m shooting for one video a week right now, wondering if it’s better to bank then and release more often....
Got to say that even after posting a few hundred videos it's only now that I'm starting to feel more comfortable being in front of the camera. It's something that I have learned and practiced at, however I still struggle filming in public and having complete strangers watch me talk into a camera or over hear what I'm saying. Still much prefer doing it away from people or just from my 'studio' space. Thanks for the video though. Cheers
Thanks for always sharing such helpful topics for new UA-camrs. My niche is personal growth and videos to help you live a healthier happier life and everything I learned about starting, I learned from your channels.🙌😁
Trust me. You think 'I wont take years to build up a following on youtube', or 'my first videos are going to be amazing'... but in the end.. as you learn and grow with each video, you look back at what you thought was a masterpiece... when you get 1000 subs after 2 YEARS...only to realize DAMN... Sean was right. 😂 great vid my man. Gotta love the grind to last on here!
Thanks for all your advice!! I’m new to UA-cam and yes I agree there’s a lot of fear potentially in starting out. I’ve been making videos for about 8 months now and have 16 subscribers. Feel like I’m behind somehow. Learning from super basic level with no video experience. It is so fun though to learn about it. It’s like having your own tv show on a topic that your passionate about!
Recording my first video next Sunday at a car show and hopefully uploading shortly after that. Thanks for this. I'm gonna be doing interviews and the thought of it scare the hell out of me! But as they say the best things happen outside of your comfort zone.. Here's hoping..!
Certainly not scared of fear! I've been through too much to let something so simple & small hold me back! I've gradually growing my channel & thank you for all the huts & tips! I look forward to the future of UA-cam & my channel! New games video being uploaded tonight! Take care everyone!!!
Hey Sean, thanks for the video I have always have a passion for UA-cam since 2010 but I have not made even a single video yet. 4 weeks ago I gathered all the equipment I need to hit start but fear is all over
I posted my first video 3.5 months ago. It's cringy to watch but I keep it there to remind me how far I've come. Starting is definitely the hardest part but once that is done, there are no excuses left 🚀 I still got a long way to go but I'm glad I've come as far as I have in this journey.
thank you Sean. this was great to watch! I can see with each video I've posted an improvement. I still may have a long road ahead but I am really enjoying this journey :D keep up the great work!
I've recently started to use my voice in my videos. A part of me is like "urhhh I hope no one who knows me ever sees this". Talking to technology is so weird.
I am not a techie person at all. I keep hoping someone I know would want to do the editing and analytics side for me. If not, I will have to learn. I know that is how most people start but knowing that doesn't make it any more attractive to me. I also am a 40yr old in braces, so may wait until they are off before I start creating my crafting tutorials. For now, I am studying the platform
I just started my UA-cam channel 2 weeks ago and I'm so glad I did, I've gotten such an overwhelming positive response! I'm almost wishing I started sooner, but nearing 1000 subs already!
Thank you for your videos Sean, they've been a big help. Keep doing the great work 😊
I just sub u
Wow am so happy for you... What were your secrets...omg it's so overwhelming
Amazing Congrats!
Ok seriously how did you get that many subs so fast? We just started our channel and have eight videos up but only about 16 subs or so.
So what’s your secret? Did you market your videos somewhere that gave you a surge of traffic?
Congrats, man!
After many videos posted, I still get uncomfortable each time I record a video, but do it anyways because in order to achieve the goals you want you have to step outside your comfort zone, it’s the only way.
Is there anything in particular you've noticed when watching your own videos, that makes you feel uncomfortable? Practice does make progress 👍🍹
Pay attention to:
-any fluctuations and places you can pause
-is there any type of emotion you can try to convey from the characters you're reading? (i.e. anger, frustration, joy, excitement, etc)
After doing that, try reading out loud again for 5 minutes and record it and go through the same exercise again.
Extra challenge. Do this while looking into the mirror and take note of your facial expressions, eyebrows, mouth movements, head nods, etc.
Hope that helps, I know it's helped me on my channel!😄🍹
My pleasure! Wish you all the best! 😁🍹
So true!! I wish you luck!
Partly I guess it's to accept and getting used to hearing your own voice. I am not bothered by my voice anymore, but one thing that helps me speak more clear and with more confidence is to do some simple voice exercises before hitting record.

Your channel has really helped me get started. I'm a photographer and being in front of the camera is very strange for me.
Thanks for the inspiration and motivation!!!!
Me a year ago = 😨📽
Me now = 😎📽
Best advice, I may only have 3 videos on my belt just starting but it does feel less nerve racking each video I upload.
Truth being spoken!
I took the Video Ranking Academy 2.0 course and it has helped me get a ton. I'm creating my first video's now and will start uploading within a week using the VRA methods - Thank you for creating this priceless content.
It helps looking at your competition's first videos. Their first video is leagues below their current quality. Don't sweat starting

And to see who is coming up to be the next greats!!!
🎉🎉🎉
I have also just started and Think Media has been an inspiration and very helpful to me. Many thanks, just ticked over 50 subscribers 😁
This is the hardest part for many people, especially those that use the camera. But if you're not seen by people and are talking about products, then it's not so bad as long as you know what you're talking about and your information is useful.
It's very emotional. I have gone back and deleted videos. Great video! I feel the same about the haters. I haven't posted to Facebook because of this.
No time like the present! Every time we watch these videos it fires us up to keep on keeping on. We always tell each other...this is a marathon not a sprint...Thanks Sean!!
Cool video Sean just met you at the Hotel, I signed to your Vra, looking forward to the book
Just do it! You guy's got this!
I just launched my channel yesterday (original music), and I can't believe how much fear I experienced pretty much every step of the way. It can be scary putting yourself out there.
I will start posting weekly on January 1 2021!
I started my new youtube and still learning some things about ThinkMedia I will grow this channel with ideas and tips from Thank Media. This will probably be my path to success and learning and I am really grateful for Sean Cannell's courses and all tips he shares with the community. Thanks!
I just bought your book!!!! Thank you so much for the daily inspiration and education 🙌🙌🙌🙌

One of the most "feel good" channel. Thanks a lot for all the valuable information you share with us.
Thanks Sean, your tips have helped me get 15,000 subs.
What I “feared” most wasn’t strangers or acquaintances judging me or my content but my own family who hate risks and change. Last year on my bday I just started uploading and never looked back.
I think I'm mainly at the persistence stage. Not that it's not still scary, but hitting a wall of frustration. Thanks for the encouragement!!!
I agree! I have that saying, punch fear in the face and hit record right next to my computer. Do what you can do now, if one video a week then do that one. Andrew Finney Team i like that explanation of fear. Feeling enlightened
First your way of explanation and tips are great. I started my you tube channel on 1 January 2020 and it's already 4 videos in 20 days. You are the man! Way to uplift everyone. You've helped me greatly, much thanks
True.. I will encourage myself everything takes time
100% Agree with your first videos being about practicing and getting better, video by video. Hey Sean I was scared forever but I watch your content and pulled the trigger now I have 5 videos
I'd like to hear your thoughts on cursing/profanity, 'bleeping', and what type of channel should use/avoid/bleep profanity.
You got this!
Love everything you do!
wish i started years ago but im glad i started my channel. working on gaining more subscribers by posting more videos. thanks sean!!!
I started my UA-cam channel a few years ago, I don't post often (which i want to change lol)..but I post when i overcome that anxiety...hopefully I can get in gear this year!
highly inspiring. thanks for the message.
I have been scared for 10 years. I will post by this Monday. It’s scary, but I got this.
You inspiration. Your aura is sooooo amazing. Keeps one wanting to watch more.
Love this 😍
Thank you for all your videos!! I started my channel a month ago after finally pushing out the negative voices in my head
Needed this video!!! Thanks so much for what you do for the creator community!
You only need to start the grind once, then it quickly becomes a day-to-day thing. Just start, you won't regret it!
*Just start* 😄
It always sounds easier said than done, but the beginning is always hard and difficult. To boost the confidence is get a good night sleep, have a great morning routine and your day should be fine.
Thank you Sean for sharing this with us!
Winny out... _for now_ 😉
I just sub u
Everyone's gotta start somewhere! 😜 A good night sleep, and even having a 'pre-recording' ritual can really help get you in the zone and focused and energized too! 😄🍹
I love everything you're doing. U are helping so many people to reach their goals, face their fears, and follow their dreams. (Including me) you're truly doing something amazing. Thank you for putting this kind of content out there and making people feel like they're ideas are worth it ❤👏
Since I watch every videos in Think media . I become so motivated
You are one of the most honest youtubers.. Thank you,,
I had such a hard time posting my first video but overcame I was excited! Although I knew it was probably not going to be my best, I knew it was a start!
I started reading the book and it is awesome, very helpful. My UA-cam channel is two months old and I’m looking forward to growing the channel.
I'm close, I'm so close, but terrified. I have gone as far as uploading as private, even showed a couple family members. But pressing that button to share with... well probably nobody... maybe tomorrow. What's worse, everyone seeing my video, or nobody seeing it?
I can subscribe (excuse the word =) ) to all of that especially this: Consistency and regular uploads makes a huge difference to your youtube success!
Ahhhhhh! 😱😬This is freaky! But I am planning to post my first video on February 7th, 2020 😝.
I really want to create a YT channel to build a community of people who are passionate about essential oils and other aromatherapy related topics. ✌🏻🌿💕
Thanks so much for your constant encouragements and tips! It has helped me a lot as a new UA-camr
Started last week, and may I say it gets easier and easier! thanks, Sean!!
Posting a lot 👍💯
Who told Sean about my problem? Cause I needed this video so much. Appreciate it all 🙌🏾👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾😌
hello sean, should I start with my Note 9 shooting videos ??? because I gotta wait for (the $$$$ for the M50 and other accessories that you show)
Love this video, man!
I am enjoying this new-found information!! Thank you so much Sean!!
Recording my first video next Sunday at a car show and hopefully uploading shortly after that. Thanks for this. I'm gonna be doing interviews and the thought of it scare the hell out of me! But as they say the best things happen outside of your comfort zone.. Here's hoping..!
Thank you so much, this is incredibly useful for people like me who are just starting out
Certainly not scared of fear! I've been through too much to let something so simple & small hold me back! I've gradually growing my channel & thank you for all the huts & tips! I look forward to the future of UA-cam & my channel! New games video being uploaded tonight! Take care everyone!!!
Hey Sean, thanks for the video
I have always have a passion for UA-cam since 2010 but I have not made even a single video yet. 4 weeks ago I gathered all the equipment I need to hit start but fear is all over
I started 2 months ago I'm so happy with 90 people to now make a video for
I posted my first video 3.5 months ago. It's cringy to watch but I keep it there to remind me how far I've come. Starting is definitely the hardest part but once that is done, there are no excuses left 🚀
I still got a long way to go but I'm glad I've come as far as I have in this journey.
I’m 1 month in and I feel like I’m rocking it
thank you Sean. this was great to watch!
I can see with each video I've posted an improvement. I still may have a long road ahead but I am really enjoying this journey :D
keep up the great work!
I've recently started to use my voice in my videos. A part of me is like "urhhh I hope no one who knows me ever sees this". Talking to technology is so weird.
I know it feels wierd, but keep on.
I started posting 5 days ago it haven't been how i expected, but I'll keep going and you should also.
Thanks for awesome content . I'm gonna upload anything ..just to get comfortable
Thee best content on UA-cam hands down👐
