THE Thing the very few People noticed was during ace and garps conversation all ace had to do was tell garp that he wants to live or be saved thats it and garp would have taken the whole navy head on though he wouldnt have won but still so garp did what little he could during this scene and then ace realising how much people love him and now he wants to live but will he say it no
If Garp had switched sides, they could've actually won potentially. Oda himself stated that during the entire arc, Garp was the strangest at Marineford.
