my gf has watched one piece many times. atm shes at 982 and stopped after she got me into this. We are watching this together and last time she was at my place for few nights we watched from 696 to 772. Its been so good. I love how some things that has been said like 400 episodes ago like heard kaidos name be said and now i saw peek of him for the first time damn. i get chills, just saw luffy beat mingo too. So awesome :D My favourite anime has been fmab since it came 13 years ago and watched it once a year ever since, but this is close 2nd must say :D

Zoro at the start of the series didn’t have a bad sense of direction. It wasn’t until he got the cursed blade from louge town when he started having a bad sense of direction. I believe it is the curse that makes him get lost so easy.
I don't think it's from the curse, I remember when reading the manga in Usopp Island arc East Blue that Luffy and Zoro arrive late to fight against Kuro's Pirate Crew, and Zoro said that he's lost his way

6:15 - Huh, I never noticed that there was a very subtle hint here that Ace and Luffy weren't related. "I eventually entrusted you with my friend and had you train with Ace" implies than they were separated for some time during their childhood, or at the very least they weren't being trained together during that time. And while that obviously doesn't just come out say that they aren't related or weren't raised together, it at least tells you that they were separated in some way during their upbringing, which gives just enough information that you could use that sentence to potentially grasp at that plot point LONG before the reveal. Like, it's not enough to really tell you anything concrete, but it's a crumb of information that could potentially lead someone really attentive to the idea long before it's explicitly stated, and that's really cool. And even better, the line seems to have a dual purpose. Most people would likely see that them being separated for some time was a way to explain Ace's absence during Luffy's meeting with Shanks, and it does do that, but by accepting it as that and only that, you miss the potential explanation for why they were separated.

Yes, he exists since East Blue Saga, but no one knew who he is, just a random vice-admiral. There's a reason why Garp wear that dog head piece. It was because Japanese fans who had followed him since Romance Dawn (the first draft of One Piece) knew Luffy had a grandfather but in Romance Dawn, Garp was a pirate instead of Marine, to prevent the fans from finding out the marine is Garp (Luffy's grandpa), Oda made Garp wear that dog head hat to cover most of his face and hide his identity. The whole point of Garp taking off that cap Is Oda coming clean to the fans that YES the marine is Luffy's grandpa (along with Garp's own verbal introduction) NO. We don't know who Garp is to Luffy up until THIS episode. Your memory fails you. Maybe you already knew before watching this episode because of spoilers but long-time fans certainly remember vividly that Garp's blood relation to Luffy is only revealed in this episode.
