      Are there any plans for a larger version? I was super excited to see this come out but had to go with a different option to get the 4 balanced input channels my synth setup needed. I would absolutely love to see this in something like an 8x8 rack version!

      Hi @LEWITT,
      Doesn't it have an instrument input for guitars? (it says "Instrument" on the smart setup screen, hence I'm surprised it doesn't have at least a single Hi-Z input) Was it a deliberate decision?
      Thanks and take care!

    I thought about this as an on-the-road interface. I've heard - not from your review - that the box holds it's settings even when it is unplugged from the computer. Since it's already doing A->D conversion why not supply a simple transport and an SD slot? Then you could really take IT and just IT on the road. Looking forward to it's slightly bigger brother.

    While the software looks impressive I personally feel its such a missed opportunity to not have a high impedance input on a modern day interface there were some good options too, a toggle switch, the software asking you if you are playing an instrument or a whole seperate input.
    To anyone getting into the game, shelling out money for a DI box is a bit of a waste. You need to get the interface, cables, a DAW, and some other plugins here and there such as amp sims, drum simulation, mic stands possibly a new computer or upgrades.
    This interface may not be the best choice for a bedroom musician with some of the other options out there, but this looks like a good choice for people who only work with some kind of vocal audio.

    I was going to leave a stupid comment, but decided otherwise.
    This seems to be a nice piece of kit and great for streamers, content creators, or single musicians. Also a fair review and I do not doubt that you've would have told us, if it sucked.
    The only thing I'd like to see on these interfaces is a way to extend them. If you're a windows user and need a third low latency input you can basically sell these things and start right over again. Not a complain to Lewitt, more so to the entire market. Daisychaining can't be that hard.

    • @steven_porter
      @steven_porter Рік тому +2

      I know it's not a fair comparison for the price, but RME lets Windows users like me connect multiple interfaces and use the total channel count as if it were one big one. I currently have a UFX II but I could, for example, add a UFX+ and get something crazy like 124 channels in and out (30x30 on my UFX II plus 94x94 on the +) just using the regular RME driver. I believe Motu does this too

      Hey Ant! I actually really like the design, but appreciate it’s probably a bit like Marmite! I think it will appeal to podcasters and live streamers more than it will musicians (and maybe that’s the intention with the lack of a hi-z input?) but I really like the fresh approach.

    I love Lewitt mics and own several, the LCT 140 Air matched pair are unbelievably good and were recommended by Marc and for that he has my enduring gratitude. I like every interview I have seen with the company, they strike me as a great outfit, committed people who have genuinely caused sleepless nights for the dinosaurs. I'm a fan of such troublemakers.
    I was pretty excited about this interface as I want to add a bus powered interface for recording away from the studio. Sadly I have been asking Lewitt the dynamic range ADC and DAC for the unit since last Friday and have received only delaying responses on email and social. Frustrating as I am quite well motivated to get one but not before I know the stats I am waiting for.

      @@Rhythmattica Because when you are designing a product you have to draw a line somewhere, function creep is a thing. Also, whilst Big B might well be able to build and ship a transformer based DI box for 25 quid, Lewitt probably would not be able to due to economies of scale. Big B is probably winding its own transformers for peanuts. Lewitt would have to outsource and that would cost more. It is never as simple as we would like it to be. You can be very sure they left this feature off for a valid reason. Yes, they could also implement something like it with an opamp and some supporting circuitry for not much money, but again we are back to having to draw the line somewhere in order to hit a price point. And it might not perform as well as they would like...... I get your position, I really do. But having been involved in product design and the like, I get why that feature probably did not make the cut.

    • @steven_porter
      @steven_porter Рік тому

      Why would you expect an entry level interface to have Dante? You can always run VSC if you need Dante. I think this is a pretty fantastic product for a beginner to get started easily and then take over with manual controls when they're ready. If it lets a musician with zero pro audio knowledge get recording quickly, that's a pretty great tool.
