Ma'am if compound is formed by the combination of two or more different elements then why is it classified into pure substances which you told is made up of only one kind of particle ?
Pure substances means the substances which are made of same particles. Note that same particles means, either same atoms or molecules (group of atoms). Now for example, water is a compound, which Is made up of only one type of molecules that is h2o.(Hydrogen and oxygen together make the h2o molecules)
