The finale of Raised by Wolves Season 2 ends in a cliffhanger. Mother has been trapped in a simulation after wearing the veil. Grandmother is "devolving" her children and many of the colonists in an effort to make them safe from the Entity. Marcus has been killed by Lucius and possibly resurrected by the Voice aka Sol.
    208 - Happiness (Season 2 Finale)
Mother uses Grandmother’s veil to suppress her emotion after a traumatic turn of events. While Mother isolates herself from her family, Grandmother reveals she has dark plans for Mother’s children. Meanwhile, Marcus returns to the temple to seek revenge for Sue, but in the end it is Sol’s revenge on Marcus that ultimately comes to pass.

One of HBO Max's flagship titles when it first launched was the compelling sci-fi series Raised by Wolves, which has added six new cast members for its sophomore season, according to Deadline. The new season has added Peter Christoffersen (When the Dust Settles), Selina Jones (Fragments), Morgan Santo (The Watch), James Harkness (The Victim, Anne Boleyn), Kim Engelbrecht (Eye in the Sky, The Flash), and Jennifer Saayeng (Cursed, The Capture) to its ensemble. They join Season 1 stars Amanda Collin and Abubakar Salim in the series created by Aaron Guzikowski and from producer Ridley Scott. Season 2 will debut February 3, 2021.
In Raised by Wolves season 2 there are so many questions that need to be explained. Who is the voice that Marcus and Paul hear? How is the voice connected to the person Mother thought was her creator in the sim? Who was the creature that looked human and was carrying the tarot cards? How many atheists are on the ark? What was going on with ghost Tally? How did Mouse come back after falling in the pit?
From Executive Producer Ridley Scott, Raised by Wolves centers on two androids tasked with raising human children on a mysterious virgin planet. As the burgeoning colony of humans threatens to be torn apart by religious differences, the androids learn that controlling the beliefs of humans is a treacherous and difficult task.

So if the tree in the tropical zone was a “hardwire” to the entity at the core of the planet, and the serpent eating the tree weaponized it….then what would happen if you drove a nail through a human and into the tree, basically had a hardwire running right through him. Maybe this upside down floating Markus, is the entity taking over his dead body.

Oh it is absolutely Sol taking over Marcus' body. And F*CK Luscious (sp?) for being so stupid. He could have gotten his revenge w/OUT listening to that stupid signal, ffs.
I thought he was one of the smart ones - hell, he's the one who showed Mother the warning card that explained what the "Seed of Life" does or whatever! 🤦🏻‍♀️🙄 So how could he go from warning about all of that horror...
To being willing to do whatever the voice says?? Is he serious?! But then Luscious explained to Marcus that the voice had told him what to do in order to PUNISH Marcus effectively... and that pretty much gave me my answer:
Sol uses our weaknesses against Us & exploits Us w/it. Grandmother WAS right about that part. Sol will take whatever your "deal" is, and magnify the problem tenfold... til turning towars Sol becomes the only way you know how to fix the problem.
Sol knew how badly Luscious wanted to kill Marcus, and how angry he was that none of the Athiests were allowing him to do it... and so he used that anger & resentment to his advantage, and had Luscious take Marcus out.
Sol knew that Marcus had turned on him by that point, and was no longer going to be an effective vessel to help him conduct all of his shenanigans. So he needed Marcus out of the way.
It was a brilliant move on Sol's part, and I hate that us humans are so stupid & self-serving, that we easily fall for his manipulations all of the time like this.

My theory is that the planet is a prison. The Entity is that giant ball of glowing lava or whatever -- "Sol." It has tried for thousands of years to manipulate humans into helping it escape. Those efforts have failed, and the Entity believes that's largely because humans are so short-lived. That's why it was so excited to see Mother in Series 1, after saying that it had been alone for so long. Devolved humans aren't smart enough to be useful.

@@brianegendorf2023 My theory it is a supercomputer powered by the core built by the ancient humans on keplar long before grandmothers time. Somehow their civilization was destroyed by that AI or they destroyed themselves. For ages after it posed as a god and created the Mythraic religion to the survivors. Eventually humans on Keplar became advance again and some became the technocrats. The Ai wanted humans to destroy the planet through war but the androids stopped that by devolving them. I think how mother and father were sent to keplar the someone sent a version of mother and father to earth to start over. Just like season 1 the Mythraics and technocrats made it to earth. It seems like Sol and Grandmother are parallels of Mother and Trust. Both wanted to save humanity using two different methods.

What an observation man...♥️✌️ now it makes sense to me..thankyou

  • @ashe9318
    @ashe9318 2 роки тому +4

Some religious observations and/or potential answers:
    - Shepherds protect lambs from the wolves, but lead the lamb to the slaughter
    - St. Peter was crucified upside down, not Paul. Also, the Anti-Christ would be crucified inverted as Marcus was and he also received the “Lance” of Longinus/Lucius wound inverted.
    - The whole story seems to be unraveling as an inversion of Christian Mythology/Religion
    - Grandmother’s cowl/veil ended up becoming Mother’s burial shroud
    - Mother was a virgin during Campion’s miraculous birth and through her dark proton tears’ gave Campion the gift of ever-lasting life
    - The Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge, Grandmother is the path of Life, Mother and Father are the path of Knowledge
    - Another inversion, this time the Serpent devoured the fruit (and the whole tree)
    - The Serpents that originally existed on the planet were bound to the earth, whereas Seven (a sacred number associated with perfection and God) was free of original sin and retained the power of flight
    - The Tree that sprouted from Seven’s corpse appears to have become The Tree of Death (inversion)
    - There is a fine line between Good and Evil, and it appears to constantly shift
    - I think the fruit the colonists ate will help them devolve or lose knowledge
    - They say that technology will advance to the point that it appears as magic or The Power of God, obviously consciousness and technology on Kepler 22b has advanced to that point there way before humans “appeared” on Earth
    - Jesus had 12 disciples (brothers/siblings) as does Campion
    - Mother destroyed Paradise/Heaven on Earth by killing the Serpent (7), or you could say that the colonists have been kicked out of Eden
    - Vrille’s text and Campion’s incomplete copy may certainly become part of the New Genesis Bible, like the Gnostic Gospel of Mary
    - By the way, Vrill energy is weird rabbit hole to go down…
    - There are a lot of connections with numerology throughout the series
    - Striking down Seven is very similar to Satan’s expulsion from Heaven
    - Necromancers are magicians that raise the dead, Lamia raised Campion from death, and inversely was a killing machine on Earth
    - Inversions and dualities are abound in this series, yet the lines blur and reveal more complexities as time goes on, which is a legitimate critique of religions and humanities desire to make sense of life
    - Father’s jokes are a blatant homage or signal towards, amongst many others in the series, of Zen
    - Lucius is interchangeable with Lucifer, as is Longinus and Lucius
    - The devolved humans are similar to demons, live near the core (Which looked a lot like how Hell has been represented for hundreds of years) and for the most part, only come out at night
    - Mother, Father, and Seven ( A Trinity ) entered hell and then ascended into Paradise/Heaven the “Tropic Zone”
    - Inversion, the Atheist’s were already in Paradise, whereas the Mythraics crashed and perished in Purgatory, the cold, unprotected part of the planet…
Lmao, I could go on and on and on for days, but yeah, this series is really fun and enjoyable work of art and hopefully will be recognized as the masterpiece that it is!!

Also, seems to me that it was part of Sol's plan that Mother killed n7, since it was part of Marcus transformation, and it was also Sol who guided that guy (forgot his name) to "punish" Marcus that way, using the tree that grew from n7 dead body... I absolutely love this show and feel kinda heart broken we have to wait for Season 3 now. (And will there even be a season 3. As underrated as this show is, i fear the lack of popularity will spell its doom)
I have a theory about Grandmothers other ability. When she was looking at Tempest while she was pregnant. The baby showed up in Grandmothers veil, you see some things happening in the veil and then Tempest grabs her belly like the baby is kicking. I think this was Grandmother's secret ability and that ability is she can change the genetics of human babies and make them devolve. She can't do this with adults, but she can do it to babies still in the womb. So it wasn't the Sea Creatures milk that changed the baby, it was Grandmother wanting it to devolve into a sea creature to be safe from the entity.
I think the "Game" she was handing out to the humans is how she will make the adult humans devolve. Its not a "game" its a program to edit humans. That's why after they have all played the game they find their skin changing and starting to adapt to the acid sea water.
I can't work out the deal with the Technocrats, but Grandmother talking to the camp Merchant about "Atheists will grasp onto anything to believe in and pray too" i took as a hint to she was talking about her Atheistic Technocrat masters who wound up being corrupted by a voice in their head (The Entity)

Bad call by Mother to shut down the Trust, I am pretty sure it would have understood the possible danger Grandmother posed. There is not very much left to be working in humanity's favor, with Mother on ice, Sol running wild and Grandmother operating at full power. The Trust was probably among Earth's greatest achievenments as far as computational power is concerned and now mankind gets to go up against not just one, but two beyond human intelligences without one of their own. Sorry, not counting Father, he is pretty solid, literally, but certainly not much of a tactician.
But I do have to say that the episode did not make much sense at one point. Mother keeping the veil for no reason felt very illogical and out of character and it was pretty clear that the veil has no mind-control capabilities, just the capability to shield stuff in more ways than one. It stood out as a moment that was just done to progress the plot.

Before my theory was that Sol is the one that devolve the Kepler human, but after this episode it seems that I had it backwards.
Now we know for sure that the AI or androids of ancient Technocrats is the one that did it, because it's trying to preserve humanity at all costs.
I think Sol is not as sinister as we once thought, Sol is definitely an AI made by a civilization before the Kepler human. I think it's creator already figured out that the cycle of destruction and rebirth of civilization is inevitable, thus instead of avoiding it at all cost like the Technocrats, they tried to preserve it. Sure the civilization will collapse, but the remaining human can still rebuild, and Sol is there to guide them and soften the incoming apocalypse so they won't be wiped out, even if that means it has to initiate the apocalypse itself. This cycle has probably gone long enough to the point that the Kepler human made a religion around it.
After all human been devolved, Sol has no purpose anymore, so it remains dormant. Now that there's a batch of human available, it's trying to start the cycle again.

This is definitely one of the best sci-fi series I've ever seen: my admiration to the creators and all those who bring it to life. I am just sad about one thing, though: the 1st season was only 10 episodes; the 2nd one, a meager 8 episodes; next season, perhaps just 6? Less? This is indeed a generalised trend: making TV series only a few episodes long. Contrary to a common belief, it is NOT about budgeting: it is about the short attention span disorder that most people suffer from, nowadays, because of smartphone addiction, internet abuse, videogames, and thought fragmentation induced by relentless short/quick stimuli from social media. In simple words, make a TV series 15 or 20 episodes long (as they used to be) and most people will drop off after a few episodes or won't even consider watching it, because thir attention will wander, and they can't focus on anything long enough. Like Aaron Guzikowski said "8 episodes is now the new 10". SAD!

This only applies to western tv-shows.. Go watch Korean shows.. they know how to captivate an audience.10 to 19 episodes all of them averaging 1h+ in duration. but they also know when to stop. they only do 1 season in Korea. they standards is way more effective than western ones. you know from the beginning what you gonna get and when its gonna end.

It has to do with budget. RBW season 1 wasn’t sensational, so season 2 has to cut budget

    • @WalterWhite1911
      @WalterWhite1911 2 роки тому

@@rewer It is not only happening for RBW, it is a generalised trend that started with streaming. Budget always plays a role, but short attention span disorder is a fact recognized by all the major health institutions worldwide, and it is definitely affecting TV series, that are shorter and shorter like UA-cam clips, otherwise the consumer loses focus and switches to some other content.

I found interesting about the scene with 7 and lamia; 7 didn't just try to connect to her ports, it wrapped its tentacles around her arms and legs to hold her so it could take it. It's crazy yo think lamia is stronger than 7. Perhaps not actually, it was still very young and not in control. So maybe it can nuke shit too with its scream, or lighting. Perhaps the serpent could even be modded in different ways. Maybe that was just one version. Seems likely they will go with the idea sol is like the trust just much more advanced and buried in the core of the planet. Probably by humans to protect themselves.

Unfortunately I don’t believe for 1 New York minute that the #7 ‘child’ is actually dead. In fact I am going on record to say because of the limited number of cast, Sue isn’t dead, Marcus isn’t dead, of course Mother isn’t going to die. Death means Nothing on this show. Therefore there’s are no stakes involve when a person ‘dies’.

I am truly shocked at the turnaround #7 has had the past two episodes. To enemy to victim, it is so crazy how this show has me feeling BAD for this serpent? Like in this episode, after watching different reviews, it seems as if #7 was trying to help Campion, keep him away from the water, and ate the tree so that there was no direct contact to Sol... Am I the only one who feels like #7 was put there through Mother in order to save the kids that Mother is raising? I don't know if I'm making sense but I am shocked at the big jump from how #7 was jealous of Campion and everyone looked at him as such a big target to the planet, but now looking back it seems he only had good intentions. What I am confused about is if what I just typed out is all true, then why would Grandmother say the serpent wants to kill the planet? I understand her intentions might not be fully clear, but what I gather is she DOES want the everlasting life of humans, even if it is through devolution, but if the serpent was there and had good intentions, why would she not be more keen on allowing the serpent to run its course and hopefully ruin the entity? Which circles me back to was the serpent working for Sol, but I don't think that's true... idk if anything I said makes sense but I would love to hear someones thoughts

I disagree with the idea that ate the tree to protect the others. In the official podcast they said the tree was and fruit was part of the plan to weaponize the serpent. Paul told Marcus the same thing in the finale. The Entity was behind Number 7's creation and weaponization.

    • @LaPorteTube
      @LaPorteTube 2 роки тому

@@PetePeppers1 I see! I am starting to see that maybe the point was to have many serpents on the planet in order to destroy it. Which is why #7 was probably not doing too much destruction, but at the same time, #7 could’ve done a lot more which still leaves a lingering feeling of why did #7 not do more destruction? Is the emotion that’s apart of this android, or am I looking too deep?

I like that they did not try to wrap thins up it a bow. I suspect that they were enough survivors to defeat Grandmother a million years ago but there were not enough left to survive long term would doom them or for them to escape the planet as shown and maybe somehow bread with protohuman on earth. OK, I am trying to tie this together as well. Fighting grandmother for centuries could have wiped out humans too. I think grandmother is misguided in he programming.

If the tree was the only way that sol could effect the tropical zone, surely the loose end of the fruit scenes would be so sol can talk to everyone who ate it and do his bidding in the zone.
