Guys you are doing exactly what I wanted to do, even down to the exact countries and cities for slow travel. My problem was the typical 'one more year' mentality. I don't hate my job but it takes up too much of my time. It would be an interesting topic to talk about.
Great to hear that you're also keen on slow travel...it's a great way to enjoy early retirement. I also struggled with the "one more year" mentality. What got me through it was figuring out how much I really needed for a comfortable retirement and committing to that amount. Good luck with your planning!
Your videos are always an inspiration and a motivator for me to do more to prepare. You keep it lighthearted, yet to the point. Thank you for taking so much time out of your lives to film, edit and produce all your videos. I have learned more about international slow travel and budgeting in the past two months by watching your videos than anywhere else. Again, thank you. This is a goal of mine, and at 57yrs old, it's coming fast.
Hi Greg - It was so motivating to receive your message! It means so much to us that our content is helpful to other people on a similar path. Sounds like you'll soon be on an exciting adventure of your own. Keep us posted on how your plans come together! 😊
Tracking our spending is so important. Looking at what we spent last year, I realized I can cut back on many small things in our budget. Looking forward to saving and investing more in 2021.
We started our journey in June 2020. We are just at the beginning but tracking and sharing every step to stay motivated. Thank you for sharing this is awesome! We are tracking our spending, paying off debt and investing in low cost index funds while we figure out our goal retirement.
You are destined to grow your channel. Great advice. I just left Istanbul (Fethiye as well) in early December- the lock downs certainly impacted me, as I rarely cooked. Back in Orlando, where everything is wide open, and the economy is doing well- not at pre pandemic level, but certainly ok.
You must have just left as we arrived! It's a bit sad here with the lockdown but still lots fo enjoy. We're not having all the great restaurant meals that we originally looked forward to but still enjoying all the amazing food using takeaway. Enjoy your stay in Orlando!
Another great video! Weekly you knock it out of the park. I salute you for following your dreams during Covid Constraints and working around the Schengen area. Each week I look forward to your content. Thank you and Happy New Year! How will it work for you both to get the vaccine? Will it be more difficult out of Canada?
Thanks Kimberly! Hope your journey is going well. We're not sure how we'll get the vaccine at this point, although it's definitely on our wish list! Once the higher-risk people have been served first, we will look to get it in whichever country where its available to us. 😊
Another brilliant content...we have done steps 1,2,3,4,5,6 and 7...were ready but were waiting for our vaccination and for everything to calm down a bit...we’re hoping to start our slow travel around September or October and leave the cold weather in the UK... keep enjoying your journey and thanks for your tips x
Congrats on getting all the way to step 7! Your timing for travel sounds very reasonable. International travel is quite challenging right...not ideal conditions for enjoying your first year of slow travel. Hopefully it calms down soon enough.😊
@@reawakenedcuriosities4386 All great choices! We've spent time in two of three on your list. Philippines is still on our bucket list for the next time we're back in Southeast Asia.
Now that we've retired, all our income comes our investments. Of course, we had to work 15 to 20 years and save our money carefully in order to build up enough investments.
Okay, I love you guys and I’m going to keep watching, but I’d like to get a little more personality from you (a sense of who you are) and a little less of the feeling that you’re reading me a well crafted PowerPoint presentation. I say this with hugs.
My mental block is that I got Soo much education to get my career going that I will feel guilty for not ... using it to the fullest. I guess it's a "sunken cost falacy" thinking - I still have only one life to live!
I hear you on that! We also invested a lot in our education and it felt a little odd to be walking away from work just when we were getting to the peak of our careers. But I still feel enriched by my education so I feel that I'm making good use of it, even in retirement.
Whew...seven steps in seven minutes! Which one are you planning on starting today?

You two = the coolest! :) Great content, so well presented. Thank you ladies!
Thanks so much! Really glad to hear you enjoyed the video. We wanted the first one of the year to be fun.
Best 7 minutes spent on UA-cam today! 😊
Wow, thanks! That's so great to hear. 😊

We are so blessed to be retired as of April 2020 👍
Well done. It's such a great feeling! 😊
Nice colour top Stephanie.
Thank you! It was a present to myself in Zagreb...something to brighten up the cooler months.
Hey what video editor do you guys use?
We keep it pretty simple...just use the free iMovie that came preloaded on our Mac
How do you make income?
Now that we've retired, all our income comes our investments. Of course, we had to work 15 to 20 years and save our money carefully in order to build up enough investments.

Received with hugs! 😊 That's great feedback and definitely something we're working on. We're planning more informal videos in 2021.

Terrific tips here. Very informative, thx.
Glad it was helpful! 😊
Prelep video.
Thanks!!
The seven minutes begin @2:04
Thanks! That's correct. 😊
You’re living the dream! Congrats! We’re almost there. Having the kids slowed us down a little.
But I'm sure your kids added so much to the journey! They look adorable in your latest video. 😊
I make a lot, I save, but i haven’t invested smart.
You can start now and enjoy the benefits later. 😊
I just want to travel with dog throughout the world
It's a wonderful thing to do! We've got a few videos about how to travel with your dog bit.ly/3qdX6ta
You are so cute and brilliant
Thanks so much 😊
