  • Delta depositional environments: types, geometry, facies distribution, morphology, and stratigraphy of deltaic systems. Specifically, the importance of regression (progradation) for river deltas, the influence of waves and tides, hypopycnal, homopycnal, hyperpycnal, and turbidity flows and which flow type is most common in deltas, position relative to shelf edge, grain size and composition of sediment fed to the basin from the fluvial system, slope steepness and elongation, wave reworking, lobe abandonment and erosion during transgression (retrogradation) causing lobe migration (bird foot of Mississippi river delta example), upper delta plain, bayline (or tidal limit), lower delta plain, delta front, prodelta, and storm-wave overwriting of delta deposits.

I was searching for some nice videos on depositional environments and your channel came in. Your slide packs are extremely good and contains lot of basic information. Equally good for students as well as for anyone in the industry wanting to refresh sedimentology. Your narration is also very good. Many thanks for putting efforts to make these. I already finished watching 3 of the depositional environments form your collection. Great work :-) .

Oh my gosh, you seriously just made my day! I made these depo env. videos very early on and I know the video/audio/editing quality is not that great, so I am so glad to hear the content is still worth while for you students and/or professionals out there! :D

Working on my GIS final and noticed a new video. Yes, of course I'm going to pause the final just so I can watch the video lol. Guess I can go back to my final now. Thanks for another great video!

I wish I could find more information on western Pennsylvania since 75% of the sedimentary rock from the Carboniferous and the beginning of the Permian period. I do a lot of fossil mapping around western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio
