When I visited Vienna a couple of years ago I saw Gustav Klimt's work for the first time in real life. It was absolutely beautiful and the "Kiss" was mesmerizing! Now I finally decided to dedicate a video to this artist and I was lucky to get the perfect model for my painting! The Vintage Egyptologist recreated the pose and took photos for me so that I was able to make a reproduction of the original Klimt Painting! I hope you enjoy this video, the painting, and the whole project as much as I did! 😍

I feel like I just watched several different masterpieces transform into a final piece of art. How you manage to paint with almost zero "ugly" phase is a form of art in itself.

“secession” ≠ ”succession” - though with graphics skills like these, pronunciation hardly matters!
At the end, you ask our opinion of your Judith vs. GK’s. I always thought he built up his Judith’s skin tones using pastels, but your control over (far less forgiving) watercolor IS TO DIE FOR.

Very beautiful, and I love your use of mixed media, its very liberating. When I was in art school mixed media wasn't encouraged enough in the fine art major. I don't like much of the modern art movement either, but I'm glad you brought this up because I didn't really notice the transition from Klimt either. I love his figures, and his art is popular as a poster print but unfortunately very few are used, and they're not my favorites.

i highly reccommend the film 'woman in gold' starring helen mirren and ryan reynolds. its about the portrait of adele that klimt painted, and about her family and how adele's niece won back the portrait by suing austria.

What a stunning video! Your work is beautiful and your ability to tell Klimt's story in a way that neither villainizes him or romanticizes him is refreshing and educational!
My favorite things you shared were his love of cats and how he would paint in the woods in his painters gown and the locals would call him a woodland monster!

This isn’t “Judith”. It’s a portrait of Colleen “The Vintage Egyptologist” from YT “as” or in the style of “Judith” by Gustav Klimt. Yes it’s a beautiful rendition, and a great choice of subject for a Klimt piece, but it’s important to be clear about what you are looking at.
