- Memos to myself is a history of techniques for crafting specific pieces. In this video I show the steps I've recorded for enhanced kayak designs. Also included are several ways I am using MagSquares (magnets). For some earlier techniques on kayaks, check out this video: " A Kayak. Simple wire Work • A Kayak: Simple Wire ...
Here is a link to an article I saw in Smithsonian: "Copper’s Virus-Killing Powers Were Known Even to the Ancients".

Appreciating you're commenting. Have fun with copper.
You should do voiceover work, I could listen to you talk all day!
Wow, thank you!
" I was thinking of things that might be of interest " good job on that front George. Your keeping my interest thank you.
For all its problems, it's a great world with lots of things to do.
the other way to do those in mass would be to make a simple pin jig
That's interesting. Do you have any examples?
@@897473 not physically here.
you could use soft dowells on a board standing up right the cut a small groove / slot into them so when you ready to lay out a new kayak you place the rods into the slots so the conform to the right shape.
same way a full size 'welding table' would work.
i've often made simple jigs for stuff i know i will be doing alot.
for example my heel tips on my high heel shoes, i replace those myself using steel rather than plastic
George, can your projects also be accomplished with a Map Pro torch?
Many thanks!
I really don't know. I've never used Map Gas. Looked up "Map Pro Torch", and it appears that it is hot enough. For brazing I would use the thinness brazing rod which is usually 1/16" . Let me know what you discover.
@@897473 Thanks, George.
Thanks George! I had forgotten that you are a kayaker. Or is it kayakist?
Thanks Charles. I'm not sure the "politically correct people" have got around to that quite yet.
I always thought it was "yakker"...😁
I'm just starting out, really appreciate your skill, creative, and excellent vids! Inspiring. Cheers
Love it! Need to make this now. My grandson is in Crew & his Birthday is next month; do you have a video on this project?
Joyce, this video will show you how to make the curved rods. ua-cam.com/video/m3Zvee3YO0U/v-deo.html
After that it is just a matter of lengthening the kayak. And follow what I have done in the current video.
Hi. George . Hope you are doing good. Stay safe.. stay home..
Thanks, you too! Good days for working in the shop.
@@897473 that's fantastic. :)
Thanks George, Your videos are always filled with great information and techniques. I always use my phone to document my processes, but usually, it when disassemblying a.project. Stay well!
Good to hear from you. Using your phone to document - you are way ahead of me.
👍 kayaks ( I paddle also) have been a nice addition for me. I also use. It nail several different way. But. I’m so dense. I may never thought of using one for the base.
Thanks. I like the nail because it lifts the kayak a bit more and give a different view. Separates it from the base.
