  • The single copper maple leaf is a best seller in the galleries where I exhibit my work. The focus of this video is that small pieces sell, and this maple leaf is one example. Two points of creativity; the design and then the "engineering" to produce the piece so it can be sold at an affordable price.

    Just found these videos as I incorporate copper into my artwork, and found George passed away on July 1, 2021. Thanks for the videos, they'll continue to help people do what they love for years!

    I'm always curious as to who would down vote a good video like this! Thanks for the suggestions!

      Yes, that's a good question. It would be helpful if they said why they didn't like it. But that's life on the internet.

      Thanks for commenting. I have some experience, but some days I'm not so sure about the wisdom.

    Appreciate your advice! I did a farmers market a while ago and realized everyone has $5-10 dollars to burn yet all my items were high dollar (and lots of work). I realized for me keychains and belt buckles are the way to go. I also found when I accept a job with the word "custom" it can essentially lower the value of my time and worse I enjoy it less. Thanks again for this

      People go to well established art festivals, ready to spend several hundred dollars if they find just the right piece. People go to the farmer's market to get home grown products. I have friends that show their craft at the one weekend each month and do very well. Over several seasons, they've developed a following ant it has become a significant part of their income. It takes persistence to find out just what will sell. I did the Farmer's Market for a few weekends and decided it just wasn't for me.

    Good video George, good to hear from you again. i know you use brazing for both the physical connecting of pieces and the cosmetic appearance, question, do you ever use an electric spot weld to join pieces in places where there are alot of joins in a small area?

      I occasionally use my spot welder. It is a perfect match for specific applications.

    I think copper went up 4x this year so far. More like $20 per sq foot.

      Thanks for viewing. I bought 32 sq. feet of 16 oz. copper about a year ago for $6.25 per sq. ft. including shipping. Bought another 32 sq ft. this spring (2020) including shipping for $6.75. Bought another 32 sq. ft. in September (2020) for $7.25 per sq. ft. From www.gttersupply.com

    im curious to know if its possible to mig weld together 2 pieces of copper together?

    • @897473
      @897473  4 роки тому

      I've seen mig bronze welding with bronze wire as opposed to steel wire. I have never done this. Probably find some videos on UA-cam.
