He made that look soooo much easier than real life. It took me 20 minutes, a lot of swearing, and a unique technique involving my left foot to hold the bottom left in place, my left hand working clockwise to keep the ring in the groove, and my right hand to get progress. My wife walked in right at the end to see my compromised position.
The foot technique worked for me. Thank you so much!!! Also, my wife had a good laugh at me reading this comment and then, in desperation, trying it.
Seriously better advise than the video. Just propped myself up between wall and washer with foot on it and worked. But now I’m patching drywall.
Thank you! When your spring is tight, the left foot technique is the way to go!
yeah.. that was fishy. Hadto use both my feet and pull like crazy...
Even tried the tool for trampoline springs... 2 screw drivers.. my head.. elbows.. knees ... feet .... hands....
Help 😫😭
No way! I’m CANNOT get mine back on no matter what!
Heck no! He made it look extremely easy to pop that right into place. Mine is pissing me off. It was my pump I just replaced. It’s the stupid ring that’s giving me a run for my money😤.
Same here. I got my pump replaced. Now I may have to pay someone to put the ring back on!
@@medicbrndn Me and my wife had to both do it together.
Thank you! After about 10 tries with out the pliers I gave up. Got it the 2nd time once I used your method.
Thanks mate. Your trick worked after numerous failed attempts of my own.
Much appreciated
You're welcome!
The dad we all needed
Thank you, you're video saved me time and money. You are much appreciated.
Thank you for your video it helped me fixed my machine people like you making a video like this help so many people 😊 you should feel good and proud about yourself for this 😊 thanks 😎
Nice simple description. Thank you. I also used a screwdriver along with the locking pliers to help ease the gasket clamp back on. Thx!
Yes true

That worked thanks lol
Very helpful no doubt. Saved my day.
Cheers mate just did mines you are a live save .washing all the way
Thanks a bunch. Great video
Than you the locking pliers saved my fingers
You're welcome!
So glad I looked this up and found you! I was about to give myself a stroke getting pissed off and cursing every time the ring and gasket fell off! Your method worked in 5 tries vs 1.5 hours doing it various wrong ways! Thank you
Helped thanks!!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I'm completely inept but I got it right on- my son did help by holding it in place at one stage. Thank you!!
You are welcome. If we can help you with anything in the future please let us know!
Very helpful! Thanks
Thank youvfor your help i just fixed my defy
Took a flat head and basically did the reverse of removing the clamp. It finally did the trick after trying for over an hour
Glad you were able to get it removed. If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.
I cannot get my gasket to sit in the metal lip and stay while I do the ring. How does the gasket stay? And what does the ring hold?
I seriously was about to rage quit. Took me two tries and now I can rest easy.
Really struggled with this. 4 hands, flat-head screwdriver and locking needlenose pliers finally got it on it took two of us like 2 minutes and I spent an hour on it by myself.
I managed to replace the door switch I needed to do. Got that all screwed in. Go to put the spring ring back in and it seems like it's stretched out. I'm lost. I do not want to buy another part.
@@Planet_Shel get an extra person seriously that thing is impossible to put back in without 4 hands unless you really skilled.
Trust me it ain't that easy! I did have a repair guy recommend lubing the spring with detergent. I usually helps but today I'm on the struggle bus thus why I am here. About to give it another go with the locking pliers though.
so there is a tool to extend the spring that makes this much easier...he makes it look easy, but its difficult if you are changing the door boot and re-using your spring as it is not a nice new part with a moderate amount of tension
thank you xxxx
God bless you.
Thank you
I used your method and it worked but why does the spring need to be 6 o'clock why can't it be another position
thanks your players trike works !
thanks after 1h fighting whit this crap decide to watch ur video
Thank You, can't even go into explanation how I did this 👀
Can any body tell me the circle should go on the plastic canal inside or outside
Outside but inside the groove
My husband has been dealing with this since last night. This morning I used a flat wooden spatula and pushed the wire in with it while he held down the sides and I oops I mean we fixed it in two minutes.
We did it in approx. 2 minutes with two blunt knives by sliding the bottom of the ring over the knives into the groove.
Of course it's easy when you do it every day. I gave up after an hour. I will just wait for the spring expansion tool I ordered off of Amazon.
If there is anything we can help you please let us know.
I used this method, but it took GREAT force pulling it into place. Not casual like the video.
I used a vise grip, pulled with both hands, my wife guided the ring in the groove and then I took her to dinner for the help. It's not as easy as it looks like in the video.
Sir you don't show where it goes on the plastic or on the metal
I was about to go insane. I had to use a butter knife also
But I can’t
Have been working for an hour on this. Still don't know how he F------ just through that ring on.
What is the model number of your washer? Did you get to complete your repair?
Yes thanks. After I had worked on that locking ring for over an hour my son came home, sat down with his bare hands, and put it on in about 20 seconds.@@appliancepartspros

Bs ive been struggling for hours! Its not easy! I don’t know what to do!
There’s no effing way that clip goes on that easy
I gave up on your method and reversed engineered with a screw driver
I'd like to know why couldn't have made this clamp similar to the inner one with the screw attachment; would be way simpler I think! Everytime I think I'm close to getting it stretched over..pop goes the seal off the mf'n lip, more swear words, and off we go again...
Have you been able to get your clamp back on? What is the model number of your washer?
@@appliancepartspros I did thanks, after much swearing. It was on a Whirlpool Duet wfw8300sw04
Glad you were able to get your clamp back on. If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.
Bull crap that does not pop open so easy
They skipped some steps because it's not this easy. Only video of theirs that I disliked because im struggling still
Freaking impossible
Crying pls help
I highly recommend anyone not to buy LG. Worst engineering ever.
Samsung the same believe me
