Great to see two lovely New England girls (Connecticut and Vermont) in the semifinals, they both had such a natural prettiness. Hawaii was gorgeous too and had the best evening gown. Virginia, however, had the aura of a winner here. Colorado and Washington could've gotten "Barker's Beauties" jobs when The Price is Right debuted.
I just watched it, and I’m blown away. She was totally speaking from the heart. It was effective. And, you are correct. Her speech is unfortunately more relevant today than ever.

Wendy was called first for every part! Wendy did give a very good final answer. It seemed very sincere. California and Arizona did not do well with their answer. But I liked South Carolina the best because it was so cute and comical! Also, I loved your hair Miss Hawaii. It looked so natural unlike the helmets most of the other girls had.
yes, many people were surprised by Gloria Diaz's win because she was not considered beautiful by the conventional Western beauty standards - she was short, Oriental features, brown skinned. But she made up for it being very enthusiastic during the interview round.
Found the pageant interesting enough although somewhat bland in presentation. Passing these girls off like a debutante ball. Colors are horrendous!! But for me this is new I didn’t start watching pageants til the late 70’s I remember them as beautiful, entertaining and much more glamorous. This was dull by comparison.
