I built a minibike from scratch including the frame many years ago. My dad helped with a few key parts. I made it street legal too. This is quite an improvement mechanically.

The only motorcycles we had back in the 60s were the ones that my dad built from scratch he was a welder by trade we use Briggs & Stratton motors and we called them tote goats and we rode the hell out of them I even wrote it at Indian dunes in Southern California at 8 mini bike race and one
I think electric would be a great option for some people. Personally I would go with gas but there are a lot of people who live in urban areas that couldn't use gas power because of local restrictions.
That’s exactly what we were thinking. Also, if someone doesn’t know how to work on and engine, an electric option might be easier for them to use and enjoy.
I like the Honda Big Single idea 💡... I am planning a wildcat 460 stage 3-4, in that area. Hopefully 30hp range, have to see... what redline is eventually 😂

@@mantinimotors my last ride was astainless steel chopper i built in 2006, it had the engine from a2002 rebel 250. i sold it last year after back and knee surgery.
@@graemehill9260 it really doesn’t take that long especially when you have been driving for 3 hours straight, it’s nice to take a break, walk around and even eat. I get around 465km per charge and the average stop time was around 15-20 minutes. Keep in mind we did charge at a few hotels while we were sleeping which was nice.
@@timskylark it added about 5 hours to our trip. Some hotels had chargers which was great but to be honest, I needed to stretch every 3 hours or my legs would cramp up anyways. So I enjoy stopping as that’s what makes a road trip fun. But EV’s are not for everyone.
@@John_1303 well the good news is that we will be releasing a light kit for the MBK-1 so you can register it, but in the mean time, depending on where you live, you could pick up a few lights off Amazon to make it street legal if you wanted to.

Go powersports shipping might take a minute and some prices are higher but they also have kits that you can't get anywhere else and I've even had them warranty out a tank grommet for my unitank when I was being a bone head and didn't drill the hole big enough. I like omb and ec and studz as well but in some aspects go powersports has what other places don't when it comes to minibikes.
Does anyone else see the irony of driving an electric car to transport a non emissions gas powered vehicle? When I first started wrenching, I was taught a lawnmower engine put out way more pollution than a gas V-8 with emissions. CO2 yay!

I watched your videos I watch the build Totally understand now. my first comment was based purely on visual aesthetic only because all mini bikes look and ride the same But because of what you guys was able to do with the versatility of interchanging parts that's where it's worth its weight in gold and on that note you guys have completely changed the mini bikes scene after seeing what actually went into this bike you nailed exactly what people are after in the small CC mini bike world so much as I would retract my first comment wish you guys the best on your journey can't wait to see what you have next
Think if you are going to pay that much to play with toys,you would get a small truck so you don't have to take apart and reassemble so many times... nice build though.
@@jeffwright9431 this is setup as a cruiser, it is not meant for drag racing. The engine is pretty much all stock with the governor. I’m sure some people will want to race with this bike, but we wouldn’t have made it from 1” tubing if it was a drag bike. Perhaps a good idea for our next project.
@@graemehill9260 if we made an electric kit, I’d want the batteries to be swappable so you wouldn’t have to wait for them to charge. I’d also want to make sure the range was more than enough to enjoy.
Well here are the actual numbers to consider. The average cost for diesel during that week was $3.85 per gallon. The average diesel truck gets around 18 miles per gallon. The trip was around 1,500 miles one way Which means it would take around 83.3 gallons of diesel to drive the same distance which would cost around $320.71 USD vs $144.45 in chagrining. That means you would spend $352.51 more to do the same trip with a diesel truck. To achieve the same results as our Model 3, you would need a truck that would get around 40 miles per gallon. If we did buy a truck, it would only be for the convince of being able to haul more bikes and an enclosed trailer. It would have nothing to do with the cost of gas or diesel.
I’m not down with EVs. Pain in the ass. I’m interested in Hydrogen prospects. Leave your car in my neighborhood and your mini bike will be gone and your EV would be F****d up.

But you are correct, I didn’t bend the tubes or weld them together, but I’d rather hire and work with someone who has over 50 years of experience, then try to do it all by myself. Yes, I could learn how to weld and invest in all the equipment needed to build our frames and spend years mastering the craft, but then we wouldn’t even have a prototype built yet which would really suck. And as far as being pasty… yeah, living in Canada doesn’t help that much with tanning. 👍

To achieve the same results as our Model 3, you would need a truck that would get around 40 miles per gallon.
If we did buy a truck, it would only be for the convince of being able to haul more bikes and an enclosed trailer. It would have nothing to do with the cost of gas or diesel.

We built this frame from scratch. But you are correct, I didn’t bend the tubes or weld them together, but I’d rather hire and work with someone who has over 50 years of experience, then try to do it all by myself.
Yes, I could learn how to weld and invest in all the equipment needed to build our frames and spend years mastering the craft, but then we wouldn’t even have a prototype built yet which would really suck.
And as far as being pasty… yeah, living in Canada doesn’t help that much with tanning. 👍
