great video, bottom fishing sure was busy....the part where your musing about a dogfish and we see the big thresher jump clear out of the water...priceless
HELLO FROM US HERE IN MAINE!! HOW BIG DO THE POLLOCK'S HAVE TO BE TO KEEP THEM ?? HOW BIG DO HADDOCK FISH HAVE TO BE TO KEEP THEM, COULD YOU TELL US PLEASE,N THANK YOU!! WE ARE NEW SUBSCRIBERS,
I run a 23ft mako. Easy enough to handle by myself but big enough to run the 25/30 miles to Jeffrey's on the right day. I've seen 20ft boats out there plenty of times. It's all about picking the right weather days, usually later spring early summer. Weather man isn't always right and I usually have a back up plan to fish inshore if it's too choppy on the way out. I also recommend buddy boating with another boat thats been out or even going on a weekend your first few times. There will be pleanty of other boats out there.
@@FishingWithBoyt Mako is a great boat! Now how is the inshore fishing up in Maine? It is a meme that it aint that great? Decades ago my father and I rented a 13' whaler in Bar Harbor and had a blast. with mackerel and harbor pollock. Have things dried up?
It is terrible. The blues show up for 3 weeks every August, the 40 inch stripers showed up in April and stayed till October, bagged a halibut 3 years ago and I see tog and winter flounder diving all the time.
I could watch Boyt fish all day 🎣
I love how the tag was still on the cutters. LOL. Great video.
And the saga of unrealistic expectations while fishing with Boyt continues!!!

@samwhipple4550 I'm confused by the question. If you are asking about the drag system it is an adjustable leaver drag
By the way, how big is the boat? What would you say is minimum for offshore in Maine?
