If you use ladders for most of the day you know you do everything in your power to make it work with what you have on your belt and on the top tray. I don’t do drywall but knowing you don’t have to get off the ladder until you run out of mud is nice. It’s like if your an electrician you wouldn’t have to get down to grab your drill, impact, hammer, channels, flatty and Kleins
I normally put a powerful magnet in each pants pocket, and just CLANK the tool I'm not using to the outside of the pocket. This tool might make me look less goofy, thank you.
I would scrape corners or anything before I even mix the modern. Put it on my Hawk as it starts to set the instant. You put it into the air.. You don't waste time doing prep work while you're mud is curing on your hawk
I do not and never will understand how people mix drywall mud so perfectly that it can stay on these weird drywall palettes but also spread like soft butter on the wall
You make that look so easy, and for any homeowner, that is a tough skill to master. 32 years and 7 houses and the best advice about drywall is to use less mud, and keep the coats thin. For big jobs? Hire a professional.
In 1979, I was working as delivery for a construction supply company….mainly delivering drywall and joint compound to the worksite. The guys who used a hawk were considered dinosaurs. I only ever saw one guy using one and he was in his 60s. I was 20 so he was ancient to me. Everyone else used the bread loaf looking pan.
Ive got one, dont use it for that as im a plasterer but it keeps my hawk flat and stops it from bending which annoys me andsaves me buying a new oneevery so often
I’ve found that I can usually hold my 12 inch trowel, 6 inch & 4 inch blade in the same hand as my hawk, then I ALWAYS keep my 3 inch in my back pocket.
I don't understand where the dividing line between using knives and a pan vs a whatever that stucco stuff is. I'm in SW Missouri. We use knives and a pan here.
When I get frustrated I use my hands and just start throwing and smearing mud everywhere... After sanding, people say it looks like an intentional swirl design. Lmao 😂
Can someone explain why in the usa do they tackle an area like this with drywall filler(not sure of the technical name) as opposed to skimming it with plaster?im in the uk..
As someone who knows a thing or two about hanging and mudding twice is a tragic understatement. Try 10 times. He made the video in less time than I spent cussing about who moved my trial again.
After watching a few drywall videos, I wonder why we ever stopped using lath and plaster. There's so much plastering in drywall, you might as well do the entire wall.

Yeah, I can't find it on Amazon
That's what fingers are for... You can hold different tools in your fingers and the hawk at the same time.
Without the extra weight
I like it, my biceps will grow with the time 😂
😂😂
For years I've used my back pockets, wicked cool
Or all in the mud pan, usually just 3
I just stick mine in the mud on the other side from my working side.

Lol how long does your mud last on the hawk?
A lot of us don't use ladders we use mini Baker pair of stilts or a bucket
@@amilli092 it don’t matter my mud travels on the man lift with me. 😓
You can also carry a tool belt and release the tension in your arms and prevent arthritis....
Tool belts have been proven to damage the nerves in the hips and waist over time.
Your floor.
Drywall knives don't just fit in a toolbelt nicely, man
@@TheKotor2309 when used with suspenders or shoulder straps, nope.
I hang my trowels in my pockets like a real drywall cowboy
That’s actually ingenious! From a practical standpoint, is very efficient.
He said "I can tale my 4" out!!" 😆
I normally put a powerful magnet in each pants pocket, and just CLANK the tool I'm not using to the outside of the pocket. This tool might make me look less goofy, thank you.
Brilliant, I like using a pan so I will now be using magnets, thanks. I don't like the idea of tool handles sticking out of the hawk.
But what if your knives are stainless? 😮
@@paulp1a Good point. My budget would never let me consider that possibility.
I only use a hawk for stucco, mud pan for joint compound, back pockets for knives.
I've always just carried the six with my left hand with the hawk. I don't need this... but I want it.
You must be a pro. Today I had 3 knives in my left hand with my hawk. Of course troweling with my right hand.😂
The hawk mate design is what a hawk should be in first place.
Needs a beer holder too then I won’t need my gf
😂
Should probably be a flask with a valve straw. Less spillage when you wobble around on the ladder. Safety first.
i like how hes ones of the few people in the would that can talk without moving his mouth
I'm a barista but I need this for some research.
I don’t get it
Never get off the ladder, except every 2 mins to fill the hawk again 😂

Back pocket
This is the only answer
Why is your left arm so big? You masturbate off-hand for added pleasure?
When I start rocking for a living, it will be my first purchase.
he has a strong hand respect
This reminds me of the one-man band who plays multiple instruments simultaneously using their hands, feet, and limbs. 😂😂
That is definitely a must have
“I can take my 4 inch out”…. Welp, no longer a family channel.
The 4 x 10 sounds terrifying
Respect and thanks!
Thank you so much
Buying it tomorrow

Much easier than having one in each finger, which limits you to only two knives.
Haven't seen your videos in a while and now they are popping up again
Just ordered 5, as always you're the best!
The hawk tuey mate
Lol just finished my drywalling, but this would have been handy.
I use a magnet on my ladder. It's just a magnet and a steel chain. It holds a greater variety of tools, bits and screws.
back and forth
For almost fifty bucks Canadian, it's out of range for all but the guy who does it for a living.

Perfect!
good idea but I would eventually get annoyed with having to clean the bottom...
Pants have two pocker ini can and i have a hammer holder for trowel.
Omg !! I can’t wait to get this!
Omg THANK YOU SO MUCH
Ive got one, dont use it for that as im a plasterer but it keeps my hawk flat and stops it from bending which annoys me andsaves me buying a new oneevery so often
I don’t even do drywall and I want one. I already own a hawk I’ve only used once 😂
I’ve found that I can usually hold my 12 inch trowel, 6 inch & 4 inch blade in the same hand as my hawk, then I ALWAYS keep my 3 inch in my back pocket.
...i need that, now!
Where do you put extra chalking

I hate how easy you make mudding look lol keep up the great info video :)
What tool can you use to fill that hole with the black pipe ☺️
Why have I not seen you in forever
This has been my biggest obstacle I’m getting that one.
Can someone explain why in the usa do they tackle an area like this with drywall filler(not sure of the technical name) as opposed to skimming it with plaster?im in the uk..
WHY HAVE I NEVER KNOWN ABOUT THIS?! THANKS!! 🎉
I need one of those hawk tuahs mate
Experience man
Good to see those juvenile years spent spinning pizzas were not wasted.
I bought this tool on Amazon and it’s amazing
Pretty cool
When you get really good at drywall you only need a 6 in trowel
You guys mud walls before ceiling is even finished?
It’s WonkaVision!
It’s a good tool. I prefer a mud pan to a hawk but I see the perks of this👍
Or you just to separate tasks at sister times. No tool switching is the best tool switching.
Me, who just did the basement in the most DIY fashion ever. I didn't even know the correct tools for each application
You need a man , where is your husband in all of this ?
As someone who knows a thing or two about hanging and mudding twice is a tragic understatement. Try 10 times. He made the video in less time than I spent cussing about who moved my trial again.
You're like a French artist "wee wee monsieur"
😂 OK maybe I went too far
It's a good bicep work out too. I'll stick to my tool belt.
That's not how we do it, but I respect your tips. Never do drywall on a ladder. Use sheetrock benches or stilts. Good luck!
It does look cool but I use a pan and I don't think it work the same
After watching a few drywall videos, I wonder why we ever stopped using lath and plaster. There's so much plastering in drywall, you might as well do the entire wall.
They still plaster interior walls, If you can afford it.
So a piece of sheet metal with a hole drilled in it. Nice I’ll make 15
Masterful... but i have that without the plate. :D
Weapons on mass construction
I just hold any extra knives between my fingers of my hand holding the hawk.
Hawk tuah
I NEVER GOT CLARITY ON WHY SO MUCH PASTE IS USED… CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN… IN OTHER WORDS WHY PASTE IN BETWEEN SCREWS
Where do I get 1
Mmm drywall, so delicious!
Sprytny organizer👍
That's a pretty cool too tool
Drywall finishing memphis TN💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍👍
Slick, but waaaay too much extra weight on my arm. I’ll keep using pockets
They make tool belts you know.
So many Ron Popeils on UA-cam now.
Hello Mr George
So you have space between all your finger, and all those pockets, but still got that gadget?
Ok fair enough, it does look useful.
What about the mud?
I wonder how fast you get tied
Hey man…. You’re really good at that
I just do everything one step at a time. Till it's done. One tool per go.
No sanding in between. Wow
Respect to the dry wall guys for putting up with one of the absolute worst and most boring job out there
I need one.
Couldn’t you just attach a magnet to the underside of the hawk? Like on the edge… And you could put your various knives on that
There are gaps in between your fingers for holding tools
Magnets under there might work
Very handy Sir,
Use a pan... 10 times faster ..no spinning ....no mud running off..
Do they make a 'pan mate'?😅😮
