Great to see a vet that likes being on camera. And the ketosis tester, is what I as a type1 diabetic used 15 years ago for testing my ketones and blood sugar. Good to the testers are still in use and with all the new old stock that would be in the UK the testers are very inexpensive but the test strips I bet haven't come down in price much as they have a fairly short use by date

Richard you take care of all your animals and keep them happy... Its never great having to call in a vet as in some ways it can make you feel defeated in being able to care for your own animals .When the Vets do have to turm up and give a hopeful diagnosis things get better again.. Apart from the vets bill that is 😜😆🤭😮. Stay safe 🏴

Remembering James Herriot, he said the smell of pear drops was acetonemia. I’ve just looked that up and it’s the alternative name for ketosis!
In sheep they would get pregnancy toxemia. They called it twin lamb disease. With the associated pear drops smell on their breath.
