    QUESTION OF THE DAY: Would features do you look for in a hedge trimmer? Would you prefer this trimmer or a handheld one?

    • @harryfinch4986
      @harryfinch4986 4 роки тому +1

      Handheld for side of higes but for the tops long reach but you can use it for the sides 👍

      I'm probably faster with the handheld trimmer, but this one is decently fast too.

      @@MarkThomasBuilder bought it and have been using it. I also use it to weed out the long weeds and herbs in the dishes around the land. Thanks again

    Would’ve been nice if it had a sweeper guard. Manicured brush is then pulled where you wanted it to fall. Saves a lot of time.

      ECHO makes a single sided hedge trimmer for sweeping the clippings to the ground. I tested it out before and wouldn't mind having one.

    This is the only type of hedge trimmer I use. Longer the better. Trimming 12’ x5’ hedges ain’t possible with a little short one.

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  2 роки тому

      Definitely more versatile and safer by not needing a ladder, up to a certain point.

      @@MarkThomasBuilder yeah, only con I see is weight. I have to use a snorkel lift to trim the tops of our hedges, it’s really a pain.

    Hey REDMAX, take notes on how easy/ simple Echo has made their articulating head.

    Is this basically the same as the ECHO PAS articulating trimmer attachment ?

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  3 роки тому

      Yes, it's just a dedicated trimmer. ECHO just released a shorter version of this too.

    • @groundcontrol2795
      @groundcontrol2795 2 роки тому

      It is the same end. You can put it on the end of any power unit, whether it's a string trimmer, straight shaft stick edger, etc..

  • @jesuschristfirst5775

    How much better is this than the pas articulating attachment?

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  3 роки тому

      I'm guessing it's very close to the same as this setup. I've run it both and they seem very similar.

    Does that black plastic that is bolted to the blades come off? Or what is it’s use? Thanks in advance!!

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  3 роки тому

      The black plastic is meant to stay on. I believe it's a safety guard to protect the user from cutting things like vinyl siding against a house .

    Could u just get the articulating trimmer and attache it to the echo 2620pas system.?...would it b cheaper?...hahah the black shield looking thing looks like the hca has sunglasses:-)

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  4 роки тому

      I believe it's cheaper to get the PAS system.... I'll have to look at the shield part again. I can see how they have the shape of sunglasses.

    On my 3rd version of this model and the new model like you have is the poorest of them all. Takes ages to run after starting and the blade guard ruins the cutting performance. I'll be taking the guard off for next season.

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  2 роки тому +2

      I've noticed the engine takes a minute to warm up as well before use. I haven't noticed the guard being a problem though. My best advice is to use ECHO Red Armor Blade Cleaner & Lubricant. I use this regularly and it seems to help with overall performance.

    My HC-2020 has Troubles Warming Up. It takes about 10 Minutes! What is the Problem here. It’s always maintained, greased, etc

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  3 роки тому +1

      That's a common trait with ECHO trimmers. The hedge trimmers take the longest to warm up. I recommend putting ECHO Red Armor Blade Cleaner after every use. I talked with an expert from ECHO and he said the engine warms up the fastest if you let it idle for a couple minutes first, instead of revving it. They all need warm up time again even if you only put it down for 15 minutes. Once they warm up, they're great hedge trimmers. Hope that helps.

    Sorry if I missed this, but how hard is it to handle? Is it very heavy at the cutting end when you hold it straight out? I have a battery powered earthwise and that thing breaks my back because the motor is at the end that cuts.. Thanks!

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  2 роки тому +2

      This one is balanced quite well. I don't think you'll experience the backaches with this one.
