Thank you all so much for the love on this video 💜💜💜There's now a full series on my channel, and will be playing Subnautica in VR when he hit 1000 followers on Twitch 🥹
go back of the aurora for alot of free loot😄😄😄😇 when it says there is mulitple deteced leavinthen class lifeforms they are very cute kind of big and go the same dierectoin u were going :)
“Is this why the techno music has started?” GIRL the dj in this ocean is FIRE
abandon ship goes HARD🔥🔥🔥
They have a hot crustacean band
Her asking: 'Does it end?'
Me thinking: 'Yeah, kind of, but not the way you'd like'
oh no
@@vahlanayruyeah the devs created a very nice way that fits the lore but stops you from going past their world- xD
Beware the void, there be ghosts in them waters

I'm a certified scuba diver, I love the water, and let me tell you this game freaks me the fuck out. It's great.
I'm planning to take scuba diving license this year. After playing this game, I realized that I have awaken my inner thalassophobia and intend to cancel the plan. But after reading your comment, I think I'll surely take the license.
"Look at all that open space! Not going there!"
Everyone who knows where she'll have to go to complete the game: 🤣🤣🤣
Please nooooo
Indeed. Even though some of the creatures become a bit more scary the further down you go, it also becomes prettier. And the farming for materials is a pain in the butt.😅
@@vahlanayrutrust me, I’m not afraid of the ocean it’s cool and majestic it’s just the fear of the unknown that terrifies me.. it gets scarier even Subnautica Below Zero is terrifying.
Floating island boutta be crazy
Playing the Jaws theme was fucking sadistic hahaha 😂
I dunno, I think the roaring and "Are you certain what you're doing is worth it?" soundbytes were even worse.
The reaper got you immediately because your health was low. Their bite does 75 damage so if you're below 75/100 health it'll get you.
noted, thanks!
For having this fear, you did very well. As you continued, you seemed less and less stressed about even going into the water. The thing that got you in the end (reaper leviathan) gets lots of players, it’s not to be messed with early on… or later on, really.
Thank you so much! I did slowly get a little comfier once I kind of new my surroundings. That reaper can get wrecked
The game sure showed her something else 32:26
lmao
Lol
I'm quite shocked she survived that long going back and forth.
you and me both
32:34
Reaper leviathan : did i jumpscare you? Yeah i bet i did you coward, you make me sick, your weakness is pathetic
I just realized that this game is perfect for giving people with thalassophobia a survival scenario experience in a more safer environment.
I hope it allows me to get over my fear, and doesn't make it worse 😅
"I'm under the water" killed me 😂
10:16
Who the hell played the Reaper roar in the safe shallows, lmao.
what was going on there? did the reaper actually get into the shallows? Never had that happen to me
@@gr4yf0x8 I think someone in chat played the Reaper roar to troll her
Too good
10:12
reapers sometimes get close to the safe shallows and you can hear their roar its happened to me so I'm not sure, it sounded real but they can't attack you at spawn unless you go near and provoke them and lead them their other then that it was safe
The thing with Reaper leviathans is that they use echo location. Meaning if you can hear it. It knows where you are. Yes this logic has been programmed into the game
That's insane but good to know, thanks!
Thats unfortunately not true. Yes, they do that canonically, but it isnt implemented in the game afterall. I like to think it is tho, makes them more terrifying.
The echo location is not at all coded in game
Very weird and untrue claim.
No, actually. The logic was not programmed into the game. That's just the lore. But even then, the Reaper doesn't stop being terrifying.
I had such terror playing this game i'd quit shaking like a leaf sometimes. But man, it was worth it. I encourage everyone to finish this one!
I took a step away from stream at one point to compose myself, felt super rewarding that I even started it but will defo be coming back at some point
Subnautica can do one of two things to thalassophobes: it either lets them overcome their fear, or enhance it.
Btw you're first experience of Subnautica could've been better had your viewers not been sending audio that not only deceived you but also spoiled some parts of the game. Whoever they are, they are sh** for not keeping their antics to themselves.
ikr although i too might have tried to deceive her but spoiling some parts of the game really ruins the overall enjoymment of the story and the appreciation
It made my thalassophobia a bit better.😊
or 3rd option is it gives you thalassophobes if you dont have it
I don't have thalassophobia but I think that this game is starting to develop it on me xD...Every time I go near the Aurora I become a baby and get scared so easly, the nights are so dark and those reapers scare the shit out of me...I think I am in mid-early game now and I have explored both the two islands and the alien base, but onestly I'm so scared to go in the abyss of this game...God please help me😂.I'm loving this experience tho
9:12 person playing Jaws theme, you evil bastard 😂
Im glad im not the only person who went to the back of the ship thinking it was the entrance on my first time playing lol
Hope you make this a series, for the record you were braver than most when facing the noodle boi at the end. Most people run (or swim) away at first sight of it
Seems like the best place right? and thank you! I'll be coming back to Subnautica in the future
- Well, you CAN get in at the back, there are about 3 different ways to get in, each with their own hurdles to overcome.
@@Arthaius wait you can get in at the back where?
@@samtheman1339 - There is an access point in three different locations from what I recall can't exactly describe it other than best as I can remember there was front (which is where the most people go in) the back (where you meet the horror of your life) and there USED to be an access at the side facing the escape pod, although I think that entrance may have been closed but it was 100% there in the past because I used it all the time, it was a quick way to get in to the reactor room fast and I always went in there so I know it was there, but I haven't seen it recently so not even sure if any of the routes are the same anymore. For example, right now I am going in he usual way through the front but cannot find all the offices I used to be able to access where you find the cool stuff for your base, so I feel like I am missing something some doorway or access I cannot find now.
@@Arthaius The side entrance was sealed and the two remaining entrances are both at the front.
new player with thalassophobia plays subnautica
subnautica veteran 0.1 seconds later- " swim to the back of the aurora"
It took me more than 200 hours to finish the game because I was scared to swim deeper haha... I can understand your feelings :)
One thing I can say though: It became one of my favorite games evers
I've heard this a lot! I'm hoping it will help me tackle my fears
I love to imagine that the survivor you play as has Thalassophobia too, but the game is them slowly facing and conquering their fears in order to survive.
Sending her to the back of the Aurora was brutal. That's a place you NEVER WANNA GO.
We all had the worst experience of thalassophobia, the first time playing subnautica
Always a joy to get to see someone experience this for the first time so long after its initial release. Please make more Subnautica videos, because I will watch every single one 🙏
You went over to the Aurora without a vehicle, and took a direct hit from a Reaper and survived. That's more than I can say
went from no dont chase me to HAVE AT THE real quick
Queen of the ocean 👑
That was genuinely one of the best first reaper reactions ive ever seen
You don't normally hear the Reaper in the Shallows that was crazy. That would completely catch me off guard.
Loved this video, hope youll continue playing the game!!
As someone with thalassophobia myself, even seeing Subnautica at UA-cam stress me. I definitely respect you for facing your fear. And if you're brave enough to play, I'll try to be brave enough to watch the whole thing.
Good luck queen! You can do this!
Thank you 💜 This is the nicest comment ever. Thalassophobia sucks, thank you for watching the video. I know how tough it would've been - we're gonna challenge this together!
As a subnautica veteran i'm just gonna say dont go into the void if you dont want to get eaten by a 110m luminescent snake
Seeing people play this game for the first time still after all this time gives me a warm feeling that I spoiled for myself by watching all the playthroughs of it. It fills me with childlike wonder knowing that even after 10 years this game is still going strong.
Also 8.1k views but only 205 subscribers...
I have Thalassophobia, but when I see other people with it play this game I think maybe mine's not so bad. I mean don't get me wrong I had pretty bad knots in my stomach toward the beginning, but I was still able to play it without externally freaking out at all. You do get used to it though. Some hours in and I was just focused on whatever I was trying to do. By the end it was no more scary than any other game.
I really hope this is the case for my playthrough, I'd love to be able to play ocean based games without wanting to scream, cry and throw up all at once
@@vahlanayruYou'll get there. You might scream, cry and throw up along the way, but you'll get there 😆
climbing out of the pod and freaking out at the unending ocean in all directions is so relatable
Dude. Without a doubt, the ballsiest Subnautica video I've seen. Like, the level of fear vs the level of achievement. The deep water portions of this game made me feel ill when I started, but nowhere close to how scared you were, and I STILL won't do what you willing did with that Reaper, holy shit!
ah yes, a fellow shallows enjoyer.
Always love seeing a new gameplay of Subnautica. Deff reccomend trying this game again.
You are in for a ride, but you're gonna fall in love with this game. Trust me, this game is so infatuating
I hope so! Thank you so much. I’m gonna conquer my fears, one peeper at a time
@@vahlanayru I love it. I dive at night all the time.
I have that phobia in real life but in Subnautica it's not too bad. Getting lost in a cave and drowning makes me anxious but diving deep is so fun.
Came here for the reaper jumpscare.. hate to admit it got me too 😂
Seeing reactions to the leviathans especially with a person with thalassophobia warms my heart hahaha
Funny little fact about the reaper leviathan, if you hear it, it already sees you.
32:26 - gold.
Honestly you did amazingly well, well done!!
From a fellow thalassophobe, you did an amazing job. I managed to get a bit of a way into this game until I reached a point where I had a full on mental breakdown and my partner had to tell me it was okay and I didn't have to keep pushing myself. I have never picked it up again. I know it goes one of two ways for folks, but seeing in the comments that you plan to return to it, I'm rooting for you!! I hope it does you well! And your edits were delightful!
Thank you so much. Kudos to you for picking up the game and trying, that's an achievement in itself. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and that you're here cheering me on 💜
Why did you have to be so fearless in a situation where you should've been scared the most 🤣😭
I also have extreme thallasophobia and i havent been able to beat this or below zero like at all. I hate open areas and deep parts but when i see the dangerous creature it doesnt scare me that much anymore. Until its out of my sight💀 Cant wait for you to discover the void, the single most terrifying thing I have ever seen in a game👁👄👁
"Oh my god you are disgusting"
Reaper: >:(
i was like "yes, when she encounters reaper its definetly end of the video" :D but to be honestly you did much better that i expected :D
Are you certain whatever you're doing is worth it? 😂 Great vid!!
Well, that was painful... And I mean for me.
So mean guys with your sounds. This game isn't that bad. Take your time around the safe shallows and go at your own pace. I want to see more of this game on your channel please
I always enjoy it when a new blueprint is ack-wired.
A little advice- if you hold a fish in your hand and feed it to the predator (such as a stalker or even a huggy boi(the one that killed you in the end)) it will leave you alone for some time.
scary games are scary. still, this one was pretty awesome. I hope you can grow to enjoy its beauty.
The way everyone craps themselves when seeing a reaper leviathan for the first time lmfao 🤣
I have thalassophoblia and went on a stag do to Croatia. One of the days was spent on a speedboat, island hopping, and some of that boat trip was spent going out into the open sea. Some parts I was calm, but other moments I was absolutely crapping myself, especially when we were going fast and the boat was leaping into the air. Basically, it didn't cure my fear, however facing your fears is a good thing to do to grow. I felt some achievement afterwards, especially as it was basically a whole day.
Good for you for even getting on the boat in the first place! It's a hard fear to overcome but I hope when it wasn't too bad you had fun. I've been told Croatia is a beautiful place!
This game turns scary when someone is terrified of everything lol.
I would recommend from a verteran player here to never go behind or in front the of the Aurora. The only way to get jnto it is the big open blown up part in the front but dont go past that. I would also recommend bringing a laser cutter, repair tool, and a couple fire extinguisher and also an empty inventory. Dont go until you find all the crew logs first cause there are like 4 codes you need to progress the game. Really i would just avoid it until you find and get at least a sea glide and propulsion gun because stuff needs to be moved atound quite a bit and you cant without it. Sorry i hope this all makes sense. Enjoy the fear of this game that even i get when i see the reaper. Lmao
no subnautica *gives* you Thalassophobia
You shouldve seen how it was for me, after i bought the game almost every day i opened it forced myself to click on play and i couldnt even get inside the waters, first 5 hours of my gameplay was me trying to find who was making the roars in the shallow waters ( gaspods). it took me around 70 hours to finish the game.
imagine you have to go deeper up 1 mile in this and more lol
subbed! i love first time players ! be brave !!
Thank you!
i love videos like this theyre so interesting to me haha
Glad you like them!
Was awesome to see this woman play this, much fun indeed, Her accidentally dodging the leviathan without even looking back was great :)
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video 🤗 That reaper was tryna sneak attack me
"swea*ing* happy to come across your channel, you have a new subscriber!
Crazy how this got 21k views with 414 subs, she really popped off with this vid. Congrats
Thats exaactly how I felt playing Subnautica and thats also why I didnt play it all the way through xDD
Subnautica actually cured my Thalassophobia, I would get goospebumps looking at the menu screen, but now I can play it normally.
Praying this happens for me!
When you played this game for a while you realize the “Shallows” is the safest spot in the entire ocean.
I am so much comfier in the shallows now than I was before, it's my cozy safe spot
There are a couple of safer places, as long as you have a source of oxygen. Sparse Reef and Cove Tree have no dangers whatsoever. Safe Shallows has Crashfish and the gas mask dugongs
I feel your pain. Subnautica is SOOO scary for me.
Barotrauma would be AMAZING for you!
Adding to the list, stay tuned (if I'm feeling brave enough)
32:25 I ALMOST PUNCHED MY SCREEN LIKE OMFG
I enjoyed playing and finishing this game once, ONCE! Never again. Oh, that reaper gives me the chills.
GGs on finishing the game! ✨
Just be glad you didn’t enter the void
9:12 “Aw, sweetie! That was mean!”
Oh god this is like me playing stranded deep and having a panic attack and hyping myself up every time i had to go in the water. Get chills up my spin and sweat. Run in grab what i needed and ran out. Kill sharks on a boat and spend 5 mins or more making sure there wasn't more.
i have the same fear and just 100% the game the other day! it doesnt get less stressful. it will be horrible the whole playthrough. you should play it anyways tho cause itll be awesome.
Congrats on finishing the game! I've heard this, I'm hoping it's as rewarding as everyone has mentioned 🙏
Yea the leviathans will be a big surprise for you
Not gonna lie saw the title and immediately clicked! Sounded like too much fun to watch! Sorry for you, but happy for us! Hope the views at least help!!
10:16 EVEN I GOT SCARED HOLYYY
32:23 Bahahaha 😂😂😂
this game has given me SO MANY nightmares! especially after i saw the mod where they brought the gargantuan leviathan to life ;-;
they did what...to WHAT
@@vahlanayru that's what i thought when i first heard about it!! it's so scary just hearing it's distant roar gives me goosebumps knowing how massive it is
You are really underrated
Thank you so much 🥺💜
To make you feel better. There are way more ways to die in space than in the ocean. Like WAY more.
Fun bonus fact, you can open your inventory and "eat" a raw Bladderfish if you run out of air and are drowning, it will give you 15 more seconds of air and buy you time. You also swim slower with an object in your hand, and you can throw fish at most aggressive predators for them to eat and it will pacify them and make them non-aggressive to you for a short period of time. Stalkers befriended this way will even bring you scrap metal offerings.
Thank you so much for the tips, I'll try to keep these in mind for the next episode
I also have severe thalassophobia. The first time I played Subnautica I always swam on the surface and dived down. And I didn’t do anything at night. But it got soooo much better after many hours.
Night time = hide in pod, 100% agree. Well done for playing the game with your fear!
Good luck 🤞 💜
I have a pretty similar level of thalassophobia and I couldn't make it out of the beginning area and was sweating buckets while trying not to throw up the whole time 😅😂
Thank you!! 💜 It's such a horrible feeling, good on ya for giving it a go!
Bro 3:40 it’s literally a sound when you’re doing some quests before the Butcho one on the Pier in Dead Island 2
Everybody watching; yep we want you to go to the back of the Aurora. lol
One of the worst experiences of my life 😅
Okay, amazing vid. Subnautica is a W game but freaking terrifying xD but once you get used to this game, you gotta move onto Subnautica Below Zero it has even more GIANT fishies in there
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm really excited to try and get used to the games, and hopefully play through both
Girl you’re freaking me out swimming in and out on the surface. 😅
Mb, I panic 😅
I also have this fear and playing this game is a hell for me, the first 5 minutes in when I was playing I was about to cry and screamed at anything approaching me at all. Including bladder fish. The unknown alien things in deep waters freak me out so much, I wouldn't be able to play if it wasn't for my bestie being on call with me for emotional support.
I completely get where you're coming from. The ocean is another world, and anything that lives in it can stay as far away as possible. It's their world, not ours and it makes it so much scarier.
I'm proud of you for trying the game though! Huge W from your bestie too for supporting you 🫶
@@vahlanayrubut I love,the ocean
I have Thalassophobia myself, but not this severe. I do freak out hard if im in the ocean and its too dark to see whats below me. But in a well lit shallow safe area like the start of the game, I think I would be okay swimming around. I managed to get through this game mostly without any issues, but some of the really deep dark areas did spook me.
Well done for giving the game a go with your fear, I hope you enjoyed it! I'm not looking forward to what the darker areas hold...
You're braver than me to put yourself through this game because me? I could not so applause to you 😭😭
I am a fellow thalassophobe and I am very pleased to see I am not the only one who outright refused to enter the water at first. 😂 You're so brave. Good job!
Well done for trying the game! Thank you so much 💜 Us Thalassophobes gotta stick together
10:50 the developers need to add the trick when you got an egg the mother try follow you lol
This is 100% what I thought was going to happen lol

The WHAT
As a hardcore Subnautica player, I love watching people that are scared of this game.
(P.S go to the end of the map ;D)
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 💜✨
P.S I can't help but feel suspicious that there are no good things at the end of the map😑
As a fellow thalassophobian, I commend your bravery ma'am. Mine doesn't go as far as fear of water in general, but deep, obscured bodies of water gives me so much anxiety, its so uncomfortable, even just watching it. What makes it worse for me is that I also suffer from submechanophobia, so I can't see myself playing this game. Oddly enough, even with a simple visual triggering me, there's something in me that just can't look away. 🤷
Thank you very much! That's kind of you to say 💜
Thalassophobia + Submechanophobia sounds like this game would be absolute torture for you. But I understand what you mean, the curiosity is so strong. I've gotchu! Close your eyes when it gets too spoopy 🙈
@@vahlanayru Must, look! 😆 As I sweat off every last ounce in 5 seconds. Honestly, people like you who put yourselves through it just confirm that there's no reason for me to not try and face my fears.
