    I am a staff nurse in Queensland, Australia. My base pay is $50/ hour, that pay rate is only if you work morning shift on an ordinary day Monday to Friday. But if you work afternoon shift, night shift, weekends, public holidays the pay is a lot higher. For example if I work on Easter Sunday my pay rate is $175 per hour. Australia is the best place to be. I am originally from the Philippines.

    You will never regret moving to Australia. You will save more money and improve your standards of living. I lived in Canada for 8yrs and recently moved to Australia, I think I would advise anyone not to underrate Australia. It is the best place to be. You will work and see your money unlike in Canada, taxes will eat up your money and you will be left with nothing. You will enjoy excellent weather. Mehn , Australia is great. The only issue here is you must ensure you have someone to accommodate you if you are not sponsored by employer, because applying for a house to live is frustrating as you might not get a house immediately.

    Why are some people giving negative vibes? The person have been registered in UK, New Zealand and Australia and can therefore decides to practice wherever she wants. If you aren't interested in her reasons for migrating to Australia, you can comfortable stay where you are. But it's good to share information, because it's necessary to make a decision about ones destiny. I support Nurse Deo even though I will still be in the UK.😊

    I live in Australia and talking to UK nurses it seems like things are a lot easier over here. My grandmother worked in the NHS as a nurse, she worked in our local hospital, I remember visiting the hospital as a kid (I was even born there), the place was overwhelmed with patients, lots of drunks and people with stab wounds, this was on the outskirts of Glasgow. I can only compare that experience to my current nursing job in Australia, it's seems Australian hospitals are definitely not as bad as the UK, there are still stressors in the hospital but it is definitely better than the madness of British hospitals. Seems like a easier like for British nurses in the UK.

    Nurse Deo I like your energy and enthusiasm however things always seem greener in the other end until you’ve been there. The cost of living in Australia is way higher than in the UK. Australia is large hence proximity within is a nightmare as well as towards the rest of the world! You could live in London and commute to Paris everyday for work. But you need to fly into another city in Australia. While within 3 hours drive, you’re in the middle of England. Also the Australian scourge is mad, wild & dangerous animals everywhere..
    In terms of accommodation and space the U.K gives you more options with a minimal budget. You could live in a mansion in the U.K as well if you have 80% of the budget you need to rent in Australia. Culturally speaking, Australia is a cultural wasteland. Consequently, if you love literature, art, history, and intellectual life, the UK is definitely the right choice. When you put all these into consideration I’ll still choose the U.K and do locum nursing instead of moving from country to country looking for what I’ve already found in England.
    You can have up to 3 or 4 nationality if you wish, I have 3.
    Distance from home, their mindset is totally different.

      Hello. I am an Australian and I would like to respond to your comments. The idea that we have dangerous animals is a myth. Yes ,we do have some dangerous creatures, but your chances of encountering them is quite low. Please talk to someone from the UK who has actually visited Australia who I am sure will confirm that. I'm not sure how you determined that Australia is a cultural wasteland. We have thriving live theatre and music industries, a respected tertiary education sector , a range of popular spectator sports and sporting pastimes. Literature and writing is popular . We have 2 government funded broadcasters , the ABC and SBS which offer a range of culturally rich television and radio programming. Is is a long way from Europe, that true. But Australian employment conditions compare favourably with the rest of the English speaking world ,so Australians ,especially those with good jobs do have the income and free time to travel. It's true the cost of housing and accommodation is high .That's definitely a downside but generally , It's a welcoming and accepting multicultural country where people usually accept you at face value. Sure we have our share of racists and bigots but that's true in every country. I really feel you have a outdated stereo-typical view of my country which does not reflect reality. Thanks for listening.

      @petermcculloch4933 Рік тому +3

      My wife and I watch the BBC News and we are under the impression the cost of living in the UK is sky high.Health workers, public transport employees etc. are striking, people can't afford to pay energy bills, shortages exist across the board.You can keep your drafty mansion, miserable weather and ghastly food.It is 32 degrees here and life is good.

    • @bellabana
      @bellabana Рік тому +4

      Claiming Australia is a cultural wasteland is wrong on every level. We have a thriving Art, music and theatre scene from the cities to regional areas. Plus because we’re a multicultural society we have restaurants from all over the world. We have a thriving cafe culture as well.
      We also have world class sporting events from the Tennis to the Grand Prix. As the majority of people live around the coast and due to our weather we have an outdoor lifestyle as well with beaches everywhere.
      There’s a reason why Australian cities like Melbourne and Sydney etc are voted the the most livable cities in the world. You’ve obviously never lived here as Australia it’s the opposite of your claims.

The kind of money RNs make here, I almost considered switching profession at some point. Don't even talk about agency nurses, those ones na blood money dey dey make.

    I am still confused. The USA pay a lot more. Non degree nurse in the USA can easily get $50 = $75 AUD. A nurse with an entry level degree can get $75 = $112AUD. After 40 hours you are payed 1.5 hours, that $112 = $168 AUD PER HOUR. You can’t beat the USA in terms of money or lifestyle period. At 36 hours a week (that’s full time in the US) that’s over $14,000 AUD a month

      It's not only about the pay, if it's the pay we will all be in Luxembourg as they pay better than the US.
      Australia nurses can earn better than us nurses too, their travel nursing contract can be as high as 4k AUD Per week in regional areas with low cost of living. In the USA The bigger the pay the higher the cost of living.
      This video is not to compare USA to Australia but if I am to compare I'll still choose Australia.
      Better weather
      Safety
      More annual leave
      Nice work environment
      Good for raising kids
      Less population
