one of my best friends ever is a mega kate bush fan. the first time i heard this song, we were smoking and i was so high i could barely comprehend what i was hearing. the quick & snappy rhythm, the insane vocal performance, the oddly biblical and self-aware and existential (almost self-deprecating) lyrics, the child-like scared whispering in the background, it put me in a headspace i don't know how to describe. it was like i was a child again or something. it was almost like a song i heard before i was born, wherever you are before you live, and hearing it again took me back to that place. it took me back to a place i can't even really comprehend or i even know for sure exists. chills. i love this song because of that.
A lot of other artists back then did this. We had only radio and broadcast tv, which was boring. We would get high and sit in each others bedrooms listening to albums together. Just people, sitting in a room, listening to music, for hours on end. Those albums took us on spiritual journeys.
Just as beautiful and fresh as it sounded more than 30 years ago. Timeless. Some insight into the meaning of the song from Kate herself: "The idea of the song is that of being given a glimpse of 'God' - something that we dearly want - but being told that unless we work for it, we will never see it again, and even then, we might not be worthy of it. Of course, everybody wants the reward without the toil, so people try to find a way out of the hard work, still hoping to claim the prize, but such is not the case. The choruses are meant to express the feeling of entering timelessness as you become ready for the experience, but only when you are ready."
It's odd that people needed an explanation for this one. It's probably one of her most straightforward songs. The lyrics pretty much say exactly what it's about haha
@@razrv3lc i'm sure most people know it's about wanting something and not wanting to work for it. but a lot of people, especially those who didn't grow up in the organized church, may not have understood all the biblical references kate makes in this song, which are what i think gives the song so much of its power. comparing something you want to a god that you can see but can't reach -- and some people may not have gotten the god part.
[Verse 1] Out in the garden there's half of a heaven And we're only bluffing - we're not ones for busting through walls But they've told us unless we can prove that We're doing it we can't have it all I want it all [Verse 2] He's gonna wangle a way to get out of it She's an excuse and a witness who'll talk when he's called But they've told us unless we can prove that We're doing it we can't have it all I want it all, I want it all We can't have it all I want it all [Pre-Chorus 1] "I caught a glimpse of God, all shining and bright..." [Chorus] Suddenly my feet are feet of mud It all goes slow-mo I don't know why I'm crying Am I suspended in gaffa? Not until I'm ready for you Not until I'm ready for you Can I have it all? [Verse 3] I try to get nearer, but as it gets clearer There's something appears in the way - it's a plank in me eye With a camel who's trying to get through it Am I doing it? Can I have it all now? I want it all [Verse 4] I pull out the plank and say, "Thank you for yanking me Back to the fact that there's always something to distract But sometimes it's hard to know if I'm doing it right" Can I have it all now? I want it all Can I have it all now? I want it all Can I have it all? I want it all I can't have it all [Pre-Chorus 2] "We all have a dream... maybe" [Chorus] Suddenly my feet are feet of mud It all goes slow-mo I don't know why I'm crying Am I suspended in gaffa? Not until I'm ready for you Not until I'm ready for you Can I have it all? [Verse 5] I won't open boxes that I am told not to I'm not a Pandora, I'm much more like That girl in the mirror between you and me She don't stand a chance of getting anywhere at all I want it all Not anywhere at all I want it all No, not a thing I want it all She can't have it all [Pre-Chorus 3] "Mother, where are the angels? Man, this woman has always been so enchanting to me in all respects: her looks, her moves, her various voices, her music, her everything. An incredibly fascinating woman, the more so as you keep in mind her young age back then. What a wonderful human being!!!
I cant even explain what this song does to me... It just breaks me and makes me feel a sense of familiarity and dreaming. I had a wonderful old art tutor when I was very young and she was the first person I ever felt like I had a true emotional and spiritual connection... The scene where Kate hugs this older woman.. Thats what my tutor looked like... I grew up, we fell out, I was depressed and shutting others out... Now years later... Theres no way of me contacting this woman in the flesh, but rather... I feel she is my angel. I still feel her warmth and presence. I would love to know who Kate was feeling that towards in this video... Imagine being lost in your own whimsy and never feeling grounded... Yet a hug from who ever she was is what she dreamed of most. Its shattering yet I feel so much love. Oh my gods... This song always was special to me and to see the video truly ROCKED me!
Okay, beside the fact that Kate's lyrical, vocal and dance prowess are in full force here, let us give major props to the director and editor of this early 80s video!! What a stellar achievement all around. Pure genius from everyone involved. 🤩
One of the most underrated songs of all time this woman is everything I aspire to be, she’s so unbelievably talented and beautiful and weird in the most amazing way……makes me feel so much at peace i love you Kate thank you for being just awsome ❤💕
I have only started listening to Kate about 1 year ago. I never thought I would ever be so absolutely taken with anybody, and I love music, it's always been a big part of my life. Kate is beyond Artist, I see it in your eyes she is really a very good person she is so unbelievably humbled, shy, sweet, and whether she knows it or not I believe that she's a messenger of light just like so many other artists but for some reason she really gets to she literally cheers me up and it's odd because I have never met her but I've never met anybody like me and her lyrics even though so many years ago I know are empathetic nature because it's my own she made me feel less alone and I really wish I could get a chance to say thank you for at work for her did you see that for some reason because she deserves it. I couldn't believe I had never heard about her considering my mother had me listening to Floyd since I was 2 butt to be honest if I had really listened before last year I would have never really understood all of those elusive lyrics I Love suspended in gaffa because I'll never forget when I just got what the lyrics met . she's kind of like the David Lynch of music a lot of people aren't going to understand and it's not something that can be explained it's not about being on the inside or being you smarter it's about something that really people find because it's not spoken publicly about and really it's not common knowledge the only people who really know where the people who really really seek and most people don't even know there's something to search for..... what really gets me is she wrote those songs most of them be early as as young as twelve years old 13 that is truly unbelievable she really helps me and I'm sure so many others cuz there's not a lot of us we're kind of the recluse because people never see things the same way that we do always the black sheep most of us never knowing why. she's a messenger for all of us, Elton John put it perfectly when he said that she is the most beautiful mystery :-)
Reading this feels like everything I have ever thought about her. She is art, poetry, strength and a mystery and her work gives me a wide range of feelings. :-)
I discovered her in December. I saw her on an SNL rerun from '78, when she performed Man With the Child in His Eyes and I was absolutely entranced. So much time and music to make up for. I really REALLY wish she'd had a bigger presence here in the US.
Oh my god I am the exact same! I started listening to her in December last year - got the dreaming album after knowing all the hits since I can remember and I remember listening to it on spotify as I was going to sleep and the demonic "EEEaaawww" noises on "get out of my house" woke me up absolutely terrified. I listened to the album over and over again the next day on the way to a job interview (which I aced woo) and it took me so long to digest the whole thing..from there it was nothing but love; she is one of those artists that take you away from your real life and creates magical worlds to feast your mind on. I want to thank her too, I dream of being a kate bush impersonation act one day now and you can tell that she doesn't realise just how amazing a human being she is
I discovered her in december 2 years ago (funny how everyone discovered her in december). It was late at night (I had a hard time handling my depression) when I heard Moving for the first time. It was so different from all the things I heard before. It was strange, it was mystic and so I tried to listen to every of her songs I could find. I also love her video clips and I was absolutely fascinated by Running up that hill and cloudbusting. I also started reading every book or poem that inspired her to write her songs. It's kind of an addiction and still feels like a theatrical journey when I enjoy her work. I am glad that everyone here seems to feel the same about this wonderful lady. And Sean Carter congrats that you got the job :-)
Haha I know that is weird eh?! Sad to hear about your depression, I know it's a struggle, one that's eased by the magic this lady has created! 'Lionheart' and 'the dreaming' in particular seem to cast a spell that sucks you into the world she's created, it's beautiful! Thanks for the congrats, I like to think kate is at least partially responsible :)
This is one of those rare, intense times of my life when I become completely addicted to a song, I mean to the point of insanity. I came back to this video at least 15 times today. And each time at 3:24 my soul is restored, over and over
The cut, the lighting, the sand, the facial angle and confident expression with the blinking of the eye, and the slow zooming out, with that particular piece of the music, at 0:12 creates a very VERY epic portrait to me, and a feeling, and its interrupted quite soon which the choreography, but that particular moment I find to be very special.
I wasn't cool 30 years ago when Ioved Kate. I wasn't cool 20 years ago when I loved Kate. I wasn't cool 10 years ago. Now I'm almost 50, and finally I'm in style.
I just turned 60! In 1982, I was blasting this and all of The Dreaming in my dormitory room in Adrian, Michigan, US, and actually thought I’d make friends 😂
I discovered Kate in 1981 when MTV launched in the US. I remember seeing this and other videos from The Dreaming. I immediately went out and purchased the album. I fell in love with her music and creativity. There will always be a place in my heart for Kate
My dad and his mates fancied her…pissed my mum off, now I’m in love…beautiful and so talented. Grew up on her music and I’ll always be in awe. Such a legend
this is my absolute favourite kate bush song ... I've been fascinated as far as I can remember... I don't think this was overseas remember it being on the old lp version of the album .. the dreaming helps me sleep ... miss u dad x
This song always makes me smile. I first heard it in 2009 (I was 19) when the band “Ra Ra Riot” did a cover. I remember my girlfriend at the time sending me a text saying something like “Ra Ra Riot didn’t write suspended in Gaffa! Here’s the original” and sent me a link. I remember thinking “Oh wow. This is like. Really strange” but don’t get too mad, I was a 19 year old punk rocker living in Winnipeg. I wasn’t ready! 3 years later, I found the album in a record store and did not hesitate to bring it home. So I could play it for my girlfriend. Same one who introduced me to Kate. That record changed my perspective and I fell absolutely in love with the music. And then the videos, and all live performances I could find online. Which isn’t many. But I understand why. I think. Anyways. That’s my experience. I’m a huge fan, I’m 32 now. I have every record. And I see this video differently now, in that I can actually appreciate it!
@@michellanea_ Yes the first albums are treasures! I also stopped listening when the cellist left. That was such a huge part of their sound. Absolutely love those first two records ❤️ “Oh La” has such a gorgeous string arrangement. One of my favourites to this day 😄!
"...back to the fact..." Kate accents with her arms those percussion hits 1:30 Then her right foot accents with hops and she stops at exactly the last percussion hit (...tried to describe...) 1:36 It's attention to those details which, taken as a whole, makes her music and videos unlike anything before or since. Wow-unbelievable!
Always been a Kate Bush fan but never really took notice of this track. It's one of my favourites now. So many layers and textures to it. Reminds me of sat in your lap a bit.
Facing recent loss in my life, I can say that this is a powerful poetry. It flows down warmly like a nice cup of coffee - an empathy of understanding. In this life, this Samsara, we are all suspended in the duct tape - this stickiness and the binding of our beliefs, feelings, emotions. Thank you Ms. Bush for this!
The Dreaming and the videos that accompanied it are pure, absolute genius. I love all her works up to The Red Shoes but in my book, NOTHING beats The Dreaming
I grew up listening to Kate Bush as my parents were big fans. Her music is incredibly nostalgic for me. As a child I was enchanted and scared by her at the same time. Rediscovering her as an adult now and I’m speechless at her talent.
I absolutely, unconditionally love Kate. Her music always takes me somewhere else - a place where "I can have it all," where I can dance a dream, where I don't dare swim in the waters of Lake Tahoe. I love you Kate...your music has fed my imagination for over forty years...from my 20s to my 60s you still move me and give me something timeless and beautiful. "L'amour looks something like you."
Because of Kate's indirect connection to David Gilmour of Pink Floyd, snarky comments on other videos say "It's who you know" vs "It's what you know". I can say, quite accurately, it is both. The 'who' is exemplified by Kate's hug with Hanna, her mother in this video. That, plus her influences by her musical father and her brothers, is all the 'who' she ever needed to succeed. Mr. Gilmour was only the most gracious catalyst to 'what' Kate can do. We are blessed to have Kate's genius amongst us.
Well put! Her talent was meant to surface, it had to, it’s that original. We all have our “connections,” and not one of us has “gotten” to where we are all on our own, good or bad.
the chorus of this songs is on of my favorite moments in song. the way it transitions almost like they are waiting and then "1,2,3,1, ready, go!" and they are off like waiting for the drop before waiting for the drop was a thing.
In 1982 I was 11 Years old and my sister had this Album. I was fallen in love in Kate and in this song. At this time I started to learn english in the school, I understood nothing. Now I understand the lyrics. The lyric is so amazing beautiful and very difficult to translate in german. Kate is so sweet and intelligent. Viva Kate.
I remember first hearing Kate Bush while hitch-hiking in a Volkswagen van on a lousy highway in northern Alberta, Canada. Nothing could have been more incongruous than hearing her operatic voice (on tape) singing Wuthering Heights that summer evening in the late 70's, I was asking myself 'who the hell is this woman?'---she was startling, so unexpected, and a revelation to the heart and spirit. Thank God for her work, her imagination, her nerve, she is fresh air from a very very good place.
Every detail from Kate using most of her soprano range - to the dynamic mix of dance steps - to her hugging her mum - to the vanishing at the end - just makes Kate a totally awesome entertainer and human being. Found Kate's brilliance later in my life. I'm just very glad I found her when I did.

Her freedom in creativity really has a string that wraps right round my heart and insides. Amazing what music and books can do for you
@@alexanderbolton the entirety of The Red Shoes is dedicated to her mother! Also Reaching Out from The Sensual World seems to be about her mother. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a joke. Considering what "artists" are in it, nothing more needs to be said. No need for Kate Bush to be inducted into it, she has made her music and influenced others who look up to her. Her music transcends generations. That goes farther than any jingoist "Hall of Fame".
Neuroneos Malcolm McLaren's pseudo-punk project Sex Pistols too? A single album granted them entry? Ritchie Valens? Bill Haley? Bee Gees? AC/DC (many metalheads think they're not even worth mentioning), George Harrison's contribution to music was questionable to more than just the ex-Beatles. Robert Christgau, a huge Beatles fan rated most of his albums C- . ABBA weren't even liked by Swedish critics, who constantly scratched their heads how they ever made it big abroad. Did they ever release a truly good album? Donna Summer?? Kiss, the Spice Girls of 70's hard rock? And then we come to Madonna. Kudos to her for managing to "reinvent" herself every four years and staying fit in her 50's. Musically she's not even on the radar. That is but mentioning a few. A few too many artists who made their names with covers and mainstream fame just to be ignored. And a few too many overlooked ones who truly were admired pioneers (many of which did commercially well) and made their *own* path in music rather than following trends. "Most artists in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame deserve to be in it, so what's your point?" Sounds like a cop-out to me. If that is your belief then what is your issue with Kate Bush not being in it? Obviously she's not worthy to be in this group of "most artsts" then. If that is your wisdom Mr./Ms.Troll then you can safely sit back and wait until the day they decide to follow your "copy and paste" youtube pyramid selling scheme. My point - in case that truly eluded you - is that the rock n roll hall of fame means even less than the Academy Awards these days, who seemingly hand out their Oscars on a whim on far too many occasions, so whether Kate Bush ever ends up in this "hall of fame" is irrelevant. So what is *your* point anyway?
Kate Bush's work is immortal - who cares about a meaningless (commercial) R & R Hall of Fame -- and who wants to travel to Cleveland anyway? I am not joking...
Her songs and performances seems wacky until you start listening to them on repeat and start enjoying every bloody second of them. What a crazy genius of a singer/writer/performer.

one of my best friends ever is a mega kate bush fan. the first time i heard this song, we were smoking and i was so high i could barely comprehend what i was hearing. the quick & snappy rhythm, the insane vocal performance, the oddly biblical and self-aware and existential (almost self-deprecating) lyrics, the child-like scared whispering in the background, it put me in a headspace i don't know how to describe. it was like i was a child again or something. it was almost like a song i heard before i was born, wherever you are before you live, and hearing it again took me back to that place. it took me back to a place i can't even really comprehend or i even know for sure exists. chills. i love this song because of that.
That’s great thanks for sharing
A lot of other artists back then did this. We had only radio and broadcast tv, which was boring. We would get high and sit in each others bedrooms listening to albums together. Just people, sitting in a room, listening to music, for hours on end. Those albums took us on spiritual journeys.
It feels medieval to me. Primal. I love it.
I had a similar experience - we had just had mushrooms
This song is addictive, i just can't stop listening!!!
The Dreaming is her most underrated album. Perhaps the public wasn't ready for such an extreme turn at that point.
Thanks for this explanation. It's a track of sublime genius and you have given it even more meaning.
Man, Kate is such a magnetic performer. I could watch her dance for hours.
[Verse 1]
Out in the garden there's half of a heaven
And we're only bluffing - we're not ones for busting through walls
But they've told us unless we can prove that
We're doing it we can't have it all
I want it all
[Verse 2]
He's gonna wangle a way to get out of it
She's an excuse and a witness who'll talk when he's called
But they've told us unless we can prove that
We're doing it we can't have it all
I want it all, I want it all
We can't have it all
I want it all
[Pre-Chorus 1]
"I caught a glimpse of God, all shining and bright..."
[Chorus]
Suddenly my feet are feet of mud
It all goes slow-mo
I don't know why I'm crying
Am I suspended in gaffa?
Not until I'm ready for you
Not until I'm ready for you
Can I have it all?
[Verse 3]
I try to get nearer, but as it gets clearer
There's something appears in the way - it's a plank in me eye
With a camel who's trying to get through it
Am I doing it? Can I have it all now?
I want it all
[Verse 4]
I pull out the plank and say, "Thank you for yanking me
Back to the fact that there's always something to distract
But sometimes it's hard to know if I'm doing it right"
Can I have it all now?
I want it all
Can I have it all now?
I want it all
Can I have it all?
I want it all
I can't have it all
[Pre-Chorus 2]
"We all have a dream... maybe"
[Chorus]
Suddenly my feet are feet of mud
It all goes slow-mo
I don't know why I'm crying
Am I suspended in gaffa?
Not until I'm ready for you
Not until I'm ready for you
Can I have it all?
[Verse 5]
I won't open boxes that I am told not to
I'm not a Pandora, I'm much more like
That girl in the mirror between you and me
She don't stand a chance of getting anywhere at all
I want it all
Not anywhere at all
I want it all
No, not a thing
I want it all
She can't have it all
[Pre-Chorus 3]
"Mother, where are the angels? I'm scared of the changes"
[Chorus]
Suddenly my feet are feet of mud
It all goes slow-mo
I don't know why I'm crying
Am I suspended in Gaffa?
Not until I'm ready for you
Not until I'm ready for you
[Chorus]
Suddenly my feet are feet of mud
It all goes slow-mo
I don't know why I'm crying
Am I suspended in Gaffa?
Not until I'm ready for you
Not until I'm ready for you
Can I have it all now?

Thanks.
Picture it...1989 - the first Kate Bush song you ever hear = HOOKED for 32 years! ❤️
I never took miming seriously until... until this miracle of a person...
neither expressionist dancing
Same 🤩
Man, this woman has always been so enchanting to me in all respects: her looks, her moves, her various voices, her music, her everything. An incredibly fascinating woman, the more so as you keep in mind her young age back then. What a wonderful human being!!!
It’s hard to pick my favourite Kate song but this is up there, incredible stuff.
This has been and will always be my favorite Kate Bush song. There is nothing else at all like it.
Unique
Try Sapokanikan from Joanna Newsom
@@caleidoscopical1199 I very much like everything by Joanna Newsom.
Cure, Banshees, Cocteau Twins fan here just now discovering Kate Bush: SHE"S INCREDIBLE! Love it!
I suggest you to listen to all her albums in chronological order
@@beathusk1018 - Believe me I am and I've ordered the first 4 already. : D
@@soterioncoil2163 Until The Dreaming, my favourite 😉
I like your taste. Try Dead Can Dance next!
I couldn't believe I had never heard about her considering my mother had me listening to Floyd since I was 2 butt to be honest if I had really listened before last year I would have never really understood all of those elusive lyrics I Love suspended in gaffa because I'll never forget when I just got what the lyrics met . she's kind of like the David Lynch of music a lot of people aren't going to understand and it's not something that can be explained it's not about being on the inside or being you smarter it's about something that really people find because it's not spoken publicly about and really it's not common knowledge the only people who really know where the people who really really seek and most people don't even know there's something to search for.....
what really gets me is she wrote those songs most of them be early as as young as twelve years old 13 that is truly unbelievable she really helps me and I'm sure so many others cuz there's not a lot of us we're kind of the recluse because people never see things the same way that we do
always the black sheep most of us never knowing why. she's a messenger for all of us, Elton John put it perfectly when he said that she is the most beautiful mystery :-)
The Dreaming is her greatest album and was the least successful commercially. I love There goes a tenner.
Me too. And The Dreaming and Sat In Your Lap and most especially Suspended In Gaffa
One of the very few albums I own in vinyl.
I love all the songs on thay album
nahh never for ever takes it
Sat in your lap et Suspended in Gaffa sont des Chefs d' Oeuvre !
This is one of those rare, intense times of my life when I become completely addicted to a song, I mean to the point of insanity. I came back to this video at least 15 times today. And each time at 3:24 my soul is restored, over and over
Omg that’s me with Leave it Open (same album)
Omg that’s me with Leave it Open (same album)
I feel that way about the title track. "The Dreaming" blows my mind every time!
I turned my son onto Kate Bush when he was 8-9 and this is his favorite song by her.
Dearest Kate..
.just discovered this quirky song...it is utterly wonderful...xxxx
The cut, the lighting, the sand, the facial angle and confident expression with the blinking of the eye, and the slow zooming out, with that particular piece of the music, at 0:12 creates a very VERY epic portrait to me, and a feeling, and its interrupted quite soon which the choreography, but that particular moment I find to be very special.
I wasn't cool 30 years ago when Ioved Kate. I wasn't cool 20 years ago when I loved Kate. I wasn't cool 10 years ago. Now I'm almost 50, and finally I'm in style.
I just turned 60! In 1982, I was blasting this and all of The Dreaming in my dormitory room in Adrian, Michigan, US, and actually thought I’d make friends 😂
me too :-)
She’s super cool and so are you 😎
I discovered Kate in 1981 when MTV launched in the US.
I was head over heels in love with Kate when I was a teen. It's 40 years later & a little piece of me is still in love with her.
this is my absolute favourite kate bush song ... I've been fascinated as far as I can remember... I don't think this was overseas remember it being on the old lp version of the album .. the dreaming helps me sleep ... miss u dad x
Mine too.
This Woman is beyond belief! It almost seem that you can "touch" her vocal tone in the verses. So good!!!
This is one of my absolute favorite Kate songs. Favorite album for sure but this song is top 3 out of all of her songs for me easily.
I adore Kate for making more than music, by adding dance, mime and gestures to tell a story. Most of her videos use these methods.
The word is choreography.
This song makes me feel so sad, and so happy at the same time.
There is no language to say, how much i love her.
I’ve been listening to this song, and this album, for decades, and this is the first time I’ve seen the video. She’s so wonderful. ❤
Same. Also love Ra Ra Riot!
true! haven’t heard Ra Ra Riot since the cello player left, but the first albums were amazing for me and remind me of some good times in college☺️
@@michellanea_ Yes the first albums are treasures! I also stopped listening when the cellist left. That was such a huge part of their sound. Absolutely love those first two records ❤️ “Oh La” has such a gorgeous string arrangement. One of my favourites to this day 😄!
I used to dance around the house with my baby son in my arms to this song.
Her voice and a certain assumed eccentricity make her an exceptional artist. This song is one of my favourites.
"...back to the fact..." Kate accents with her arms those percussion hits 1:30
Then her right foot accents with hops and she stops at exactly the last percussion hit (...tried to describe...) 1:36
It's attention to those details which, taken as a whole, makes her music and videos unlike anything before or since. Wow-unbelievable!
Imagine the poise with all of the effects over hours, what artistry from Kate Bush.
Wow that barn, man I could lay in that sand reading a book and just enjoying life, I WANT IT ALL including that barn.
Kate Bush is the artist for whom "colossal" is a grose underestimation.
The Dreaming and the videos that accompanied it are pure, absolute genius. I love all her works up to The Red Shoes but in my book, NOTHING beats The Dreaming
the last shot of her running in place and being pulled back is pure genius
I love this song!!! The Dreaming is my favorite Kate Bush album.
Mine too !
“Kate, what do you want to do for the video?”
“I dunno, maybe I can dance in a barn and also heaven”
There's a lot of dust and it's very windy outside lol
That's who I want to be with in heaven 😉
And maybe the wind can blow me away in the end...
me and duale are the video reals
rickety really is an artform
I grew up listening to Kate Bush as my parents were big fans. Her music is incredibly nostalgic for me. As a child I was enchanted and scared by her at the same time. Rediscovering her as an adult now and I’m speechless at her talent.
I discovered her at seven years old and I was scared too 😉
Still one of my favourite Kate Bush songs, her work is so unique and beautiful.
I just absolutely love her. What an amazing and inspiring artist.
Queen Kate, she's music royalty
She's just like a enchanting pixie. Love this woman. Musical brilliance. Mime, dance..art! Pure MAGIC! And she's gorgeous to boot.
I love everything she did except Eat the Music
Yes!
I'm surprised to discover that this had an official video, considering it wasn't released as a single in the UK or US. But I'm very happy it exists.
This is the first time I've seen it, never knew it existed!
the chorus of this songs is on of my favorite moments in song.
the way it transitions almost like they are waiting and then "1,2,3,1, ready, go!" and they are off
like waiting for the drop before waiting for the drop was a thing.
epic.. that last chorus feels so right!
Does it ever!!
I can't believe I overlooked kate for over 30 years. I absolutely adore her. My favorite track of hers...
Wow. Been loving this song since the 1980s and never knew this video existed. Falling in love with Kate even more. Kudos to the video editing too!
With her exceptional voice range singing a waltz in a dusty barn.
That lady has some ideas. I love this song.
Kate bush: lots of goosebumps and a huge smile on my face
In 1982 I was 11 Years old and my sister had this Album. I was fallen in love in Kate and in this song. At this time I started to learn english in the school, I understood nothing. Now I understand the lyrics. The lyric is so amazing beautiful and very difficult to translate in german. Kate is so sweet and intelligent. Viva Kate.
I've loved Kate Bush for years. But the last year and a half this has been by far my favourite KB song and a very regular earworm. It's just bonkers.
Heard this on the radio couple days ago, and I was like, what is this magic? Very unique style. Crazy, solid and mesmerizing. I know i'm late to the party, but I'm having a blast with this artist right now :)
@waglefar You are not alone, and amongst good company. BTW, which radio station took a risk on playing one of Kate's songs?
@@GarthPrice-ej6bt My local FM Radio. It's a madlad that runs it. They play everything from local music, gospel, metal, and evetything between. You never know what you are in for 😄

Gosh my journey in Kate Bush's discography has been amazing, she's such a wonderful artist, she has a unique bold and classy weirdness, which I really love. She's becoming one of my favourite artists !
that bass during the chorus es perfecto
Love the song and setting, what a beautiful barn!
Takes me back to happy times & when artists had something to create from scratch & like Bowie she's simply amazing
Back to when our daily lives didn't change that much from day to day
Great post & a big thanks for starting my day off with a smile
I’m glad I just found this crazy little nugget by her because I had a mural to paint in my village in Suffolk this week, and I played this the whole time x her Aerial album has served me well in the past. Her freedom in creativity really has a string that wraps right round my heart and insides. Amazing what music and books can do for you
Listen to Ran Tan Waltz , Kate is sporting a Beard . It’s absolutely brilliant , whilst quite sad..
I bet she treasures this video now - the scene with her (real-life) mum is so sweet
I bet she misses her mum loads especially as at least one song was about her.
@@alexanderbolton the entirety of The Red Shoes is dedicated to her mother! Also Reaching Out from The Sensual World seems to be about her mother. The song before that (The Fog) seems to be about her father. A Coral Room on Aerial is also about her mother. A lot of her music is about her parents I think.
this song and video never fails to put me in good mood

Copy and paste if you think that Kate Bush should be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Paul Allen Most artists in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame deserve to be in it, so what's your point?
Paul Allen Yay, let's call each other trolls.
Kate Bush's work is immortal - who cares about a meaningless (commercial) R & R Hall of Fame -- and who wants to travel to Cleveland anyway? I am not joking...
I love how Kate did her Molly Bloom bit at the end.
30 years on and we still haven't caught up with this song!
One of her best from her best album! I love every second of it! ❤
Her songs and performances seems wacky until you start listening to them on repeat and start enjoying every bloody second of them.
What a crazy genius of a singer/writer/performer.
