Thanks for the comments so far ... meanwhile I don't even have the Suier anymore; went for a Charvel Pro Mod 22 SSS... less noisy, a more comfortable neck (for me) and warmer, more varied tone...

EMG seems very hi fi but also very bright.
It's like a 50' sound and squier a more 60' sound
