I used to ride that journey from Waterloo East to Folkestone in 2002 when they still had the slow slam door death traps. Those Javelins are absolute luxury.
Thank you for these wonderful scenes! Thank God class 373s did not fall victims to the pandemic. How come Southeastern operate dirty trains nowadays? Things were perfect when i was living in Kent, back in 2015.
15:51 why does it seem that all the Eurostar trains drop their Pantograph's down on that part of the track, is there I a neutral section on that point because thats my only guess.
In the description, it's described as the "pantograph setting changeover zone", so it'll be to change some setting on the pantograph. I'm not sure about the specifics of it though to be honest.
To clarify, because the OHLE in the Channel Tunnel is very high due to how large the Eurotunnel Shuttle trains are, Eurostar trains have two different 25kV modes: one for normal high speed travel, and one unique one for travelling through the tunnel. This is why they raise and lower here, the other setting change is in Calais.
@@CHOO-CHOOPlane That explains it then. I actually always thought the overhead line would have been lower in the tunnel due to it needing to fit in a relatively small tunnel with a physical height limit, but I guess the shuttle trains are much bigger too.
And I just came back from my trip to London today. I had a wonderful time riding the Pendolinos and the Javelins while I was over there.

Beautiful, loved it! Can watch this over and over again! Great work 😃

Trains get dirty. I don't think it was different back in 2015. Trains get cleaned when they can but that's not going to be always.
