Hello Marion. I am absolutely convinced there is NOTHING you can’t turn your hand to and create something absolutely beautiful, as well as useful. I know you said this was all a “learning experience” for you, but really is a very informative tutorial for those of us watching. I am sure you are going to do a lot more wonderful sashiko in the future, as a result . Have a wonderful week, creating gorgeous things.

Dear Marion, I do so love how you made your "Mistakes" into "Happy Accidents." What a delight this was. To watch you take a plain old serviceable denim jacket and turn it into a bespoke work of art, was truly lovely. Too see your garden and you in it enjoying the sun, just brings us all such joy. I wish you a beautiful God blessed day! ❤😊

      Marion, hello
I just love watching your acceptance of mistakes do happen. A little bit of knowledge..Sashiko history says that it has always been a utility stitching of Japan, to preserve clothing. But you have taken it to beauty. You should be very proud. I look at mistakes as being the artist license!! Absolutely amazing!!

I have just started watching your video Marion, but had to immediately comment (whilst I could remember the quote)...You were talking about your stitching not being perfect and said, "It's a record of my learning journey" - what a great way to look at each step in the process of each new skill. Thank you so much for these words of wisdom. I will carry them with me. Best wishes from Lottie x

Marion I just enjoy your videos so much. I like to learn new techniques. To me the finished product is the bonus. But the challenge is learning because I like creating. But to be honest I think I like your videos so much because of you. It’s been my experience that needleworkers are nice people. And you’re one of the best. Life isn’t always easy. Like you I’ve had to live through some difficult times. My daughter left this earth when she was nineteen. It was unexpected and an act of someone else’s jealousy. And although it hurt terribly I chose to choose better and not bitter. I’ve meant bitter people and they never get better. It was many years ago now and it does become easier. Just keep being the lovely giving person you are. I live in the USA. I’ll most likely will never meet you, but I think of you as a friend. God is good. I feel blessed to have found your videos. Your a natural teacher encouraging people as you go. You also share your life. The beauty in your garden and children as well as the difficulty of losing someone you loved. I hope you know you’re a treasure to many people.

Such lovely art, Marion, what a pleasure to see! I love the idea of leaving the sides and collar empty as it creates rest for the eyes and showcases the handywork. It is slimming as the diagonal lines on the back sculptures a visual sillhouette.

I am very new to your channel and I am already addicted. I've had a kit to do sashiko for about 2 years. Like yarn it doesn't go out of date lol. Watching you has really got me thinking about my current journey. As an older woman with late diagnosed ADHD, I tend to want to stick to one hobby, I then get bored and need to find another hobby to get me excited. You make sashiko look so simple. I have some very plain dungarees and I know what I am going to do with them now.
I saw you doing crewel work and it was like a blast from my childhood. My nannan had a piece of crewel work on her wall in the hall as you walked into her house. My nannan had lots of hobbies, and my grandmother was a tayoress. I'm the only one out of 4 girls and an adopted boy who is creative. I made my own wedding dress in 2016. All I have ever wanted to do is (what I call) proper embroidery. Please don't stop what you do, you have inspired this 57 yr old woman to stop being afraid to try something different. One last thing, where is your black teapot from, I love it.
    Thank you for being you
    Claire from Yorkshire

Hello Claire and welcome to my channel 💐
I like doing everything and I just hop around like a butterfly from thing to thing as it suits me... I don't see anything wrong with that.. It's no good being bored when you can do something else till the fancy takes you back to the first thing again 😅
I got the hobnail teapot for my husband who drank a lot of Chinese tea. It's actually dark green but looks darker as it's so used..
It's made by Bredemeijer and I use it now for my loose leaf black tea.. people are always surprised at how much it holds... ☕

I had a go at sashiki the end of last year and made a jacket out of two old dresses. It was very therapeutic and love your different methods that you have shared. Brilliant for dark nights in the UK. Thankyou x

Marion, your jacket truly is wearable art! What a joy it was to stitch along with you in your garden, with the red teapot, and the charming lace "thingy" coveting your milk pitcher. :)

I think I usually just call it a beaded jug cover ... My brain wasn't working on that day though..😅
They're really pretty and I love using the old fashioned things... Plus...it works 👍
