In all those Phoenician lands especially Tyre and Sidon it was said those 2 places were formidable. Impossible to destroy. Yet Alexander always found a way. When he came to Israel he met with the high priest. Alexander knew about the Exodus from Egypt. As did all kingdoms around the ancient world at that time. He brought with his armies prized animals for the temple to sacrifice. I found it amazing that not only did he know which animals could be used. But that those animals couldn't have walked to where they were going because it would make them traif unkosher for sacrifice if there was a scar or imperfection. He gave them his word that they would have freedom to worship their God. Obviously Antichos-epiphany who took over that part of Alexander's empire didn't agree. But as for Phoenicians they were still going to be destroyed if they made themselves known.
