      This is a severe macaw (chestnut fronted macaw), largest of the minis. The REAL minis are the hahns macaws and noble macaws. About the size of a conure, and true minis. Wildly popular too!

      Yeah three mini macaws I know is the Severe macaw which is biggest of the mini macaws and more like there big cousins. Then there is Yellow collar macaw and then the hand macaw is smallest.

      What does that stick work for ? Or what does it make them do ?

    • @Whateverhasbeenmynameforyears
      @Whateverhasbeenmynameforyears 3 роки тому +4

      @@yesiiii2389 They are supposed to touch it when it is within reach. They get a treat for touching the end nicely.
      So if it is close and you are waving it around then you are asking for them to hit a moving target and not rewarding them for it. So it is frustrating for the bird. You should step away from them when you are not training so that they know they are not needing to respond. This clears up the communication and releases the pressure. If you frustrate them enough they will give up or bite because they do not understand what you are wanting anymore because you are basically demanding something but speaking nonsense.

    Awesome, love your videos and showing how to do this work with our birds. IThat shows the exact personality of a double yellow head. Honestly perfect . I tried to answer a video of yours a month back or so that I watched about how amazons personalities are very “one person typical.” There eye movements crazy!, literally. I
    The honesty of the truth and description of what its like to own an amazon parrot was so right on. But I i got too long winded in my reply. Glad to have this advantage and see the reactions of the double yellow head amazon in training mode and to say what needed to be aid.

    I love Eclectus parrots!! It's my dream to get one, one day when I'm older. I'd like a female as I prefer the colouring but I guess I would decide based on personality. I don't think I will ever get a cockatoo, just based on their lifespan and how much work they are, but if I did get a bigger parrot I'd get an Eclectus. I also really like African Greys too but I don't think I will get one myself

    Can I get a reply. I have a African grey. He started plucking when he was little. Not a lot only his right wing and now his chest. It’s actaully good now and growing back but I feed my bird Seed diet a lot and Fruits a lot. I just saw your video about the Fruits aren’t good.So I am going to feed it Zupreen Fruit Pellets. And Fresh Veggies and Maybe every 2 weeks I give it Fruits and Seeds for 1 day. I just want my bird to live for a long time and for it to be healthy and the feathers to grow back fast

      They have a nutritional system on their website for vegetable chop and other things your bird should be eating.

      you are researching so you’re already on the right path. i think you should look into making bird chop. there’s a lot of videos on youtube that will explain how to make it. makes my life a lot easier to feed my birds. hope this helps💕

    Did you see the parrot didn’t even touch the stick at 5:03...just an observation. Doesn’t this confuse the bird? Also did you know birds are actually reptiles. 🤭

      They aren't reptiles, but they are related to them.

    *adorable mini macaw! what species is it?*

    • @NeIIy

      Pretty sure that's a severe macaw. They are much bigger and have brown on their heads above the beak. Hahn's macaws have a teal color instead of brown

      It's a Severe macaw aka big Hahns

    • @shizu7290
      @shizu7290 4 роки тому +1

      @Ilcht Its definitely a Severe. Hahns Macaws don't have red on the tails and even adults don't get as big as the one in the clip. Also Severes have a larger white zone around the eye making their faces look different.

    i still dont understand why some people keep birds as pets? 🤔 they belongs in the wild. very cruel and selfish and idle people keep them i suppose. why can't they just put up a garden and invite wild birds and enjoy seeing them like normal people? 🤔🤨

    So sad for these poor birds. They don't belong in captivity. It's wrong.

    • @gabrielle3314

      i wonder, how do you think of dogs and cats in captivity? do you think it’s wrong for birds bc they fly, or just because they are an animal in captivity? bc i kind of feel that way about all animals. i mean a house is just a larger cage, and most cats/dogs are inside most of the time.

    • @FinnyAde26
      @FinnyAde26 4 роки тому

      I think every bird owner feels the same but they are pets and we should do the best we can for them in captivity.
