Another great video from my favorite bird you tubers/ trainers keep up the amazing work I learn something new every time you' post a video
Oh my god the eclectus is so small!!!! She's adorable!!
Wow I never knew mimi macaws existed😂 They are just as gorgeous as the big ones though🥺
This is a severe macaw (chestnut fronted macaw), largest of the minis. The REAL minis are the hahns macaws and noble macaws. About the size of a conure, and true minis. Wildly popular too!
Yeah three mini macaws I know is the Severe macaw which is biggest of the mini macaws and more like there big cousins. Then there is Yellow collar macaw and then the hand macaw is smallest.
And the illigers macaw and blue headed macaw! All minis - look different than each other but are macaws :)
I adopted a 15 year old Hahn's macaw a month ago. He's very entertaining, and can be loud, but not nearly as much as a full-sized one. He fits in our household well.
We recently adopted a hahns macaw and she is amazing
Eclectus are probably the most food driven parrot species ever.
I love that the Amazon had a little feather on her foot the whole time. So cute and playful just hanging out!
I love how the amazon stood on the bowl pieces instead of the actual stand. He was absolutely stunning! An Amazon is my dream bird. I can't wait to own one!
I am frustrated with the target teasing and I am not even the one being trained! lol
What does that stick work for ? Or what does it make them do ?
@@yesiiii2389 They are supposed to touch it when it is within reach. They get a treat for touching the end nicely.
So if it is close and you are waving it around then you are asking for them to hit a moving target and not rewarding them for it. So it is frustrating for the bird. You should step away from them when you are not training so that they know they are not needing to respond. This clears up the communication and releases the pressure. If you frustrate them enough they will give up or bite because they do not understand what you are wanting anymore because you are basically demanding something but speaking nonsense.
Such an Eclectus thing to wait for them to finish eating before you can continue 😂💖🐦
So adorable :) Beautiful flock. Would like to see the other 2! Parrots are so curious! The owners just need to learn to keep the stick hidden when it has done its job :) :) :) At the end the bird was for sure going for it :D
Yup, our eccie does EVERYTHING in slow motion, fluffs and all
Love the Ekkie! They're my dream birds
Thank you for all the great tips! We got a toucan a few weeks ago and just started target training it. I didn't even know target training existed and how important it was until I saw this channel! thx♥
I look forward to these videos every week! I've been a parrot owner for years, but I always learn something new with these!
The birds are all very adorable❤️ my favourite has to be the eclectus😁 you guys are awesome! Thanks for sharing this with us
Today I got a conure and she’s just the sweetest 🥺🌸
Just wait it for the time she will begin SCREAMING!
Lavender Studio
it’s time, she’s began screaming.
spicedragonquill haha
spicedragonquill do you live in a apartament? If you live in a house, let her spend her time in the yard (if you have one)if you live in a apartament, your neighborhoods need to be deaf
The birds are all very adorable❤️😁 you guys are awesome! Thanks for sharing this with us ❤ 👍👍👍👍👍👍😊 success continues
That eclectus parrot is freaking beautiful.
Ikr I'm getting one soon
More! I could watch your training videos all day...
Please do and eclectus course! I have four eclectus parrots. They are very trained. But not target trained and we don't have them trick trained. They do however go everywhere with us and are very shoulder trained. But I'm curious if there is something new I can learn. I feel like they catch on to things very quickly.
The Amazon parrot is very pretty with all its colors. I'd love to see more
I never knew the extent to which target training benefitted my bird and myself until I tried it. It definitely makes bedtime much easier ( I don’t have to battle my caique to get him into his cage )
Parront no.1: "u still got half a nut hanging off ur face"
Dave: "... Again there's a joke there"
Parront no.2: "she thinks the nut came out the end of the stick"
Me: hshaNJsDafsbkosHsynGsh
I'm all about the female eclectus bird.
you said you have doves in a previous video. Would you ever make any content that features them?
Nice flock❤ & fun folks!👏
You could snap your fingers as an alternative for the clicker.
I’ve never in any video I’ve ever watched seen a bird so scared of an open hand just too funny
I love minies, especially hahn's and illiger's! So precious!
is that a hahns or illigers?
The eclectus!!! I looove themmmm!!!!
Awesome, love your videos and showing how to do this work with our birds. IThat shows the exact personality of a double yellow head. Honestly perfect . I tried to answer a video of yours a month back or so that I watched about how amazons personalities are very “one person typical.” There eye movements crazy!, literally. I
The honesty of the truth and description of what its like to own an amazon parrot was so right on. But I i got too long winded in my reply. Glad to have this advantage and see the reactions of the double yellow head amazon in training mode and to say what needed to be aid.
Thank you Jamie love your channel your honesty and attention to your care for us and the birds we so love.
I would love to see follow ups on previous project birds and training. I would love to see Sammy and his human in the wheelchair, Rasta- how is he getting along with his human boy owner, Lefty, touché and any others you can show us. Thank you so very much for all the information that you give to so many people! I love you
I love Eclectus parrots!! It's my dream to get one, one day when I'm older. I'd like a female as I prefer the colouring but I guess I would decide based on personality. I don't think I will ever get a cockatoo, just based on their lifespan and how much work they are, but if I did get a bigger parrot I'd get an Eclectus. I also really like African Greys too but I don't think I will get one myself
I got a female Eclectus parrot when i was seven sadly he broke his harness and flew away😢😢😢😫😭😭
In where i live a eclectus chick is 300 $ and a pair is 1481 $
@@gamingtimeisbackyea9393 I want to rescue one!
Rescue a grey! Our 22 year old was the best choice we ever made. Even for being sold to us as "demon bird" he's the most loving creature ever. CAGS rule!
My baby eclectus girl Rosa started screaming when she heard the birds in the background lol
You guys always have cool clients
I love severe macaws pls keep the amazing work
I LOVE YOU AND UR BIRDS!
The Amazon seemed pretty motivated to touch the stick without the treat. Like that was reward enough!
I have double yellow head Amazon and was great to see training video. Also will be getting Severe macaw in few months. I wanted to learn more as much as I can about the Severe Macaw. Because there's not many videos educating about the Severe or any training videos on them either. This video was great. I would like to see more the double yellow head Amazon and Severe macaw.
I have a Yellow Nape Amazon and a Severe Macaw. They are so fun! We syringe fed the Severe Macaw when it was a baby and it is very bonded to me. They are kinda like one person birds. They will be okay with others but they will love their main person who takes care of them the most. They are very sweet and smart.
@@lotus.... I live alone . But I have friends come over to socialize my Parrots. I just don't see a lot of Severe Macaw care or information videos. Besides the size of Severe. Do they act more like there big cousins or different? Plus tell much as you experienced so far. All my parrots are also babies. But my new severe wont be ready to take home for awhile.
Mini Macaw? Oooh!🤩
I feels like the video cut off suddenly
‘Cause it did
That stubborn vacant nah look is what I get from my amazon too lol.
I love mini macaws so much! Your favorite macaw tendencies in a smaller bird
I just thing that’s so cute
Such a great channel 👍🏼, I do have something to share though, throughout my experience with parrots that spans for years, I have noticed that Amazons are pretty moody, and the moodiest of them all is the Blue-fronted Amazons. I know all about birds getting hormonal and frustrated, but Blue-Fronted keep on being moody for no apparent reason.
I know this is old; but I’m curious if you conditioned the clicker first? Particularly in the case of the mini macaw and the Ekkie, it probably would have sped up the process.
Awww mini macaw and eccy that’s 2/3 of my flock right there
That looks like a severe macaw though, mine is a Hahns which is even smaller, she’s near conure sized, that’s how small she is
I worked at a rescue center in Indonesia where they were caring for eclectus parrots that were confiscated from poachers. Is there a responsible way to acquire these birds or are they all from the wild?
What are your thoughts on a harness?
I think I will try target training with my parrotlet. The only issue i have is her food is so tiny im not sure what to use as a reward. She throws her sunflower seeds out of her food bowl, I dont want to use a peanut as thats a BIG/JACKPOT treat.. I wonder if a white pumpkin seed would work...
What's that sound each time the bird touches the stick?
Great video.😀 I have got 4 rainbow lorikeets and I do clicker training with them too. I have also a video with that on my channel and it shows Barbossa doing slalom. Have a happy sunday.😀
I've been trying to decide between a Gallah and a Severe Macaw. How do you think they compare in character and needs?
Mini macaw ? That’s something new
god had a pen
Jamieleigh had a highlighter
god drew the world
Jamie made it brighter!!!
"You know what I said about the bird bubble" lmaoooooo XD
hi can you help me in have an argressive bird he is an derbyan or lord derbys parrot he speaks some times but some times fights with the cage! and he was tamed but now he bites or doesnt let me put my hand near the cage some times please make a video on this .
Iam getting a cocktail any pointers for them
Can you knowledge the little feather hanging off the Amazons back toe I don’t know why but that irks me to my core
I love that amazon
Are they the same size?
What is the clicking sound for
I love eclectus I have a male one.
What Type of mini macaw is That?
Hi, I am in the process of choosing my forever bird, I have an option to get a Blue Front Amazon or an Elcetus. After lots of research I understand the both of them but if you have any feedback please do share. This bird will be with me every where I go, just so hard to choose. Love the video by the way thank you for sharing 😊
Get an eclectus, amazons can have weird temperaments.. (Don't get me wrong, they're still beautiful birds)
I’ve never in any video I’ve ever watched seen a bird so scared of an open hand
Is this the same couple who owned the blue-throated?
I love your videos and the birds
that female eclectus works at my speed. I love her. anything about eclectuses I should know about to sway me off that choice? over a year of researching and I am sold on the eclectus
My female eclectus is a huge pain in the ass to care for, if you have the time and patience sure but it's a huge commitment keep that in mind
Feeding them is specific and difficult.
Are these all rehomed birds? I guess I don’t understand having so many birds with no training.
Love the vids and all the birds R.I.P Bandit boy 😭😭😭😭😲😲😲😲
I didn’t even do that to train ma rozella but it took 5 to 6 days I got a treat and put ma hand down so she can come on ma hand and the treat next to ma hand so she had to come on ma hand to get the treat and I did that for some days and BOOM she got used to it
Why get any pet if you’re not going to train from the get go? At least they are doing it now I guess
Tiggi's Trundlings i would think they just don’t know how or they thought they were already doing their best. The birds look amazingly taken care of and loved
many people have animals as a friendship/companionship and prefer to hang out and form a bond, rather than teach tricks. but i would agree with you bc it’s so stimulating and important to have that interaction
Clan of The cavebear I don’t doubt that. But when I got my dog rory, I looked up training classes before he even arrived home. It’s a simple google.
Eclectus parrot always wins I my heart
Please, tell me how better to hold as a pet, one or one pair of blue fronted amazon? I have a boy (near 4 years old ) and recent i got an 8 months old girl for him. In the last few weeks, he's become aggressive towards me. Will it be permanent or shortly? What am I supposed to do to keep him on my side? Thanks! I am very anxious and nervous about his attitude and I would like to know if he will return to me as he was before or not. What should I do? I am a poor old man who has in this world only a parrot and a few dollars a day, the vets ask me many hundreds of dollars for a little advice. Shame on them! Please can someone help me with a free advice. Thank you !
Hi I love birds I got a macaw
I have an eclectus
I have an african grey parrot and she always go to my room's door or to my bathroom slippers and she keeps biting them and she's been doing this for 4 years now, please tell me what shall I do?
Put the slippers out of reach
@@breyanna6951 lol
AWWWW
How does someone become a bird trainer?
experience! failure! seeking advice, videos, and time. time. time. time. ❤️
But it’s hard to train so make a vid of macaw training
The open hand is scary!
Should my cockatiels have access to food all the time as they have access to some pellets and seeds all the time as I’m trying to convert them that’s why they have both Xxxxx
During diet conversions I always have the new food available and use the old food to entice - for example I’d give fresh food with the new pellet powdered and sprinkled on top and mix an old seed mix into that to get them digging through it. I’m also always weighing during diet conversion to ensure no weight loss especially in the tiny birds! 💛
BirdTricks we are unable to weigh the birds as we don’t have anything to do with and they wouldn’t let us as they are aggressive and very skittish 💛❤️
Jenna Beverley could you work on your tiels with target training and hands off handling to get them onto the scale?
Anna Pettit one of them is target trained however the other just runs away from the stick and hisses at me xx
Anna Pettit and we don’t have a scale xxx
Can I get a reply. I have a African grey. He started plucking when he was little. Not a lot only his right wing and now his chest. It’s actaully good now and growing back but I feed my bird Seed diet a lot and Fruits a lot. I just saw your video about the Fruits aren’t good.So I am going to feed it Zupreen Fruit Pellets. And Fresh Veggies and Maybe every 2 weeks I give it Fruits and Seeds for 1 day. I just want my bird to live for a long time and for it to be healthy and the feathers to grow back fast
They have a nutritional system on their website for vegetable chop and other things your bird should be eating.
you are researching so you’re already on the right path. i think you should look into making bird chop. there’s a lot of videos on youtube that will explain how to make it. makes my life a lot easier to feed my birds. hope this helps💕
Hmm i wonder. Can you use your mouth as a clicker? Like when u click with your tongue?
I know this is an old comment but I think you could cuz people train horses useing the tongue click as a sign.
Yes, I do.
Did you see the parrot didn’t even touch the stick at 5:03...just an observation. Doesn’t this confuse the bird? Also did you know birds are actually reptiles. 🤭
They aren't reptiles, but they are related to them.
*adorable mini macaw! what species is it?*
Pretty sure that's a severe macaw. They are much bigger and have brown on their heads above the beak. Hahn's macaws have a teal color instead of brown
It's a Severe macaw aka big Hahns
@Ilcht Its definitely a Severe. Hahns Macaws don't have red on the tails and even adults don't get as big as the one in the clip. Also Severes have a larger white zone around the eye making their faces look different.
🤣😝👍
can see that the birds is distracted by her nails. she should remove it, or cut it if she want to train them successfully.
Love this but not sure what you're trying to achieve other than him touch a stick?
You need to watch their other videos - it’s a whole thing towards building trust with your birds :)
I love you guys so much and thanks to you I’m trying to change my cockatiels to a seeded diet any tips as they don’t want to eat it ps thanks so much for seeing my insta stories and please could you follow my insta xxxx
A seed diet?
You're changing them TO seed?
Sylvia T no to pellets
Ivanna Santiago I meant a pelleted diet 😂😂
Jenna Beverley oh you scared me
Can you please shorten the intro a little bit? I keep having to skip it
I HAVE A 20K SMILE AND EAR PLUGS I STERETCHED AT AGE 42 IM NOT OLD
54th
What’s with this woman’s nails like no offense to her but I feel like if she got rid of her nails half of her problems with her birds would go away
i still dont understand why some people keep birds as pets? 🤔 they belongs in the wild. very cruel and selfish and idle people keep them i suppose. why can't they just put up a garden and invite wild birds and enjoy seeing them like normal people? 🤔🤨
1st
So sad for these poor birds. They don't belong in captivity. It's wrong.
i wonder, how do you think of dogs and cats in captivity? do you think it’s wrong for birds bc they fly, or just because they are an animal in captivity? bc i kind of feel that way about all animals. i mean a house is just a larger cage, and most cats/dogs are inside most of the time.
I think every bird owner feels the same but they are pets and we should do the best we can for them in captivity.
