I completely believe the restrictions the app had forced people to be more creative, like how tiktok used to not even have text on screen if anyone was using it then. creative limitations are why so many of these still hold up now, the jokes were simple and effective
I also love that hardly any vines were ever negative or meanspirited in anyway. Out of all the tons of vines I ever saw maybe less than 1% of the creators would I ever dislike or find genuinely annoying. With tiktok that's more the rule, not the exception.

IMO one of the cornerstones of Vine comedy is that dialogue and screams are usually cut off by the 6 second timer, and even when it’s not cut off, the clip ends right when they stop talking so there’s no time for the punchline to actually sink in. It’s fantastic

She was pissed at the guy filming at the time - she turned around and yelled at him right after he got done recording, because she heard him - but now she thinks it's funny that it got so popular.
