This week we learned that Rahul Shivshankar, or RSS, is tragically leaving Times Now for new pastures. We look back at some of his best, worst and most memorable moments.
With one towering news personality leaving Times Now, another has seamlessly taken his spot on Times Now Navbharat. Yes, it’s Sushant Sinha, who left his blackboard this week and followed Dear Leader to the United States. PM Modi is there to strengthen ties between the two countries but Sushant tried his best to spoil the fun by telling viewers the US isn’t a nice place to live and they should be grateful to live in a great country like India.
It wasn’t just Sushant. Republic dispatched Aishwarya Kapoor to the US too. But once we watched his report on ‘Modi thali’, we realised why he doesn’t leave the studio much.

When I was in 6th class 8 years ago, I use to fight with my relatives and friends upon their criticism of Indian television media.
But since I have started to read the reality in college and watch some logical videos such as this, I feel how futile it all was to get into argument for something which you did not understand at that time and had no ability to do so either.

One of the most hilarious and well made show. Kudos to Manisha and team for bringing out the rot in the television media. While at the end of it all, one feels sad to know the extent to which the TV media has fallen, talking about mushrooms, salads and thalis when so much of complicated geo political situation needs to be brought out. Will it ever recover ?

Just as an NRI (ik mooh pe jute maro mere); I have to say: the times now guy chose the worst time for inflation reporting in the US. So much so that eggs in the US are cheaper than what I got them for in Mumbai. also other food items are also getting cheaper not to mention the model of whole-selling non perishables such as dal and beans and other canned goods which makes the COL even more competitive.
I feel really sorry for the hours of footage that you guys have taken upon yourself to go through this utter bull shit. More power to you guys. I feel like for all the hype around Nehru - the romanticism like your comment (it evoked a similar response for me tbh) or the blind hate on whatsapp university and radio rwanda; We'd all be better off actually reading about the freedom struggle again as adults and how the foundation was laid for our country, what challenges we faced. IIRC when I went to school (CBSE), Indian History ended with the freedom struggle atleast for 10th class - and while we did study about the constitution and the pillars of our democracy in Civics, we didn't learn a lot about what historic events influenced in shaping our democracy the way it is. We see a very skewed image of Nehru and other founding figures in popular media these days, and it usually contains little to no information about their ideas and their vision for a modern India to outlive them many times over.
