  • WARNING , DO NOT WATCH THIS IT COULD MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE A LIGHT WEIGHT .
run a scenario where you have been lost in the wilderness and you have to survive the night with no resources .
    #survivethenight
this was my first attempt at this . I made a bed I did not use except to hold my bag , I sat with a fire from 7pm through to 7am in the cold a dark of winter .
the entire collaborative effort was to be run by four of us and recorded to 8 minutes each . then we were to make a film using all four videos .
    I did this solo .
I did this to see if I could do it . if I could survive the night .
that's where it started . I never uploaded this version back in March 2024
now it has its own channel .

I think until you try it, you just won't know the peace of it .
It's like a journey you can avoid every day of the week .
But if it came knocking you would be glad you had done a dry run .
My words at the end don't do it justice . It's a humbling experience.

It's definitely good for the soul to get out and just survive. I loved the light painting. That must have taken a while in editing to get them all together like that. It was beautifully done. Did you get your head down for a few hours when you got home? Thanks for sharing Owen.

Youre right its a once off challenge . If you did them all the time you would get sick of the outdoors .

It's sad doing it twice .
Needs more people to submit their version . But I don't see many people applying for it.
Probably because it's so hard .my video makes it look easy . But you try to keep a fire going for twelve hours without any additional fuel , no saw , no Hatchet . You'll see how hard that is .. and I don't think there are many people who can pull that off.

I think that our modern society makes us yearn for a connection with primitive nature. Our modern lives are too convenient and everything is too immediate. We do not get dirty and toil in terms of physical labour.

I have noticed now that even camping with a tent has the be done on a dry day , with a chopping board ..
The lack of basic ability to assault a day is lacking . Men just believe they are soft perhaps . .
For me it seems like keeping the practice alive is more important than ever .

Making the shelter I maybe expended too much energy, but who knows how much cold it slowed down .
