I have no issue with trans folks generally- but treating transwomen always as women needs to be more carefully considered in the areas of communal female changing rooms, womens' prisons, refuges and womens' sports, for instance. Also, if a transwoman is registered with her GP as female she will be offered a smear test!!!!!!!!!!! (from the PHE information). Whereas, a transgender man..if registered as male at his GP, will not receive a smear test invite!!! This simply reflects the madness of our current society. I guess that the government would rather let the trans man get cancer than risk offending him!!!! Mental. Sorry. That turned into a bit of a rant there!!

Actually women are being more marginalised by trans men, who do have a cervix, can get pregnant, don't like the word maternity or breast feeding etc. etc., and are becoming more commonplace. Trans women don't help matters either but there are some of us who just call themselves trans and do everything they can to respect women.

I'm trans male to female. I get offered mammograms which is useful. I also make a point of asking about prostate. But smear tests are for women, and trans men only. I refer to myself as trans. I wouldn't dream of saying I'm a woman.

If there was such a thing as a functional ovary, uterus, cervix etc transplant; then maybe this would be a conversation. Meanwhile, what we see is sterilisation followed by a visit to the dressing up box.

I was just listening to a lesbian doctor talk about how dangerous this is in medicine. She recalls how one trans male patient was rushed to the hospital with abdominal pains believed to be related to stopping hypertension medication. He was severely overweight and they didn’t realise he was pregnant and not knowing his biological sex led to the baby dying due to a lack of immediate medical care - which they were devastated about. She also said that female heart attacks and male heart attacks look different, so they need to know their biological sex.
