    in this video, I thought I would experiment with using pulse settings and laywire technique... as compared to using straight TIG on an outside corner joint on .120" (3mm) cold rolled steel.
    weld joint #1 was welded at 105 amps straight current using ER70s-6 1/16" (1.6mm) filler wire
    weld joint #2 was welded at 177 amps 2 pulses per second with 30% background current using 3/32" (2.4mm) er70s2 wire. Read full full detailed article here

    That ck unit is my second favorite machine on the market. Magicwave is number 1. But that ck is a lot more reasonably priced for the home user or shop and is super smooth and delivers.

    I see that the MT-200 doesn't have pulse width. I have a DC TIG machine with pulse, but now I'm in the market for an AC/DC TIG machine and was wondering how useful adjustable pulse width is. The MT-200 says it is fixed at 50 percent and I can see that would be one less setting to worry about with it fixed.

    Low frequency pulse didn't really work for me, what's works great for me is few 100Hz to kHz pulses, low background with very high current spike, like 90%/10%, 70A/320A, with foot pedal for 1.5-2mm steel, short high amperage spike is like stirring the weld puddle, likely by electromagnetic force, so the filler sticks/bonds much better to base metal.

    Hi. I want to ask you what is differences between pulse welding and DCEN.
    When you set on the pulse, is current and polarity changed to another? ex) DCEN to DCEP or AC something like that?

    • @adeyemibabatunde1814
      @adeyemibabatunde1814 2 роки тому +2

      Pulse mode doesn't get to zero current, it switches from high to low(background) current level continuously(not zero current). The polarity should remain the same. DCEN remains the same DCEN
      In this video, 1.21min -background (low)current was set at 30% of high current value(not zero). High current was set to 140A(higher than straight welding value)

    I think the whole welding industry based on Tig welding has to consider the newest technique taking the industry by storm and that is the "cold welding" method, which isn't really cold but is a form of tig stitch welding but with more grunt and precision.
    For die hard tig operators the process will bring a derisive exclamation to their lips as they can only relate to what they know from the past practice and learned experience......to them anything new is taboo as it erodes their high status and brings the process of metal bonding down to a simple and practical level that pure tig cannot ever do.

    What are differences between welding with ER70S-2 and ER70S-6, fully penetrating on a butt joint and which filler would be preferred for that application? I know ER70S-2 has a cult like following in the US, but in Europe and Asia it is sort of considered outdated and something similar to ER70S-6 is now used for previously ER70S-2 applications.

    I received my Black Box yesterday and I have a question about the Furick Cups box (starting at 3:18). The box says "Not Recommended for AC," but you are using the Fupa 12 with AC and AC pulse in this video. Why are they not recommended for AC and why are you using them with AC if the manufacturer says that?
    I am currently using a Titanium Unlimited 200 from Harbor Freight, so I'm DC only for TIG. I watch videos like this for the techniques and insights. I will need to rewatch once I get a TIG welder with AC pulse capabilities.
    Thanks for the great video!
