Nice. Can't wait until the tuning potential unlocks on these. Like the previous gen. It will be epic with the better handling chassis. A perfect daily and monster.
There’s a place in Glasgow infinite performance that’s dynod a stock one at 450 so that’s not what I expected and I’ve heard of others being dynod at 430
This figure is based off removing the drive train loss. Also the fuel may not be the highest grade. I don’t know what was in the car. But either way it is still more powerful and has more torque than the factory nunbers.
It's more or less as Audi claim, so yeah, that's what you'd expect. You tell us you have no idea what grade fuel was in the car... that's poor. It makes a difference, so you should have checked or made sure it had 99 in it, as that's what we'll all feed it on when our cars arrive next year. I'd expect to see around 410-420 with the higher grade fuel in it and of course, a few miles on the clock.
It is the dealer car and I don't know what they put into it! but I also think most people would put the cheapest petrol in that they can and not the most expensive. But it is more than Audi state as it is.
I agree with you, is the best road legal Audi ever made. Its well made, good looking, fun to drive, practicale, nice sound, nice interiors, powerfull and you could drive it every day. Its complete. But the R8 is a masterpiece and if i have the money i will have it as a secound car, for sure.
Great content once again. Never get bored of watching videos on this new RS3. What spec did you go for? Also running cost, how far does a full tank get you in London?
Bro, that's a video I have been waiting for, I think it's the first dyno for this car. The VAG cars are always underrated by the factory. +40Nm is very typical, even on a EA888 GTI engine. Keep those videos coming buddy..
@@TheEryk03 it wasn’t the wrong measurement of losses. The car wasn’t happy due to being on a dyno with unlinked rollers so was shifting the torque front to rear. Regardless of figures Evolve had their car on the rollers before this one, like I said in my initial comment. No make of dyno gives the same figures as the next, exactly why they are predominantly used to measure before and after tuning gains. So not sure why you are focusing on numbers anyway.
@@Mac_F87 exactly! Dyno testing haldex with unlinked rollers is usless because gives wrong numbers... The losses are diffrent on full throttle than on neutral gear... This make loses measurements wrong.
Thank you thank you very much for this video, you are doing an amazing job bringing us this content much appreciated, did you have or did one one the parking assistance (auto parking) on the RS3 8Y, my carbon edition is coming at the end of March (hopefully) and I’ve not seen how the parking assistance works. Also have you ever considered a meet-up of your channel subscribers ? Keep up the excellent work and content 👍
I did record the parking assist but it was too dark to see what was going on so that footage wasn’t usable. I do want to feature it so I will see what I can do. Thanks for the kind words!
Me being from Bradford (I own the 8V RS3), I have seen many 2022 RS3's in Bradford, I remember you wondering why that was the case in another one of your videos, it just seems we all love RS3s here. So if anyone is wondering where a lot of the stock has gone its probably here jk :D Anyways great review and detail
The M3 is significantly more expensive. If you add a big deposit for the M3 and a small one for the RS3 you could get comparable finance but that doesn’t make sense. If you have the money for a big deposit on the M3 and want the RS3 you might as well use it to bring the finance down.
@@TechInTheCar Yes base models of each car there is a big difference but the RS3 needs some cash spending on it plus I guess it depends on what apr both Audi and BMW offer and what future values they use. If BMW offer a better guaranteed future value (in ratio to the purchase price) than audi, that gap in the monthly amount is getting smaller and smaller.
At this moment In time the M3 Comp Xdrive you can get over 4 years with a £6,550 deposit and £999.74 per month, or £10,850 deposit and £899.21 per month. That’s with no options and with 8000 miles per year. You could get a fully loaded RS3 saloon Vorsprung for around £5,000 deposit and around £1,000 per month. If you want the carbon pack and the visibility pack on the M3 Comp you are looking at an around £150 per month extra.
What are you talking about? Abient lighting pack is STANDARD on both Carbon and Vorsprung. I just checked my order, yep, it's included (mine is a Carbon Sportback). Code QQ2 on the order form.
Is that what you expected?

Probably you would have the R8 as the first car!
@@TechInTheCar practicality is bad, as a first car will be impossible.

It depends on traffic! I can't say I ever fill it up as the fuel is so expensive...
Finally we have some official figures, thanks a lot man.
No problem!

Evolve put their one on the dyno when they got it.
@@Mac_F87 but they had splitted axles and the measurements of the loses were wrong. This is proper dyno test for haldex.

Great video and beautiful car. Same color I plan to order in Texas.
Thanks! It will look even better in Texas where it isn't always raining!

Ha! Thanks. Shame there isn’t an stock anywhere else.
Is there a comfort mode? That’s what I drove in mostly with my golf r cause Wisconsin roads are horrible
Yes, check out my videos driving the car and MMI guide where I explain how much better this car is at handling bumpy roads!
hello, what fuel did you use?
95 - 98 - 100 octane ?
I do not know what fuel was in the car; I would imagine it was 95 but the UK fuel isn't the same as USA.
@@TechInTheCar
Thanks,
this means that with the European 100 octane can become 430 hp
RS design pack definitely available in Aus, I wouldn’t buy a new RS3 without it! really don’t like that round steering.
I’d love the RS design pack. Very jealous you can get it! I’m not bothered by it being round but do want alcantara!
I was told the Australian market will only get that round steering despite purchasing together with the RS styling pack
I’ll never get alcantara wheel again after my AMG. It’s a PITA. They suck. Flat bottom leather is better.
how much is this sexy car going to be in NA
No pricing yet but it will have to be around the middle of the RS4/RS5 price at top spec as in the rest of the world.
It will be interesting to see what PCP figures turn out to be on this and the new M3 x drive. Has anyone tried getting personal quotes on either?

Why fuel? 95 or 98 octane
No idea. It is a dealer car and already had fuel in it.
Very disappointing the vorsprung and carbon lose the ambient lighting as I think this looks great at night time.
I agree but it is across the dashboard and the carbon fibre finish does catch the light at night.
What are you talking about? Abient lighting pack is STANDARD on both Carbon and Vorsprung. I just checked my order, yep, it's included (mine is a Carbon Sportback). Code QQ2 on the order form.
Ambient lighting is standard for all three RS3 trim levels.
Isnt it 400 wheel horsepower since brake hp is only at the crank with no drive train loss
The figures before drive train loss were higher. Around 420 to 440 hp
@@TechInTheCar impressive
It's really quiet isn't it
The dyno is very loud!
Why do they always try and calculate crank HP and torque just tell us what it made at the wheels calculations are never accurate
It was around 420 to 440 hp.
No noise that's me out
It does make noise it just isn't as loud!
Round sterling wheel no
I don't mind that it is round but I would like alcantara...
