Don't do a rug!! My salon has 2 and it gets so gross like we have to clean it sometimes twice a day

I wore braces for so long, but it was totally worth it. Cheers to Feb 2020! I like to see fellow adults getting orthodontics. I know “adults braces” is joked about, but whatever, it is worth doing! I kind of cringe when people opt for the quick fix of veneers simply to change crooked teeth. The time put into orthodontics totally pays off. I hope people will see successful people like you going for it and realizing it is not too late for them.

I wear sterling silver! I looked up reviews of the company before buying it to make sure it is pure.
Basic rule of design for things like shelves and fireplace mantels is 3s, 5s, & 7s. Odd number of objects always look better than even. Your studio is gonna be gorgeous! ❤️ Can’t wait to see it finished.

I do think the coffee station decor is way too busy. I think a little more minimal would look nicer. All the stuff on the shelves above the coffee station is way too busy and cluttered looking. I think maybe taking away half it the decor or fake plants would look wya better. Keep it more minimal and simplistic and classic

If you have a nickle allergy like me, you have to be careful with gold as well. Nickle is often included in an alloy to make lower karat gold like 14k. Stick with 18k and 24k gold to avoid reactions. Also stay away from gold-plated jewelry-- it's usually made of a nickle base.

For the second shelf at the coffee station you could try placing maybe 3 or more beautifully decorated artistic coffee cups, you could really play with it and maybe even have them made so they have the salon logo on them!
BEAUTIFUL SALON! WOW! It turned out really nice. Very classy yet, comfy-cozy. I have always liked the exhaust fans in bathrooms because It gives a bit of privacy when needed. You are so thoughtful to keep your clients at ease with personal provisions. It doesn't surprise me that you included poo pourri! You crack me up! I can't wait for the big reveal of the Salon name.

you're mixing decor themes. the plants are more zen garden then you have wooden stuff and also nautical items.... i feel like in a big room less is more. a few intricate pieces will make it look put together. i would remove the fiftyleven plants and the second wooden tray on the coffee bar. the picture is too far back on the shelf or at least looks like it from that angle. you could hang it on the wall or put it on the lower shelf. maybe just candles or a light along the top shelf to pull it together.

I don’t even think you need an area rug but definitely get a bench. You’re going to have lots of customers and you’ll definitely need the extra seating!

My personal opinion dont do a rug, it will get sooooo gross with all the foot traffic. Also coffee station is to cluttered, once it started getting used multiple times Dailey you will get annoyed. Keep the counter clear except necessities and have some decor on the shelves.

Try titanium for your earrings instead, my ears get super irritated as well but implant grade titanium and surgical steel is usually really good, I've never had a problem :)

4:25 I get really irritated by fake earrings too, so I use titanium. They never bother me and you can still find cute stuff. You can even find just the titanium needle thingys.

I have a nickel allergy and the only metals I can wear are sterling silver (beware that poor quality sterling silver can contain nickel and also avoid silver plated jewellery), pewter and surgical steel. I could be wrong but I read a few years ago that gold can contail nickel.
@@TropicalDragonfly I can't wear sterling silver, nickle, or alloy. Only titanium, gold, or surgical steel.
I think some hanging plants above the reception desk would look so cute! They would be visible from the street which is a plus and make the flow of the room feel more deliberate as people will gravitate towards the space easier with more going on! A big mirror would also work really well and that way customers can still see how good their hair looks while they pay!

I have the same problem with earrings but I tried the earrings with a surgical steel post and so far no puffy ears or itchiness.

The seashell jar should go on the front desk to one end, maybe pair it with a medium height candle on a small tray with your business cards. On the other end, another draping plant and your sign or pens for customers to write with. The coffee station, keep the draping plant where it is. I think you could try overlapping the white square deco thing with your picture frame and some other flat leaning textiles. Keep the bottom shelf with accessible items like extra mugs and classes. The sugar, tea, etc should be on the counter. Your seating area needs lower level plants with picture books (art, fashion, hairstyles). Two stacks and a tray in between with a small plant, candles, seashells/seaglass items. Not necessarily all of those things, but just some ideas of what to arrange where.

I plan (in future) to have a small self salon/studio kinda like your previous place maybe but in Hawaii super expensive to rent and especially in a small local town where I'm from. I appreciate all the knowledge about your business.. it definitely helps create that vision or plan.!

As far as earrings go, I have the same problem! I've honestly just accepted I cant wear fake earrings for more than a couple hours. But it sucks because real earrings are expensive. When I got my belly button pierced a couple years, I expressed this concern to the tattoo parlor I was getting my piercing done at. They told me the piercings they use are surgical steel. Never had a problem with it! I figured if surgical steel works for my belly rings, to be sure it can work with earrings too! Then I purchased some surgical steel studs and it's not as expensive as real gold, and they never irritate my ears. Granted, I don't wear them all day every day, but I've worn them for 12 hours straight with no problem. So try surgical steel! PS missed you, love you so much, and your salon is coming along beautifully girl 👏👏💕
You should make the photo bigger and frame it on a wall. It would look super cute. As for the decor, I think it does look a bit cluttered, maybe removing some things and keeping it classy and simplistic would go best w the garden, wooden, modern theme :)

It is stunning. I especially love the couch. I did think about if you need more seating maybe something adjacent to that. But I think the only thing I'm noticing is that some things are coastal I design and some things are more modern and I think that the more modern pieces don't need the coastal accents

Omg Brittney it looks so good!👏 I think you could decorate the empty shelf with either blue&white rolled up hand towels, a horizontal mirror that you could lean against the wall, different sized sea shells, or some big beachy inspirational horizontal text block that you could get from TJ Maxx.

Congratulations on your new salon!!!! When I was at my most unhealthy my body rejected all jewelry (usually it's just nickel I'd have to avoid, too). I know 'detox' gets thrown around a lot and, IMHO God made our bodies to have self healing mechanisms. But sometimes we need some help. You look so healthy and glowy! But maybe add some supplements, mushroom powders can be great to boost immune system/help with allergic reactions. Zeolite helped me a lot. Heavy metal toxicity (even had IV chelation) was the start of my issues. If you have any auto immune diagnoses I'd really think about adding some things. Good luck, Brittney!

Based on no interior decor experience, I think the bottom shelf looks kinda funky with that tier... the one with the honey and such, I think it would look better with a tray or a small tier! Also, Walmart is currently selling rugs that look like turf, which I think would look really cute and tie the plants in front the coffee/beverage station together! BUT that being said, the salon looks amazing! So cute and modern without trying to hard! It's awesome!

As far as the coffee station, if the name of your salon is 'beach something", etc., put seashells up there. Anything that reminds clients of the beach and ocean as they are getting coffee. It's a way to further brand yourself and it also just gives a chill vibe. I LOVE it. Congrats.

Be sure to say those sofas down with bed bug spay. My friend who owns a barbershop had fabric sofas and he had a bud bug out break. Now he has a leather sofa.
Don't know if anyone already mentioned this or if you and Bridget have discussed it but I think it'd be a good idea to have some sheer curtains inside the microblading room just to give clients the option if they want some added privacy :)

It’s beautiful 👌 For your beverage station I would decorate with hooks to hang mugs and then add a few glasses to the shelf. It could be functional and pretty.
OMG! the salon is coming along beautifully!!! So proud of you girls! As far as the coffee station goes I'd get rid of the other round wooden piece. it looks more rustic than coastal. I think you could probably hang the white wall art in the bathroom. and maybe fill an old clear candle jar with sea shells instead or just place a couple of loose ones randomly on the shelf. hope this helps ;)

Girl you have to make sure your earring POST is solid gold. Usually the real gold earrings like from Nordstrom and places still have brass posts. Try earrings from VRAI & ORO. Love the video missed you!

SO. I live in Japan and we always have plastic or metal neddle earrings in stores. In my experience, some people get over the fake earrings allergies by just being stubborn and using them, and eventually the allergy goes away. And some people, like me, have yo-yo allergy to fake earrings, sometimes they hurt me, something they don’t. The plastic ones will never give you an allergic reaction, but they’re usually thicker.

Yupp I paint all my jewelry with clear nail polish!!!!!! IT definitely works!! But I paint the whole earring not just the back!! And I wear the plastic backing!

A friend of mine told me a trick to be able to wear cheap earrings.. coat the part that goes in your ear with vaseline.. it creates a barrier and really helps with irritation!!💗💗💗

You could get the earrings custom made. Where I live almost all main jwellery shops will make jwellery to a customers specific needs. Even my ears get irritated after wearing fake earrings so after some time i remove them and put in a small holy basil stick which helps it to heal quickly and then go back to wearing gold.
What about like a bamboo rug one of those harder rugs? Love the salon!!!

hi beautiful! my daughter has a nikel allergy too, most metals cause a rash for her...even with jeans, the metal button thing causes a rash by her belly button. she does the nail polish things and it works. she does what you were saying and only wears things for a limited amount of time then removes them at home. that's what she's stuck with. i'm going to read through comments to see other suggestions. thanks for putting that out there. i'm so excited for you girls! you are beaming sweetie. xoxo
