You can make shipping cost auto-calculate by putting in the weight of the items when you list your items, then the shipping cost is as close as possible as to what is charged to the customer. Over time, you'll start to understand and know the average shipping cost for your items to be sent and you can include it within your item price and have it as free shipping if you would like. Typically, first class USPS will be your best bet for items under 1lb within the US ($3-$6) depending on where it's going. Priority USPS will be $7+ and if its quite heavy then UPS or FedEx usually ends up being cheaper to send ground.
