    As a cancer survivor i feel this album so deeply. She absolutely needs all of the love and support right now. The battle isnt over when the cancer is gone. Some times the aftermath is even harder to deal with.

      First, I wanna say I admire the courage and strength of you to not only take on a battle as scary as cancer and win, but to also be open about your connection with the album. This album is very deep and I’m happy she put this album out. I can tell it’s been and will continue to impact the lives of people that connect with it.

    so glad you understood the project, some people really expected something different and are disappointed but it’s a beautiful album

      Yah I could understand why some people would be expecting something else, but yeah it was a well put together album.

    How Halsey takes so many musical risks while totally spilling her guts out and still makes it sound so beautiful… just astonishing. She’s a true artist.

    as somebody with a heart condition, dog years makes me feel so comforted because it’s like the only song that expresses the tiredness and frustration of being completely betrayed by your own body, i’m a 23 very fit male yet i feel like im fucking ancient because of my heart, it’s definitely taken so many life experiences i could’ve had and thrown em out the window

      I understand that. I empathize with you and others that feel this way. Sometimes I take my own health for granted and I’m not appreciative enough. And while listening to this album it was like an eye opener

    The main thing i take from this and listening to her other work. As a teen/ young adult she often wanted to die or was so reckless out didn't matter if she died. She then had a child, that she had to try real hard to have due to her conditions. She finally found someone to love and now she's dying. I think her old self and old outlook died during the sickness. She realized she was just playing a part. I don't think she's checking out, i think she's been reborn.

    This was an amazing reaction! I think tou definitely understood the album. I do wanna pop in and say that Halsey has said that her illnesses are in remission and she has a good team of doctors now! She says she’s feeling a lot better, obviously I don’t know her but that’s what she’s told the public at this point.

    What a great reaction, one of the best i’ve seen so far!! As a long-time halsey fan, imo this album is VERY representative of her other work (especially badlands but also iichliwp) and just such a tragic and beautiful thought experiment on the passing of time and meaning of life/death. Also, btw her baby daddy’s name in turkish translates to “flame” and many people think the arsonist is about him and less about fame/public image. Just something to think about. Thank you for taking the time to actually try to listen and understand this album! Some of the critics seem to have missed that step..

    Wow you really understand the intention on a deeper level! This project has such existential, philosophical, and deeper themes that it can be a lot for most people. I'm just happy to see somebody who gets it

    • @StiloReacts
      @StiloReacts  Місяць тому

      Yeah I tend to roam around and get lost in these themes with other projects for me it was a lot easier for me to digest. I do also get why this may be an uncomfortable listen to some.

    just a little background on her. halsey got her stage name from the halsey station in new york. i also happened to be an anagram for her name ashley. when she wrote this album in 2022 she genuinely thought she was gonna die. she will be touring in the summer of 2025. you should definitely listen to her past albums. they’re really good each album is better than the last.

    I don’t know if anyone else has said this, but each song is inspired by a different artist, and Lonely is the Muse WAS actually inspired by evanescence!

    • @StiloReacts
      @StiloReacts  2 місяці тому

      I can def see that by the roll out. Each picture was a different artist, which was what initially attracted me to the Album. I liked the roll out.

  • @zoejnobaptiste3332

    I think when she refers to herself as a martyr in the context of Lonely Is The Muse, she's saying that she 'dies' for her art and for the sake of others' art. Like she sells piece of her self as art, killing herself and with some significant others she's had in the past (who are also artists), she is reduced to a prop or extension for their art, thus also being a sacrifice they make for their art. She's a martyr for art and she's no longer sure if it's worth it. At least that's the impression I get.

    Btw, it's a common idea that it's 1 human year is 7 dog years, and halsey references her age as 28 on the record. And 196÷7=28

    First time viewer of yours and I really enjoyed your review. Your message to Halsey after Dog Years made me almost as emotional as the album. Your words were perfect and I hope she sees it. As for your friend, i think you're a bigger Halsey fan than she is lol. I definitely don't think solely "pop" when i think of Halsey, i don't think she fits in any box. Maybe I'm biased but i feel like they could do any genre (which they've dabbled in probably every one) and it would be fantastic.
    One thing I love about them is how personal their music is, i think that really allows for people to *feel* it and for people to relate to it. I'm nearing 40 and i don't think I've ever felt as seen and understood, even by people I have in my life.
    I'm not sure how much you knew if it prior to the album but after being diagnosed with lupus and a type of leukemia, these songs were a lot of how she was feeling at the time, thinking she was going to die and this would potentially be the last album theyd release, so they wanted to do a bit of everything that they hadn't really gotten to do yet.
    If you don't end up getting to see her tonight, she'll be going on tour next summer, and if you haven't seen her live before, i HIGHLY recommend it. She puts on an amazing show!!

      Thank you so much for watching and I appreciate you commenting ! Yeah I had no idea where she was in her health journey, the sound and lyrics were very familiar to me when I was about to lose an artist I really liked so I was concerned, I am very happy she’s feeling much better ! I can tell this is an album MANY people are going to connect to, and I’m glad I was able to find the time to listen to it and digest it.
      Lol I’ll relay this comment to my friend, I really urged her to listen to the album again with a different perspective and she was open to it.
      I really wanna see her live! Cant make it tonight but I think the summer I will attend a show :)

      @StiloReacts yea I'd definitely suggest she give it another try. Maybe with a box of kleenex lol but getting out of the expectation of halsey pop and really enjoy the songwriting that halsey has always been so great at. This album is incredibly deep and heavy, which i get being hard to listen to but I love how she writes and this was such a work of art
