The Superman 64 one isn't necessarily a _mistake_ ; okay, the entire game is a mistake but what I mean is: "Aventure" is actually how you spell "adventure" in French and, yes, Titus Interactive, the developer and publisher of Superman 64, was a French studio.
Paper Mario for N64 features an odd small issue on the back. There's a sentence that says "When Princess Peach is kidnapped, Mario plotsto rescue the seven Star Spirits..." I'm not sure what a "plotsto" is, but I'm pretty sure whoever wrote that paragraph meant to write "plots to"
Cycopather actually plotsto is a misspelling of potato! Imagine the typer accidentally put an l since it’s next to. The p and o, and then instead of typing an a, they typed and s which is write next to the a! It was an allusion to the hit sequel Potato Mario which never ended up getting released 🥔
That is not the worst issue. On one of the pictures, you can see mario using his super hammer (or super jump I dont remember) while in chapter 7 which is impossible.
Remember when Capcom reached out to the public regarding the Okami misprint and offered not only fixed boxart covers but also potential replacement ones? They originally had people apply for one of the three options they wanted (the fixed regular art or two unique designs), but since the wait was much longer than projected they decided to send everyone who applied the three options via two reversible covers.
The Super Smash Bros 4 Wii U box art has a pretty notable error on it. I’m surprised you didn’t include it in the video. It’s pretty well known. The art does not feature Waluigi. Huge mistake on Nintendo’s part.
On the Sonic Heroes American box artwork, Tails and Knuckles were apparently meant to be behind Sonic but Knuckles overlaps over Sonic's foot making Sonic look like a giant. You may not notice it at first but once you do, you can't un-see it. This was fixed on the covers in other countries.
I can't believe I've never seen that Doom 32X misprint. The only other misprint I'm aware of would be Astal on Sega Saturn, where the game's logo isn't present on either spine of the jewel case.
The two that always stood out to me are Gundam Battle Assault 2 for the PSX in which Gundam is spelled Gundum on the spine, and Rampage Through Time, which has a similar spine to that Doom game, where for some reason the title of the game is flipped so it REALLY stands out when it's wedged between other titles. Awesome video, Drew.
In that case, Twilight Princess also counts because one of the pictures on the back shows a Magic Meter you never get. Beta screenshots like that are probably super common. Hell, that deserves its own video.
@@rorz999 Classic Rare. They would either leave Easter Eggs lying around or content that was supposed to be removed lying around only to double bluff as Easter Eggs. Sneaky.
Micro-64, an awesome N64 fan site that is unfortunately long overdue for new updates has a great feature on N64 box mistakes, which is why I knew the Superman 64 one as soon as you brought it up. @@Lulink013 it's sort of how people say MP 2 is the best, only because they haven't played in years. If you played them all back to back then it's a race between 3 and 6. Well, at this point. If you have an official box art cover that has mistakes in it. It is officially a collector's edition. It is like collecting Mistake Coins. They are worth a lot more than the value printed on them. As they are one of a kind mistakes.
Here's a couple more with box art errors that I have in my collection! Sonic's Ultimate Sega Genesis Collection: Xbox 360 AND PS3. On the back of the box it shows pictures of a few Genesis/Mega Drive games. One of them is a picture of Sonic the Hedgehog 3's Angel Island Mini Boss. However the box mistakenly says it is Sonic the Hedgehog 2! This misprint is on both versions of the game, including the Platinum Hits version on Xbox 360 (not sure about the PS3 GH one)! Yes, it NEVER got fixed! Rock Band 2 for the Playstation 2: Now this one may not be well known since almost 99 percent of people who wanted to play this got it on Xbox 360 and PS3. The PS2 version is a pretty good effort despite no DLC (obviously). Anyways the mistake is pretty easy to spot. On the back of the box, the game mispells "CHALLENGES" as "CHALLANGES". Whoops. Not a box misprint but Dirt 3 Complete Edition's disc for the PS3 is practically identical to the original edition. On the Xbox 360 the complete edition has a visible gold ring around the outside artwork. Not on PS3. When I first bought it (it was a gutted copy at a Gamestop a while back) I thought they gave me the original disc that has no DLC. I am still unsure as to how to tell the difference between the two discs, as I don't own the original version on PS3. I don't know if this was ever addressed in future prints of the game on PS3. Seeing as the 360 version has something that tells you it's a different edition, this might be a misprinted disc.
